this paper presents a novel method for SAR deception jamming recognition based on feature map learning. According to different characteristics of the true echo and deceptive jamming in time domain and frequency domain, feature maps are extracted and enhanced from the single channel SAR data through different processing. By organizing different features as different color channels in the imagery, a neural network which is good at target detection and recognition is applied to identify the false target. the proposed method is verified through simulations.

Purpose: this paper aims to study the validity of using pre-trained transformers to extract customer sentiment from written reviews. Internet retailing and e-commerce have enabled users to post reviews expressing their opinions about products and services. Online customer reviews support not just new customers, who can use these prompt actionable pieces of information to decide on their purchase, but also business and research areas, who can use it to obtain the changing and emerging customer and market requirements, i.e., the voice of the customer. Although customer online reviews may be very subjective, the use of machine learning (ML) methods to extract relevant customer feedback is in order. Recently, transformers took Natural Language processing (NLP) by storm breaking state-of-the-art benchmarks on every NLP task. Design/methodology/approach: Five pre-trained transformer models (Finbert, Bert-base, Finbert-tone, DistilRoberta, and Twitter-Roberta) are applied to an Amazon database of automotive products for opinion mining/sentiment analysis of written reviews, which are then compared with the quantitative 5-star rating given by the consumer. Considering the 5-points Likert scale in the star rating, the comparison to each model prediction was done by mapping the stars given on the dataset into 3 classes, where the positive sentiment is equal to five and four stars, the neutral is equal to three stars, and the negative is equal to one and two stars. A 6th ensemble model was also developed to take in the predictions from the transformers and make a prediction. this model was added to investigate if a pipeline would perform better than a single transformer. Findings: the results indicate that although transformers may be a useful tool to extract customer satisfaction from customer reviews, choosing an appropriate model is critical to obtaining reliable metrics. the air-conducted (AC) sound is usually used in the task of acoustic scene classification (ASC). Compared with the AC sound, bone-conducted (BC) sound has the unique advantage of shielding background noise. However, the amount of information contained in BC sound is far less than that in the AC sound due to its limited frequency bandwidth. In this paper, an acoustic scene classification method for BC sound is proposed with a small BC dataset. Firstly, the prosodic features are combined with the spectral features to capture more information, and feature fusion is adopted. Secondly, in order to deal with the small BC dataset, transfer learning is used with a large AC dataset. Finally, a deep learning network based on local residual learning is proposed. the experimental results show that the proposed method achieves the superior performance over the reference models.

Early neural network models have been used in image recognition and analysis. As time moved on, neural network usage expanded into music generation. Most generative models of music only focused on single-track generation. While much development had been produced, multi-track music composition and multi-instrumental band arrangements had been ignored. this paper introduced the Music Arrangement and Timbre Transfer System (MATTS) model, which further optimized existing models of Music Transformer and Differentiable Digital signal processing (DDSP) library to achieve computer music composition and instrumental band arrangements while maintaining realistic elements such as melodic sequences, repetitions, and imitations. Not only did it maintain realistic aspects, but our model also offered controls of pitch and amplitude. there were two forms of composition, where one with preconditioned user input and one without. MATTS could unconditionally compose and arrange a band to play the music it generated.

Security criteria fixation and analysis for all the web applications developed and deployed on the internet is very much required due to the excess usage of many users accessing the application. the application has to respond in a fraction of nanoseconds for users to remain attached to the application. In this scenario, the need to ensure the basic security requirements of Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability is an important task. To analyze the security requirements penetration testing is being done. the process of manual penetration testing is slowly shifting towards automated testing systems. Security experts are designing automation tools to detect vulnerabilities. this paper deals with binding the known multiple vulnerabilities to find the overall vulnerability of a web application. the impact of the vulnerability is analyzed by combining multiple penetration testing tools which automatically classify the exploit model to gather information using the signature patterns (Regular Expressions). Finally, the exploit information can be viewed in the form of a report so that security patches of the vulnerabilities can be performed.

Indoor positioning based on signal fingerprint has always been a hot research topic. But most research requires the object or person to be positioned to carry a positioning device, which is not applicable in some special scenarios. this paper selects LoRa (Long Range) as the research target and proposes an indoor passive positioning system based on LoRa fingerprint. We design and implement the signal sent from the LoRa node devices to the LoRa gateway device and get the RSSI of the nodes, also send it to the proxy server for receiving and processing. In the data processing stage, the difference-limiting filtering algorithm is used to eliminate abnormal data, and the GaussianNB (Gaussian-Naive Bayes) algorithm is used to learn and train the model. through experiments, the accuracy rates of the two-class and multi-class prediction in the range of 3m are 97.1% and 95.5%, respectively, which verifies the feasibility of applying LoRa signal to indoor passive positioning. © 2022, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Microseismic event detection is paramount for surveilling subsurface activities including hydraulic fracturing, geothermal energy extraction, and evaluating seismic hazards. Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) technology provides high-resolution spatial and temporal datasets, rendering it an indispensable instrument for identifying microseismic events. Nonetheless, the substantial volume of data and the intricate spatiotemporal interrelations inherent in DAS data present considerable obstacles to conventional signal processing techniques. this research presents a novel approach utilizing Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) for microseismic event detection in DAS data. By displaying the spatial and temporal relationships between DAS sensing points as graph structures, the GNN identifies the underlying spatiotemporal patterns linked to microseismic events. According to empirical results, the suggested approach outperforms conventional machine learning frameworks, achieving higher detection accuracy and more computational efficiency.

Arm reaching is a fundamental skill for robots to finish other tasks like grasping, assembly and so on, which require highly precise control. therefore, robot reaching via relative positioning is discussed in order to reduce the influence of sensing errors. However, these works only consider Cartesian space without any constraint of joint space, which results in the unnecessary movements and energy wasting. In this paper, we propose to use a reinforcement learning (RL) algorithm to add constraints of joint space in robot reaching based on relative positioning. With our method, some unnecessary movements of joints in robot reaching are prevented. Besides, as for sample efficiency in RL, we propose to train a forward model for generating synthetic data to accelerate learning. the experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

In today’s information-driven world where different things are connected together using various sophisticated embedded systems to collect the data for processing and decision making. these embedded systems are designed using various hardware components developed using several VLSI designs and technologies which focus on quality integrated circuits (IC). But these ICs during design and development phase have security concern of trigger-based hardware which can perform malicious activity or lead to destructive behavior of system. this malicious hardware is known as Hardware Trojan. there are lot of researchers who suggested various methods to detect the Hardware Trojans and to mitigate their effect. Research work is carried out for HT detection majorly from two perspectives: one is through ICs layout image analysis with physical parameter validation and second is during design phase where hardware description language along with assertion checkers are used to verify and validate the design to be implemented inside the IC or FPGA. In this paper, various research works carried for HT with their future perspective along with challenges in different approaches are discussed in detail. As hardware software co-design is widely used in embedded application development and also due to advancement in technology, it is possible to use the machine learning (ML) approach to identify the HT in SoC design. these various approaches are studied in this paper, therein tagging the security threats and requirements to provide the recommendation for future research in this field. © 2022, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
