We studied fast plastic scintillation detector array. the array consists of four cuboid bars of EJ200 ， each bar with PMT readout at both ends. the geometry of the detector, energy deposition in the scintillator ， signal generation and energy response have been simulated based on Monte Carlo. the detection efficiency and the real events selection have been obtained while the background noise has been reduced by using two-end readout timing window coincidence. We developed an off-line analysis code, which is suitable for massive data from the digitizer. We set different coincidence timing windows, and did the off-line data processing respectively. It can be shown that the detection efficiency increases as the width of the timing window increases, and when the width of timing window is more than 10 ns, the detection efficiency will slowly grow until it reaches saturation. therefore, the best timing window parameter τ as 16 ns is obtained for the on-line coincidence measurement. When exposure to 137Cs γ -ray irradiation, a 12 cm position resolution can be achieved while reaching the timing resolution of 0.9 ns. the pulse integration of signals of the detector is in proportion to the energy of incident particles. Furthermore, the geometrical mean of the dual-ended signals, which is almost independent of the hit position, could be used as the particle energy. therefore, this geometrical mean as the energy of incident particle is calibrated via the Compton edges of 60Co source, 137Cs source and the natural 40K, 208Tl, and the reliability of the calibration results has been improved. A large proportion of industrial systems are represented by LTI transfer functions. the PID controller is one of the most used; the lead-lag controller is a more practical alternative. this paper focused on the design of lead-lag-like controller by optimization of the time-domain objective function. the particle swarm optimization algorithm is selected to finding the optimal solutions. the proposed method force all the particles to search the optimum more exhaustedly. Designers can make a choice in a variety of specifications. If the plant could be modeled as a LTI transfer function, the proposed method will design the controller to be able to approach the required specifications. Computer simulations reveal that the performance can be fully meet or very close to desired.

Failures of avionic and aerospace control hardware, caused by negative environmental impacts like increasing heat or cosmic radiation, can lead to silent data corruption and undetected incorrect system outputs. Traditionally, redundant and specifically protected hardware is used, which is expensive and available only on restricted markets. the application of software-implemented fault detectors like SWIFT, SWIFT ECF, or Software Encoded Processing is a promising alternative solution that offers the opportunity to use cost effective, but less reliable hardware. However, this entails generation of extra source code, resulting in a considerable computational overhead and, as a consequence, leads to performance degradations. this article introduces an approach that aims minimizing the negative performance impact while maintain ing the required system reliability level. It is shown that selective and balanced application of the software-implemented fault detectors solely to the most critical parts of the control software is an efficient system design solution. the presented approach uses a combination of two methods for reliability and performance analysis. Both methods are used for the quantitative exploration of different strategies of selective protection and allow finding a balance between system performance and reliability. the article demonstrates the application of the introduced approach using embedded flight control software of an UAV. the project deals with the implementation of new security elements to an access system designated for sites and premises that have to be protected against unauthorised entry or where access to certain parts of the site should be restricted. the electronic access system can substitute single key systems. the system offers a wide range of applications (registration and signalling of non-standard entries, forced entries, failure to close) and combination with external security systems. the access control system can be deployed separately or as a part of an attendance control system registering arrivals or adherence to prescribed working hours.

In three-dimensional (3D) integrated circuit (IC), a large number of dummy through silicon vias (TSV) are required for thermal and thinning concerns. However, limited attention is paid to the fact that these dummy TSVs can be multi-functional and used for timing purposes. In this paper, we propose to use those "timing wasteful" dummy TSVs to replace bit line delay cells. Also, a TSV allocation algorithm is presented to optimize the TSV array layout. Finally, three memory designs are implemented to verify the feasibility and reliability of the proposed technology. It is found that all delay cells in these 3 memories can be replaced by TSV arrays.

As the design complexity increases, three-dimensional (3D) integrated circuit (IC) design has become an industry trend. However, the testing of a 3D IC is a design challenge. In addition to minimize the test application time (including pre-bond testing and post-bond testing), the number of test pads of each layer should also be taken into account. In this paper, we propose an integer linear programming (ILP) approach to perform the 3D IC test scheduling with test pads considered. Different from those previous works, our objective is to minimize the weighted sum of the test application time and the number of required test pads. Experimental results consistently show that our approach works well in practice.

A hybrid approach integrating a Taguchi orthogonal table with an irregular design of experiments (DOE) method was proposed for selecting an optimal material structure of blue organic light emitting diodes in order to achieve multi-objective quality characteristics of devices. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was adopted to identify significant factors before regression models were obtained. Finally, an optimal material structure was determined by maximizing a desirability function relating to selected critical quality characteristics including the driving voltage, the luminance, and luminance efficiency.
