Air pollution in smart cities in the world has been drastically increasing lately and the increase in the concentration of particulate matter (PM2.5) in the air is a threat for the country and citizens as it can out-turn unbearable consequences such as cardiovascular disease and worsen asthma. PM2.5 is a deadly air pollutant that is a mixture of solid and liquid coarse particles and has a diameter of 2.5 micrometres. In Malaysia, traffic congestion has been the main contributor to developing air pollution in smart cities such as Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru. the systemic way of air pollution prediction using machine learning has been widely studied globally over the years and many machine learning algorithms were studied and tested to find the solution to air pollution in their country. However, very few approaches were done in Malaysia to predict air pollution using machine learning methods. this study aims to implement machine learning algorithms to find the accuracy of the prediction of particulate matter, PM2.5 in air pollution in smart cities of Malaysia. To test the implementation of machine learning in this prediction, Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), and Random Forest are chosen and compared between these two algorithms using the Malaysia Air Pollution dataset. the outcome of this research is that Random Forest gave the best accuracy in prediction of Particulate Matter, PM2.5 Air Pollution Index in smart cities of Malaysia than MLP.

this paper describes the design process of a microcontroller-based portable battery charger that has an Internet of things (IoT) capability to monitor the charging process. A standard DC-DC buck converter is used as power converter to give a DC charging current to a battery, which is controlled by ESP32. At various points of operation, the micro controller can also send various data to a remote server for monitoring purposes via the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) network. It can also send its current location to the server. A rudimentary web dashboard is also made to monitor the charger's state of operation at any given time. the designed system is able to utilize a single microprocessor to simultaneously controlthe charging process, and also to communicate withthe remote server. the charger itself has a maximum output of 650 watts (65.5V, lOA). Air pollution is an environmental issue that can not be ignored. the development of air pollution monitoring systems will be useful for controlling and measuring parameters associated with air pollution. Along with technological developments, the use of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is currently being considered for air pollution monitoring, as it can work automatically and has a much cheaper cost than conventional measuring stations. But WSN itself has several weakness that require supporting technology to cover the weakness of WSN. the solution is to integrate WSN with High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS).In this final project will be discussed the implementation of HAPS on air pollution monitoring system based on WSN. In this study HAPS will serve as the center of aggregation and data processing from the head cluster. In order for HAPS to serve as the aggregation and data processing center of the head cluster, Raspberry Pi 3 is used as the HAPS control center. In addition HAPS will also serve as an access point for the sensor nodes to communicate wirelessly with each other. In the access point HAPS used microstrip patch antenna design results that have a working frequency of 2.4 GHz, return loss of 11.35 dB and VSWR of 1.743. the designed HAPS access point has the farthest reach of 255 meters.

this paper presents a multifunction control strategy for the stable operation of Distributed Generation (DG) units during grid integration. the proposed control model is based on Direct Lyapunov control (DLC) theory and provides a stable region for the appropriate operation of DG units during grid integration. Using DLC technique in DG technology can provide the continuous injection of maximum active power in fundamental frequency from the DG source to the grid, compensating all reactive power and harmonic current components of grid-connected loads through the integration of DG link into the grid. Application of this concept can guarantee to reduce the stress on the grid during the energy demand peak. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the proficiency and performance of the proposed DLC technique in DG technology.

To overcome the challenges of weak generalization, high false detections, and missed targets in multi-scale plant disease detection under complex scenarios, this paper proposes an enhanced method based on YOLOv5. the method improves YOLOv5 by incorporating a multi-scale feature fusion module, an attention mechanism, and optimizing the loss function to accurately locate and classify plant disease targets. Experimental results show significant improvements over the original YOLOv5 model in terms of mAP, precision, and recall, with enhancements of 3.99%, 1.56%, and 1.27% respectively. Additionally, the proposed method outperforms other commonly used models. this study provides an efficient and accurate approach for plant disease detection, enabling real-time monitoring of plant health and precise disease control in plant factories.

this paper presents the design and fabrication of a new soft robot hand for grasping and sorting operation. the soft hand is driven by five pneumatic actuators. the designed soft hand structure is evaluated by conducting simulation study with finite-element analysis. A prototype of the soft hand is fabricated and combined with a collaborative robot arm (Universal Robot UR5) to construct a soft robotic manipulator. It can be used to grasp any shaped object in certain space by providing high safety and high adaptability. In addition, as an intelligent visual servo system using deep learning, the Solomon AccuPick system is added to the robot hand, which can quickly recognize the object, guide the robot hand to approach the target object, and finally complete the grasping and sorting work.
