In many universities around the world, Java is popularly used for teaching basic programming to novice students. To accommodate this reality, we have developed Java programming Learning Assistant System (JPLAS) as a self-study tool. JPLAS offers several types of exercise problems that have different learning goals and difficulty levels. However, they assume that learners are familiar with a code editor to type programming code, although they may be first-year undergraduate students and have no experience. In this paper, we present the Code Typing Problem (CTP) as a new type in JPLAS to help them practice code typing in an editor. CTP has two levels of exercises, namely, basic and advanced, to enhance its usage. the basic CTP requests to type the given code as it is in input forms. the advanced CTP gives a code with several errors of incorrect elements and requests to type the corrected code by understanding the grammar and behaviour. the error injection algorithm is presented to add errors in a code automatically. For evaluations, we generated 17 basic and 6 advanced CTP instances, and assigned them to 21 second-semester and 46 first-semester students in State Malang Polytechnic, Indonesia. their answer results showed that most students solved all the instances correctly, which confirms the validity. However, as the number of solving students decreased in the advanced CTP, improvements will be necessary in future works. © 2024 IEEE.

this paper presents nonlinear optimal classification trees, an advanced approach developed to enhance the accuracy and interpretability of classification trees. By integrating kernel-based methods and symbolic functions, our models provide a more precise approximation of decision boundaries, resulting in compact and interpretable trees. Additionally, we introduce an improved margin-shifting algorithm that increases the model's robustness. Experiments on 21 public datasets confirm that our methods can significantly surpass traditional decision trees and previous optimal tree models in and with more compact models, establishing them as an effective solution for complex classification tasks. © 2024 IEEE.

To tackle the challenges of poor power quality and high line losses in remote mountainous areas due to long distribution lines and heavy loads, we propose a distributed energy storage optimization method based on genetic algorithms. Considering the geographic constraints of these regions and the ongoing development of electricity infrastructure, the method maintains grid safety and cost-effectiveness through a two-tier model for optimizing energy storage placement and capacity. the upper layer focuses on minimizing the installation costs of energy storage devices by optimizing their locations and capacities, while the lower layer aims to minimize distribution system operation and maintenance costs by reducing network losses and voltage deviations. An adaptive genetic algorithm is used for the upper layer, and a solver is employed for the lower layer. A simulation on a remote mountainous distribution system demonstrates that, compared to centralized energy storage, the optimized configuration of distributed energy storage improves both the economic efficiency and the stability and reliability of the system. © 2024 IEEE.

With ever-advancing microprocessor technology and System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures, it is required to effectively interface and connect the high-speed devices on the board/chip along with the relatively low-speed and low-frequency components. this is where on-chip interconnects come into the picture with the ARM-based AMBA bus systems. While the AMBA protocol is further divided into multiple types of sub-protocols optimized for high or low speed peripherals, this work will solely focus on the advanced Peripheral Bus (APB) Protocol. this paper aims to provide a comprehensive survey of some of the notable research and works that have been done to design and verify this protocol, utilizing a spectrum of different tools and methodologies. this survey looks at previous works where different DUTs are used as slave for the APB interface (DAC/ADC and Inter-Integrated Circuits), and where assertion, code-based and functional coverage have been obtained, with a maximum of 100 and 97 percent functional and code coverage respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

this article discusses the importance of the IoT perception layer testing platform, analyzes the shortcomings of existing platforms, and proposes a new platform design scheme that integrates automated testing, intelligent analysis, and visual display. this platform aims to comprehensively test the performance of perception layer protocol, improve the credibility of testing by simulating real scenarios. the system design includes a three-tier architecture, functional modules, and database management, supporting remote login, online programming, data collection, and real-time monitoring. the platform also implements effective communication between browsers and servers, as well as between servers and perception nodes under the B/S architecture, providing users with rich testing functions and real-time feedback. © 2024 IEEE.

By studying the appearance of peppers, according to the top of the peppers are easy to form the characteristics of the string, this design selects the comb type picking head, the overall width of the comb blade is 150 mm, and the plate thickness is 1 mm. Use Solidworks to draw the whole machine structure and picking head design part of the transmission structure. In addition, when picking peppercorns need to consider the battery problem, it is impossible to carry a large number of batteries each time picking, so this design uses utility complementary off-grid photovoltaic power generation system, charging the battery of the picking machine by the utility, plus a 620 W high-power photovoltaic modules to the picking machine for power supply, to extend the picking machine's working time is 15%. By analyzing the functional requirements of the pepper picker, designing it in the hardware and software parts, determining the minimum system composition of the system master control composed of STM32 chip, and building the simulation model, and verifying the reasonableness of the picker by simulation with Proteus software. Finally, it is analyzed in terms of economic benefits, environmental benefits and social benefits. the design research has important practical significance and can significantly improve the picking efficiency and reduce the cost of manual picking. © 2024 IEEE.

Recently, the rapid development of robotics technology has made enhancing autonomous navigation capabilities in complex environments increasingly essential. Path planning is key to improving the autonomy of robots, while localization is the process of determining the robot's accurate position within the environment. Given this, this research delves into path planning and localization technologies based on the Robot Operating System (ROS), comparing and analyzing path planning algorithms such as Dijkstra, A*, RRT and its variants, as well as particle filter localization techniques. By discussing the performance of these technologies in practical applications, we highlight their strengths and weaknesses in high-dimensional spaces and complex terrains and proposes corresponding optimization strategies to enhance robots' navigation capabilities in complex environments. the research indicates that the appropriate combination of various path planning and localization technologies in different application scenarios can effectively improve the performance of robotic systems, providing a theoretical basis and practical guidance for the optimization of robotic navigation systems. © 2024 IEEE.

With the rapid development of the global aviation industry, the sharp increase in the number of flights has put forward higher requirements for air traffic management, especially in ensuring flight punctuality and aviation safety. this study focuses on flight scheduling problems in air traffic control, using the Mixed Integer programming (MIP) algorithm to optimize scheduling strategies. Specifically, the article constructed a mathematical model that includes multiple constraints such as airport capacity, flight time windows, and flight connectivity, and iteratively solved the problem to find the optimal or approximately optimal scheduling solution. this method not only improves the efficiency of scheduling, but also enhances the flexibility and practicality of scheduling schemes, providing an effective tool for aviation control departments to reduce flight delays, improve airspace utilization efficiency, and passenger satisfaction. In sunny and cloudy weather, the accuracy of the algorithm can reach 97% or above, indicating that the algorithm can accurately schedule flights under normal conditions. the research results of this article can provide theoretical basis and technical support for the modernization of China’s aviation control construction. the research results of this article can to some extent enrich the basic theory of flight scheduling and provide new ideas and methods for solving practical problems. © 2024 IEEE.

In the case of continuous high density, all types of airspace are not effectively utilized, and at the same time there are some airspace divisions that are unreasonable, which leads to the aircraft not being able to follow the predetermined routes. the FPL (flight plan) altitude is determined by the flight crew according to various factors, such as the weight of the aircraft, the route distance and the wind field at high altitude. the FPL (fight plan) altitude is decided by the crew according to the weight of the airplane, the distance of the route, and the wind field at high altitude, etc. Fuel consumption is relatively low when flying at this altitude. Unreasonable flight altitude not only increases fuel consumption, but also causes serious pollution to the environment. In this paper, an optimization method based on DRL (Deep Reinforcement Learning) algorithm for dynamic planning is proposed. By constructing a multi-stage decision-making model, the optimal flight altitude adjustment strategy is designed by comprehensively considering the factors of flight safety, airway congestion and meteorological conditions. the final system response time experiments show the efficiency and stability of the DRL algorithm in complex decision-making environments, which is suitable for real aviation control optimization. © 2024 IEEE.

Based on the current background of scenic spot management and tourism planning in China, this paper establishes an uncertain tourism route expectation-constrainted programming model under the framework of uncertainty theory. Finally, eight attractions in Jinan are used as practical cases to illustrate the usefulness of the model. the research results show that the proposed model can effectively alleviate the problems of unreasonable allocation of tourists' time and cost in the traditional model, and make the layout and programming of routes more reasonable and efficient. © 2022 IEEE.
