Stagnating growth in our educational systems has piqued interests in alternative teaching methods such as the inclusion of "serious games" into curricula. In response to those needs, a series of educational games have been developed in accordance with pre-engineering programs such as Project Lead the Way (PLTW). the focus of development is in creating an engaging, educational environment by balancing fun and learning whilst meeting the standards of commercial-level games. In this paper, we present methods, and the implementation of those methods, for serious game design that accommodates the integration of game mechanics with learning. the focuses on narrative-learning synthesis, supplementing the player's actions with feedback, and the development of a sufficient guidance system without compromising the entertainment or education aspects of a game are presented. Student-based evaluations of the game realism and the utility and usability of the learning tools in promoting students' interests and learning are also presented based on game deployment in both in- and out-of-school settings.

Evolutionary optimizers, such as genetic algorithms, have earlier been successfully applied to find the parameter values for the fuel cell polarization curve models. the structure of these, typically semi-empirical, models have evolved during the decades. In this study, the model structures were reviewed and a new model structure was generated. Genetic algorithms were used to determine the optimized model structure with linear model parameters. Four different fuel cells, one with varying operating conditions, were studied. the results show that the model can outperform the semi-empirical model utilized in number of studies without increasing the model complexity.

Finding a minimal dominating set (MDS) is a popular problem in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) to provide routing and backbone formation. A self-stabilizing system can tolerate topological changes such as node and edge joining/leaving thus they are very suitable for fault-tolerant and reliable WSNs. In this paper, we provide an extensive performance evaluation of self-stabilizing MDS algorithms for WSNs. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first experimental evaluation study of self-stabilizing MDS algorithms applied in WSN domain. We implemented the algorithms on various node counts and densities, and compared the average energy consumption, wall-clock time, move count and dominator count of the algorithms. the comprehensive simulation results show that the Goddard's algorithm finds the MDS with about 8.8% lower move and 5.8% lower dominator node count while its theoretical move count bound is higher than Chiu's algorithm. Despite of lower move count, the simulation results shows that the energy consumption of Goddard's algorithm is up to 1.5 times higher than Turau's and 2.8 times higher than Chiu's algorithms. the wallclock time, move count and detected dominator count of Turau's algorithm are respectively 84%, 88% and 12% higher than Goddard's algorithm in the networks with 1500 nodes which confirms its 9n move count bound. these measurements reveal that Goddard's algorithm outperforms other algorithms in terms of dominator count and Chiu's algorithm has a better performance for other metrics.

Nowadays, the student dropout is a serious problem which has an impact on education in thailand. this research is a case study of the students at thai-Nichi Institute of Technology between first-year and second-year that have a high rate retirement. there are analyze in order to find dropout rate and develop the web application to predict status of the students from their grade of each subjects. the prediction models were developed to use Decision Tree algorithms as well as Random Forest algorithms to achieve an improvement. the Decision Tree classifier has obtained precision, recall and F1-Measure of 0.80, 0.92 and 0.85, respectively. Results show that overall results of the predictor are satisfactory. the application can recognize dropout students and identify those students who need special attention that is very useful to help the students improving their learning process and to monitor the student performance in a systematic way.
