there are subjects in which teaching and learning is hard by experience. Some subjects in physics, maths or computing seem to be difficult by nature. Teachers test many ways to help student learn these subjects. In computer Programming the approach seems to be using higher-level languages, concepts and abstractions. It seems reasonable that languages similar to human language can ease the task of computer programming Similar ideas are explored in other subjects. However, this seems contradictory withthe way we construct knowledge: lower-level concepts support the development of higher-level ones. Is it possible to master higher-level concepts without previously mastering lower-level ones? Present work questions two underlying ideas that are basis of nowadays teaching: that lower-level languages like machine code and assembler are difficult by nature, and that lower-level concepts can be skipped by better teaching higher-level ones. Two experiments and one activity are presented. Evidence gathered contradicts both ideas and suggests that low-level concepts might be much more relevant than thought for computer programming.

An encounter with a virtual person can be one of the most compelling experiences in immersive virtual reality, as Mel Slater and his group have shown in many experiments on social interaction in VR. Much of this is due to virtual reality's ability to accurately represent body language, since participants can share a 3D space with a character. However, creating virtual characters capable of body language is a challenging task. It is a tacit, embodied skill that cannot be well represented in code. this paper surveys a series of experiments performed by Mel Slater and colleagues that show the power of Virtual Characters in VR and summarizes details of the technical infrastructure used, and Slater's theories of why virtual characters are effective. It they discusses the issues involved in creating virtual characters and the type of tool required. It concludes by proposing that Interactive machinelearning can provide this type of tool.

Our work focuses on user trust and the impact of UI design on business professionals' level of engagement when using machinelearning (ML) recommender applications to accomplish their business tasks. In order to achieve the purpose, the case study is Resume Matching;a web-based application which aims to provide recommendations of the best matched talents for recruiters. Due to the nature of the service provided by Resume Matching and its target users, we need to design its UI to engage recruiters to gain trust on the automatic recommendation. Till this end, we have created an iterative and incremental process of designing and testing the UI components of Resume Matching. this paper presents our design and testing processes, our findings and a set of guidelines on machinelearning User Trust Improvement (ML-UTI) Research Model for increasing user trust level to end users through effective UI design.

the emotions evolved in human face have a great influence on decisions and arguments about various subjects. In psychological theory, emotional states of a person can be classified into six main categories: surprise, fear, disgust, anger, happiness and sadness. Automatic extraction of these emotions from the face images can help in humancomputerinteraction as well as many other applications. machinelearning algorithms and especially deep neural network can learn complex features and classify the extracted patterns. In this paper, a deep learning based framework is proposed for human emotion recognition. the proposed framework uses the Gabor filters for feature extraction and then a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for classification. the experimental results show that the proposed methodology increases both of the speed training process of CNN and the recognition accuracy.

this paper proposes the notion of posthuman gesture as a conceptual framework for approaching the increasingly complex notions of agency within digital instrumental system design and performance. Posthuman gesture is a synthesis of Barad's notion of posthuman performativity and current research of gesture in musical and digital instrument design contexts. An overview is provided of an approach to instrumental system design that took place in the context of a larger interactive dance work, followed by a discussion that applies the posthuman gesture framework to this example project.

Withthe increased digitization of businesses and consumers, it is now not unusual for consumer businesses to solely engage withtheir customers through digital channels. Many such app driven businesses adopt a freemium business model, whereby use of the entry level service is free, whilst provision of premium content and services is for a fee. With no person to person contact withtheir customers, these businesses must rely on consumer data analytics to guide decisions on consumer marketing to incentivize users to adopt the premium services. this business scenario provides the motivation for this research project. In our research, using machinelearning classification techniques, the team identified the key customer app usage attributes which were the main predictors of future paying subscribers.

Affect estimation consists of building a predictive model of the perceived affect given stimuli. In this study, we are looking at the perceived affect in full-body motion capture data of various movements. there are two parts to this study. In the first part, we conduct groundtruthing on affective labels of motion capture sequences by hosting a survey on a crowdsourcing platform where participants from all over the world ranked the relative valence and arousal of one motion capture sequences to another. In the second part, we present our experiments with training a machinelearning model for pairwise ranking of motion capture data using RankNet. Our analysis shows a reasonable strength in the inter-rater agreement between the participants. the evaluation of the RankNet demonstrates that it can learn to rank the motion capture data, with higher confidence in the arousal dimension compared to the valence dimension.

When a pianist effortlessly glides across the keyboard during an improvised solo, the musician is executing a series of movements informed by years of practice ingrained with musical knowledge. this paper proposes an analogous approach that enables Robotic Musicians to learn about its degrees of freedom and physical constraints through "practice" in the form of Deep Reinforcement learning. We use a Deep Q Network (DQN) to train a virtual agent representing a real 4-armed robotic musician, to motion-plan the optimal sequence of movements given a musical sequence through a learned strategy instead of a search strategy. Early results from our proof-of-concept system demonstrate that DRL can achieve optimal control of a musical agent, learning a form of bi-manual coordination in the process.

In today's world of technology AI has become immersing part of our life. humaninteraction withmachines has been escalating drastically withthe time period. As a result, People started expressing their thoughts over social media. Along withthis human and machineinteraction, it has opened new ways of solutions to help improve our society. Withthis proposed tool in this paper we have introduced modified way of using word embedding to convert text into numeric form by preserving its context. To learn behaviour pattern of individual person with Word2vec model combined withmachinelearning algorithm to help detect changes in behaviour of a person over period of time. this research project will be of immense benefit to Psychologist/Psychiatrist and help government as it analyzes and monitor a person's mental health and will also help in classifying the normal users from the non-normal users at early stages to shortlist the victims of psychological problem to help focus government organization for their treatment. these organization can reach out those people who don't want to visit a psychiatrist because they see it as some kind of a taboo.

this work presents the development of an interactive didactic system for the learning of the cascade control technique of industrial processes, which uses an immersive virtual environment for the emulation of a plant behavior which can be monitored and controlled through an HMI (human-machine Interface). the virtual environment has been created through computer Aided Design software and a graphic engine and, in addition, peripheral devices are used to achieve the immersion and interaction withthe environment. Finally, the experimental results that validate the system when it is tested with a real or simulated process are presented.
