Stagnating growth in our educational systems has piqued interests in alternative teaching methods such as the inclusion of "serious games" into curricula. In response to those needs, a series of educational games have been developed in accordance with pre-engineering programs such as Project Lead the Way (PLTW). the focus of development is in creating an engaging, educational environment by balancing fun and learning whilst meeting the standards of commercial-level games. In this paper, we present methods, and the implementation of those methods, for serious game design that accommodates the integration of game mechanics with learning. the focuses on narrative-learning synthesis, supplementing the player's actions with feedback, and the development of a sufficient guidance system without compromising the entertainment or education aspects of a game are presented. Student-based evaluations of the game realism and the utility and usability of the learning tools in promoting students' interests and learning are also presented based on game deployment in both in-and out-of-school settings.

this paper presents an approach for paralleling K-medoid clustering algorithm. the K-medoid algorithm will be divided into tasks, which will be mapped into multiprocessor system. the control structure for the way of expressing the tasks in parallel form and the communication model that satisfied the mechanism for interaction between these tasks is presented. Data parallel model is built by decomposing the tasks among the processors. the implementation and testing of the parallel model have conducted using SESE academic simulator under Fedora 11 version at Linux OS environment.

Feature selection is a problem of finding efficient features among all features in which the final feature set can improve accuracy and reduce complexity. In feature selection algorithms search strategies are key aspects. Since feature selection is an NP-Hard problem; therefore heuristic algorithms have been studied to solve this problem. In this paper, we have proposed a method based on memetic algorithm to find an efficient feature subset for a classification problem. It incorporates a filter method in the genetic algorithm to improve classification performance and accelerates the search in identifying core feature subsets. Particularly, the method adds or deletes a feature from a candidate feature subset based on the multivariate feature information. Empirical study on commonly data sets of the university of California, Irvine shows that the proposed method outperforms existing methods.

Object replication is an unavoidable phenomenon in distributed systems to address the issues of size, administrative and resources scalability. It also guarantees the availability of system as more users can be accommodated and failures can be tolerated. If the location of object replica is not proper, the problem may arise when it is requested by many entities at once. the response time may also increase due to the network latency although network is considered to be steadfast in the distributed systems but the latency can never be avoided. Efficient replica placement, both client initiated and server initiated, can be ensured using the dynamic replica placement mechanism in conjunction withthe underlying routing protocols that provides the reliability of contents distribution and minimizes the network latency. In this paper, it is discussed that reliability can be assured if we use replica placement algorithm along withthe EIGRP (Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol). the issues of choosing the best path for placing the replica that provides the minimum latency and reliability of contents transmission can be overcome by combining the EIGRP features that includes internetwork delay, bandwidth consumption, reliability of packet transmission and traffic load, with dynamic replica placement algorithm.

Over the years a critical increase in the mass of the web has been observed. Among that a large part comprises of online subject-specific databases, hidden behind query interface forms known as deep web. Existing search engines are unable to completely index this highly relevant information due to its large volume. To access deep web content, the research community has proposed to organize it using machine learning techniques. Clustering is one of the key solutions to organize the deep web databases. Existing clustering methods do not encounter semantic relevance among deep web forms. In this paper, we propose a novel method DWSemClust to cluster deep web databases based on the semantic relevance found among deep web forms by employing a generative probabilistic model Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) for modeling content representative of deep web databases. A document comprises of multiple topics, the task of LDA is to cluster words present in the document into "topics". the purpose of the parameter estimation process in the underlying model is to discover the document's topic and tell about its proportionate distribution in documents. Deep web has a sparse topic distribution. Due to this reason we have proposed to use LDA that is supposed to be a good clustering solution for the sparse distribution of topics. Further we employ a rich set of metadata as our content representative that comprises of form contents (single attribute/ multiple attributes) and page contents. Experimental results show that our proposed method clearly outperforms the existing non-semantics based clustering methods.
