In off-road environments, the assessment and classification in travers-able and non-traversable areas is a challenging task. Not only does the drive-ability depend on the vehicle's state in combination with the environmental geometry, but also the assessment is complicated by noisy and wrong sensor data. thereby, faulty evaluation may lead to severe harm to goods or people since either safety issues or reliability problems are caused. While for the control part behavior-based systems proved to be suitable due to their inherent robustness against unforeseen situations, robust perception is still an unsolved problem leading to severe system failures. this paper faces the perception problem by introducing a new data quality-based perception module based on the integrated Behavior-Based control (iB2C) architecture. therefore, a new concept of data quality in behavior-based systems and methods for quality aware data fusion are developed while taking advantage of the modularity, extensibility and traceability of the existing architecture.

To understand the melt-based electrohydrodynamic (EHD) bioprinting, fabrication process related parameters such as melting temperature of the EHD ink solution and environmental factors within the fabrication chamber requires careful consideration and comprehensive experiments. the main purpose of this paper is to study the control of the heating and melting process of ink solutions, and environmental factors (temperature and humidity). Besides, a power module control unit is proposed to cut off the high voltage module output under abnormal conditions. these designs and testing can improve the current EHD scaffold printing system, which will be very helpful for stable scaffold fabrication in tissue engineering. © 2021 ACM.

the automatic design of the control program of the vehicle robot is presented in this study. LEGO MINDSTORM EV3 and RVW Level Builder are used for this study. the control program of EV3 is designed automatically by using Grammatical Evolution (GE), which is one of the evolutionary algorithms. the generated program is applied for controlling EV3. the results show that the robot behavior in the experiment of EV3 was roughly equivalent to it in simulator. therefore, the proposed algorithm based on GE can generate the control program of robot automatically.

As autonomous and connected vehicles continue to garner much research attention, the automotive Over-the-Air (OTA) updates recently emerged as an important research topic. OTA is crucial to disseminate critical updates for safety and stability of on-board sensing and operational systems. In beyond 5G(BSG) systems, OTA may be regarded as cached and a service provided by cellular base stations and roadside units (RSUs). However, for large-size OTA dissemination, the Electronic control Units (ECUs) of vehicles need to download scheduled segments of the OTA payload from the serving RSU in an opportunistic manner, i.e., while stopping at the traffic signal or waiting in traffic. To maximize the downloadable payload per vehicle served by a RSU within a limited time window, we consider multi-band RSUs and ECUs as transmitting and receiving nodes, respectively. We consider legacy RF (radio frequency), mmWave (millimeter Wave), and visible light communication (VLC) bands at the RSU to provide large capacity links to the ECUs, respectively. However, the sub-channels of these frequency bands suffer from different blockage characteristics. We formulate this as a tradeoff problem in this paper in the presence of vehicular blockers, and propose a thompson Sampling (TS)-based opportunistic band selection to alleviate the computational burden on both the communicating RSU and ECU nodes. Based on extensive computer-based simulations, we demonstrate the performance of our proposal in contrast with an optimal (centralized) baseline, as well as other comparable heuristic-based solutions.

the agriculture sector is crucial in meeting societal requirements in a world where there is food insecurity and malnutrition. One of the biggest issues that crops confront is pests. Pests are creatures that live in undesirable places and harm humans, animals, plants, etc. Pests have the potential to harm plants and impede growth. the quantity and quality of the crops are directly impacted. Pre-and post-harvest pests and illnesses are thought to be responsible for at least 30 to 40% of the world’s agricultural output being lost. In an effort to manage or control diseases and pests, humans also devote a lot of time and resources to developing and applying new pesticides. these pesticides may have negative effects on the environment and people’s health when used improperly. Given that pest infestations significantly reduce crop quality and cause major crop damage, farmers have a tough time recognizing agricultural insects. the disadvantage of traditional insect identification is that it requires qualified taxonomists to rightly recognize insects on the basis of physical traits. this article gives a comparative analysis of various methods for picture classification and pest identification. the article chooses the most effective method for classifying pest images and utilizes machine learning to suggest pesticides that are accessible in India that adhere to ISO criteria.

this paper presents detailed analysis, and operation of Asymmetric Half Bridge (AHB) converter topology and shared switch converter topology for 4-phase Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) drives. Compared to an asymmetric half bridge converter, shared switch converter reduces the number of switches and diodes. Simulation results show that both topologies give the same results of phases flux, phases current, torque electric, and speed. However, some switches in shared switch converter controlled more than one phase. So, the number of switching at operation speed condition is twice more than other switches on asymmetric half bridge or shared switch converter. the simulation results are made by MATLAB/SIMULINK.

the apparent similarities between skin conditions have made medical diagnosis difficult. Although melanoma is the most well-known type of skin cancer, other diseases have recently been responsible for a large number of fatalities. One of the biggest challenges in creating a dependable automatic categorization system is the absence of massive data. A deep learning (DL) system for identifying skin cancer is presented in this paper. the rapid development rate of melanoma skin cancer, its massive price of surgery, and its mortality rate have all heightened the need for timely diagnosis of skin disease. Most of the time, treating cancer cells requires time and careful detection. the commitment to deep learning powered by machine learning (ML) has been repeatedly shown in the medical sector. Skin cancer categorization has benefited significantly from growing study attention since it is amenable to visual pattern recognition. Studies have revealed that DL-based image classifications may be utilised to enhance skin cancer diagnosis or are on par with or even outperform human specialists. In this study, we provide a deep learning architecture that can identify skin cancer. Five state-of-the-art convolutional neural networks were trained using transfer learning to provide a simple classifier and a hierarchical (with two stages) classification that can differentiate between seven different species of moles. Experiments were conducted using data from the HAM10000 database, a huge collection of dermatoscopic pictures, with the use of data augmentation methods to boost results. the DenseNet201 network performed well in this experiment, as seen by the high classification accuracies and F-measures achieved with very few false negatives. the simple model outperformed the 2-levels model, with the best result coming from the first level, or a binary classification between nevi and non-nevi.

the development of smart manufacturing systems is being driven by a variety of diverse needs for the dependability of equipment and the prediction of quality. In order to accomplish this objective through the use of machine learning, a wide range of approaches are being investigated. the management and protection of one’s company’s data presents yet another challenging aspect of doing business. In order to cope with fraudulent datasets, machine learning and internet of things technologies were utilized. these technologies were used to protect system transactions and manage a dataset. Because of this, we were able to find solutions to the problems that we had previously discussed. the gathered information was organized and examined with the help of big data techniques. the Internet of things system was constructed using the Hyperledger Fabric platform, which is a private computer network. In addition, a hybrid prediction strategy was utilized for the defect diagnostic as well as the defect forecasting. the latest machine learning techniques were utilized in order to model the complexity of the environment and estimate the genuine positive ratio of the quality control system. the quality control of the system was evaluated using these pieces of data.

It has long been a challenge for us to contribute to waste reduction. that is why we have been dealing with the idea of using waste windscreen foil for the production of sustainable materials for several years. Our "environmental friendly" 3R (Reduce–Recover–Recycle) composite materials for the customized industry represent a considerate environmental solution and are an excellent example of our comprehensive thinking. Application of the recycled materials into the industry depends on the customer’s interaction with the final product manufacturing process. the priority is to respect customer requirements directly on the production line. In their manufacture, recycled polyvinyl butyral (PVB) is used, which comes from the windscreen recycling process, and reinforces are the high strength fabrics. Smart materials can be divided into two areas: load-bearing materials that ensure the rigidity and strength of the structure and at the same time impact protection, and materials providing certain active functions, especially process control, information transfer, servo drive, efficient conversion, energy storage, and so on. Ideally, several features are combined in one component using "smart materials." the advantage of materials is that they minimize the environmental impact and contribute to raising awareness of the usefulness of this future commodity. © 2022, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

this paper describes the design of an adaptive controller based on a barrier Lyapunov function (CBLF) that solves the trajectory tracking problem of a hybrid robotic structure with an event-driven regulator. the selected robot is a fully actuated Cartesian-delta device composed of 5 Degrees of Freedom (DoFs); the first 2 DoFs correspond to the Cartesian robot, and the last 3 DoFs for the delta device. this adaptive controller considers the state restrictions for the end-effector position and the set of joints. the activation function of the adaptive event-driven controller is defined according to a convergence quality indicator, and its adjustment laws for the control gains were derived using a control barrier Lyapunov function. An experimental test is presented to prove the algorithm performance. the robot tracked the reference trajectories considering that the robot works in two stages; one for the serial and the other for the parallel one. the adaptive scheme a better performance than the proportional- integral-derivative (PID) control.
