One way to design complex systems is to use an event-driven architecture. model driven engineering (MDE) promotes the use of different abstract concepts, among which are the UML state machine, composite structure elements and their associated visualizations, as a powerful means to design such an architecture. MDE seeks to increase software productivity by automatically generating executable code from state machines and composite structures. To this end, a code generation approach in MDE should support all model elements used at the design level. However, existing code generation approaches and tools are still limited, especially when considering concurrency, event types, and pseudo states such as history and junction. Furthermore, in the literature, the combination of component-based design and UML state machines is supported by only a few existing approaches. this paper explores this combination and provides code generation patterns and framework-based tooling support for the combination and complete and efficient code generation from UML state machines. We extend a well-known state machine code generation pattern with concurrency support. In order to verify the semantics of generated code, we execute code generated by the proposed framework with a set of state-machine examples that are part of a test-suite described in the recent OMG standard Precise Semantics Of State Machine. the traced execution results comply with the standard and are a good hint that the execution is semantically correct. Regarding code efficiency, the code generated by our approach supports multi-thread-based concurrency, and the size of the generated code is smaller compared to considered approaches. Moreover, we demonstrate the practicality, feasibility, and scalability of the proposed approach with two case studies. © Springer international Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature 2018.

the credibility of software systems is an important indicator in measuring the performance of software systems. Effective analysis of the credibility of systems is a controversial topic in the research of trusted software. In this paper, the trusted boot and integrity metrics of a software system are analyzed. the different trust chain models, chain and star, are obtained by using different methods for credibility detection of functional modules in the system operation. Finally, based on the operation of the system, trust and failure relation graphs are established to analyze and measure the credibility of the system.

To improve their service quality modern organization employees have to understand and put in action latest procedures and rules while coping with quickly changing contexts and decreasing resources. To this end a model-based architecture with interrelated enriched models is required in order to fosters an informative learning approach in the learning-by-doing paradigm. Such architecture enables organization employees to learn by accessing and studying enriched business process models and related material in a process-driven learning approach. software Requirements are the basis of high-quality software development process, each step is related to SR, these represent the needs and expectations of the software in a very detailed form. the software requirement classification (SRC) task requires a lot of human effort, specially when there are huge of requirements, therefore, the automation of SRC have been addressed using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Information Retrieval (IR) techniques, however, generally requires human effort to analyze and create features from corpus (set of requirements). In this work, we propose to use Deep Learning (DL) to classify software requirements without labor intensive feature engineering. the model that we propose is based on Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) that has been state of art in other natural language related tasks. To evaluate our proposed model, PROMISE corpus was used, contains a set of labeled requirements in functional and 11 different categories of nonfunctional requirements. We achieve promising results on SRC using CNN even without handcrafted features.

With the rapid development of computer and wireless communication technology, multimedia communication on mobile terminals has also been a growing concern of people. Traditional communication mode of the client is too conservative, will produce large errors, strong constraints. To compensate for the shortcomings, a software development model for mobile Internet clients based on embedded video phone is proposed, according to the voice, video and network transmission three areas to improve the stability and precision of the system. Experiments show that the establishment of mobile Internet client model based on embedded video telephony have strong applicability and high accuracy.

Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) build mechatronic, variant-rich systems using components from several suppliers in industry sectors like automation. the OEMs have to integrate the different components to the overall system based on a virtual layout. For this purpose, the suppliers provide geometrical information via the standardized exchange format STEP. Beyond the geometrical information, the OEMs need additional logical and technical information for the integration task as well as the variant handling. For that reason, STEP provides an extension mechanism for extending and tailoring STEP to project-specific needs. However, extending STEP requires extending several capabilities of all involved tools, which prevents the project-specific utilization of the STEP extensions mechanism. In order to cope with this problem, we presented in previous work a model-driven approach enabling the flexible specification of STEP extensions and particularly the automatic derivation of the required capability extensions for two involved tools. Nevertheless, the OEMs still need to apply several engineering tools from different domains to consider logical as well as geometrical constraints between product variants. In this paper, we hence combine our previous approach with extended feature models that consider conventional logical and particularly geometrical information, thereby enabling a holistic product line engineering for mechatronic systems. By means of an automation production system example, we illustrate how OEMs can orchestrate their overall supply and development processes through the combination of both approaches. © Springer international Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature 2018.

this work reports on early results from CITADEL project that aims at creating an ecosystem of best practices, tools, and recommendations to transform Public Administrations with more efficient, inclusive and citizen-centric services. the goal of the recommendations is to support Governments to find out why citizens stop using public services, and use this information to re-adjust provision to bring these citizens back in. Furthermore, it will help identifying why citizens are not using a given public service (due to affordability, accessibility, lack of knowledge, embarrassment, lack of interest, etc.) and, where appropriate, use this information to make public services more attractive, so they start using the services. While recommender systems can enhance experiences by providing targeted information, the entry barriers in terms of data acquisition are very high, often limiting recommender solutions to closed systems of user/context models. the main focus of this work is to provide an architectural model that allows harvesting data from various sources, curating datasets that originate from a multitude of formats and fusing them into semantically enhanced data that contain key performance indicators for the utility of e-Government services. the output can be further processed by analytics and/or recommender engines to suggest public service improvement needs.

One major reason of failure in IT projects is a problem in requirements given by stakeholders, such as incomplete, inconsistent, and incorrect requirements. Requirements engineering (RE) is a phase in software development life cycle that plays a critical role in determining software requirements from user requirements. therefore RE could be very influential in determining software quality. Factors that influence the process of RE are organization culture, application domain, and the characteristics of the project. Characteristics and attributes of the IT project should determine the choice of RE processes and techniques. In this paper we present the adaptive process of RE which is based on IT projects characteristics and attributes. We believe conducting RE process based on the right IT projects characteristics and attributes will give more benefits in terms of effectiveness and efficiency. Case-based reasoning approach was adopted for the adaptive process of RE in this study. the IT project parameters that used are project size, complexity, requirements volatility, project category, degree of safety criticality, time and cost constraints. Output of adaptive process of RE is a RE process model recommendation. To evaluate the RE adaptive process, prototype software were developed and used three IT projects as case studies. Results from the experiment showed that the RE process model recommendation helps developer in conducting RE process and the output recommendation satisfied its users.

the work presented in this paper addresses the general problem of verifying if models structurally compliant to a given meta-model also satisfy the constraints specified on it, whether integrity or tool-specific ones. For accomplishing such constraints satisfaction verification, a completely model-driven strategy is proposed, whose core idea is to perform the checking by applying an M2M transformation to the model to verify, hence yielding a model which represents the verification result. this output model encapsulates every detected constraint violation, allowing their later manifestation, automatic fixing or any other kind of processing. Besides providing a meta-model for formalizing those diagnostic models gathering constraint violations, the presented methodology enables the systematic and straightforward development of verification tools, each one targeting a given couple of domain meta-model and constraints set. therefore, it supports the actual objective of this work: A strategy for the development of a generic tool for the verification, suitable for any constraints set or meta-model. the functional foundation for designing such a generic tool is that it will be based on a generator (meta-tool) for the on-the-fly creation of the required specific tool (M2M checking transformation), thanks to the Higher Order Transformation (HOT) technique. © 2017, Springer international Publishing AG.
