Unsupervised domain adaptation has attracted a lot of attentions in medical image analysis because it can train models to multimodal domains without data annotation. this work proposes a new end-to-end medical image translation segmentation framework that uses structure-aware dual generator adversarial networks. Specifically, our framework introduces a pair of generators to replace an original single generator, while it also employs two structure-aware mechanisms: (1) image edge or structural information enhancement to improve image translation in the dual generator and (2) an additional loss on the basis of the structural similarity index measure to train constrain the network model. We evaluate the proposed method on medical CT segmentation of our liver data and public abdominal multiorgan data, with the experimental results shows that our proposed segmentation framework certainly outperforms other unsupervised segmentation methods. Particularly, the average dice scores of live and multiorgan CT segmentation were improved from (84.7%, 66.2%) to (91.8%, 79.3%) as well as the average symmetric surface distances were reduced from (2.19, 3.8) to (0.90, 2.0). © 2022 ACM.

the most lethal kind of skin cancer is called malignant melanoma. Accurate diagnosis of skin malignancies are aided by dermoscopy, a non-invasive high-resolution imaging procedure. Melanoma is a very dangerous kind of skin cancer because of how quickly it spreads and how aggressive it is. For this reason, malignant melanoma maintains its place as one of the tumors with the highest rates of growth across the globe. Second-order texture feature data may be obtained by the GLCM (Grey Level Co-occurrence Matrix) technique. the reference pixel and neighboring pixels are considered by GLCM to ensure an accurate calculation. Grayscale pictures have a decent number of levels, which is straightforwardly relative to the number of segments and columns in the frameworks used to characterize the scale. Relative recurrence is addressed by the grid component P I j | Dx, Dy), where I and j are force values and Dx and Dy are pixel distances. In total, the co-occurrence matrix considers 14 different attributes, including energy, efficiency, latency, correlation, homogeneity, and contrast. Convolutional Neural networks (CNN) and Gaussian Filters (GF) classifiers were then used to sort these vectors. Comparisons of the results these classifiers provide are also made.

RC Plane Robot and basic aerial robotics are technologies that are widely used, so training kits are needed to learn them. this study aims to: (1) Design and build, (2) Test performance and (3) Determine the feasibility level of training kit basic aerial robotics using RC plane robot. the study used the Research and Development method with the following procedures: (1) Potential and problem, (2) Data collection, (3) Design, (4) Validation, (5) Revision and (6) Trial. the object of the research is the RC Plane Robot training kit and the practicum jobsheet. the research subjects were students of the Electronic Engineering Education Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. the results of the research are in the form of hardware and practicum jobsheets. the hardware part consists of a robot plane, a work area (Box) and a remote control. the level of feasibility of training kits by material experts gets a percentage of 91%. By media experts get a percentage of 89.5%. By respondents (students) get a percentage of 86%. Based on these results, the training kit basic aerial robotics using RC plane robot is very feasible to be applied to the robotics course. © 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. Soft robots can adapt their shape to move through narrow gaps in ways a rigid robot cannot because of their compliance, but most of pneumatic and hydraulic soft robots are still relay on conventional hard valve and it hinder soft robots to completely achieve this. Here we describe a newly quake-typel five-way soft valve. this valve is only 47g and each way of the valve can be controlled individually. When vacuum is applied to the control chamber of the valve, the membranes will be pulled into control chamber and flow can be free to flow. To shape the complicated internal channels of the soft valve, a newly molding technique, which use soluble structure (PVA) as molding cores, was proposed. Compared with the previous soft valves, the soft valve can achieve more complicated function. A starfish-like soft robot was designed and manufactured to illustrate how the soft valve control its bending and stretching. © 2020 IEEE.

Improving agricultural output and guaranteeing food security depends on early identification of plant diseases and precise categorisation of them. In this work, seven major diseases of sunflower such as Downy Mildew, Rust, Verticillium Wilt, Phoma Black Stem, Alternaria Leaf Spot, Sclerotinia Stem Rot, and Phomopsis Stem Canker are considered where From the advantages of both methodologies, the suggested model consists of Random Forest (RF) as well as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN). Two sets of convolutional and max pooling layers make up the CNN architecture; then, a flattening layer. After that, a Random Forest with 14 trees—each with a maximum depth of 8—classified the obtained characteristics. From several web sources, 4,356 photos of sunflower leaves were gathered and preprocessed using cleaning, resizing, and augmentation. With an overall accuracy of 81.54%, the model was quite strong in identifying and grouping the disorders. For Phomopsis Stem Canker and Sclerotinia Stem Rot, accuracy is shown especially by precision, recall, and F1-score measurements. the confusion matrix study emphasised, even more, the strengths and opportunities for the development of the approach. Early intervention and efficient disease control made possible by this hybrid model provide a great tool for contemporary agriculture, hence allowing sustainable farming methods and maybe higher crop yields.

As labor shortages and safety regulations become more prominent, the need for human-in-the-loop automation of excavators is increasing. To meet this demand, we have developed a comprehensive modeling method for the excavator arm using nonlinear optimization approaches, including a simplified model that maps the task space to the joint space, as well as an equivalent model that maps the joint space to the actuator space. these models were then used to build a feedforward-PID joint velocity controller and a joint trajectory controller combined with position feedback, which forms the core of our proposed semi-automatic control system for the excavator arm. Our deployment scheme is simple and efficient, and has been deployed on two excavators of different makes and sizes. Experiments show that our deployment scheme performs well on both excavators, with an average error of 0.05 rad/s for the velocity controller and less than 5 cm for the trajectory controller. Using our semi-automatic system, we have completed demonstration experiments for precise digging and grading operations. A demonstration video can be found at https://***/N6I0WZGSF68.

this paper proposes a new approach for feature importance of neural networks and subsequently a methodology using the novel feature importance to determine useful sensor information in high performance controllers, using a trained neural network that predicts the quasi-optimal gain in real time. the neural network is trained using the Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy (CMA-ES) algorithm, in order to lower a given objective function. the important sensor information for robotic control are determined using the described methodology. then a proposed improvement to the tested control law is given, and compared with the neural network's gain prediction method for real time gain tuning. As a results, crucial information about the importance of a given sensory information for robotic control is determined, and shown to improve the performance of existing controllers.

Current process monitoring in machining hampers manufacturing efficiency due to manual data entry, fragmented systems, and lack of real-time data capture. this challenge is particularly tough for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) without advanced tools. Our proposed methodology employs a collaborative robot (UR16e) with a machine vision system (InSight 7802C). the robot shifts the vision system to capture images of machining processes and workpieces. Enhanced with a fine-tuned Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier, the vision system accurately identifies Aluminum, Copper, Mild Steel, and Medium-density fibreboard (MDF). Operational data, including material types and machine usage, is locally recorded and uploaded to Microsoft Azure cloud storage for data integrity and stakeholder transparency. this approach enhances process control and decision-making. Preliminary results validate its practicality and potential to boost manufacturing process monitoring. It sets a solid foundation for further exploration into smart manufacturing research, which is crucial for staying competitive in today’s rapidly evolving industrial landscape.

the evaluation and manipulation of robot motion are essential for effective motion planning. Similar to audio and video data, motion data requires transform operations and a merit function when utilizing supervised and semi-supervised algorithms. However, designing an appropriate evaluation method remains a challenge, and motion data cannot be processed with acceleration. this paper proposes a method for calculating robot posture similarity and action sequence similarity while introducing a method for scaling action sequences. First, a posture and action sequence similarity calculation method based on visual angle is proposed. then, a method for scaling action sequences is designed, drawing on resampling techniques from the audio field. through a series of experimental analyses, the evaluation methods demonstrated consistency with human evaluations, and the distortion rate of action sequences at different scales was less than 1%. Applying the proposed method to robot motion planning problems allows for the implementation of supervisory algorithms, resulting in intelligent robot motion planning. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2023.

In Malaysia, the growth of a new-born baby is recorded in a health handbook. the data in the handbook is consistently monitored through the information attained by nurses and doctors. Details such as the baby's weight, height, immunization schedule and growth development are all recorded into the handbook. On that account, the handbook needs to be brought when having an appointment as it is recorded manually and handwritten by nurses and doctors alike. However, in some cases the probability of losing the handbook is high, hence important information such as the child's appointment dates and health data can be overlooked and missed by parents and caregivers. Moreover, with the loss of key data, parents may face difficulties identifying symptoms that might present on their baby. therefore, this study has developed a system to record all of the necessary data. It was modelled using a rule-based algorithm to assess the condition of a baby based on their symptoms, the system includes a postpartum confinement module to support mother's regarding their postpartum confinement practices. the system also serves as a reminder for parents regarding their baby's next vaccination appointment. Results shows that the system is able to improve the disadvantages of the old manual approach, allowing for maximum data storage while reducing data entering discrepancies. By using a rule-based approach, the system can model a baby's health state and keep track of immunisation schedules as well as deliver friendly reminders to parents and caregivers if the need arises. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
