Geometric correction is essential in the preprocessing of remote sensing images, ensuring the precision and reliability of spatial data, crucial for further analysis such as target recognition and feature extraction. Nevertheless, handling a lot of high-resolution images often encounters computational inefficiencies and limited real-time processing capabilities. this paper introduces a parallel optimization approach for geometric correction on multi-DCU heterogeneous clusters, leveraging a detailed thread mapping strategy tailored to the DCU architecture. It capitalizes on the specific hardware characteristics and execution models of the DCU for parallelprocessing. the study delves into the common bicubic interpolation resampling method used in geometric correction, optimizing thread mapping to match the DCU's computational and storage architecture. this method allows a single thread to handle multiple pixel computations, enhancing data reuse during interpolation. the research accomplishes parallel geometric correction processing on DCU and significantly curtails memory access through optimization, improving algorithmic efficiency. Comparative experimental outcomes show that the proposed parallel strategy markedly outperforms traditional serial CPU processing, multicore CPU processing, and unoptimized DCU acceleration, evidencing substantial speedup across processing different image sizes.

Investigations of the parallel computing of the non-ideal 3-D space detonation wave propagation are presented in this paper on the hi-performance computer based on CC-NUMA architecture. Upon analyzing and testing the previous serial program, the computation of curvature, the first-order and the second-order difference were determined to be the main objects of parallelization. Some processing techniques were applied to convert the serial program into parallel program, such as the strategy of "Divide and Conquer", the balance of the loading distribution. Numerical simulation computation of the parallel program results in a great increase of computing speed of the non-ideal 3-D space detonation wave propagation.

this paper develops and evaluates a low-cost parallel computing platform for the implementation of parallel algorithms in Power Engineering applications. the proposed approach utilises an existing local area network without incurring any additional hardware costs. Application of computational intelligence techniques based on the developed computing platform to the economic dispatch problem is outlined. the performance of genetic algorithms in parallel and cluster structures and their abilities in coping time constraint applications are also demonstrated. It is found that when the workload is large, a parallel computing structure should be exploited for cost-effectiveness purpose.

Rail defect has been harmful to the safety of railway operation for a long time. At present, there is an urgent need for a fast and high-precision rail surface defect detection method which can be applied to comprehensive inspection vehicles. In this paper, we propose a lightweight Bimodal Rail Surface Defect Detection Method, called parallel-YOLOv4-Tiny, for bimodal rail surface defect images. We design a parallel feature processing strategy for bimodal image feature extraction in parallel-YOLOv4-Tiny. A series of experiments show that parallel-YOLOv4-Tiny with CIOU loss function can achieve a mAP of 92.07 at 88 FPS on a single GPU. parallel-YOLOv4-Tiny has a much better performance than other original YOLOv4-Tiny methods, which shows the validity and advancement of parallel-YOLOv4-Tiny. parallel-YOLOv4-Tiny can meet the practical application requirements of high-speed railways and improve the efficiency of daily railway patrol inspection.
