this paper analyzes the mathematic model of QOS(quality-of-service) based multicast routing with nodes delay. Based on the original, an optimization model called GP-GA is proposed by hybridizing Gene-Pool (GP) with traditional Genetic Algorithm (GA). the model uses the gene-pool to save the better individual during the process of each generation. In the mean time, the crossover and mutation operator are improved to accelerate the convergence. As the problem may be easily trapped by local optimization, the evolution strategy based on 'reserved and non-reserved' is also constructed to enhance the ability of finding optimal solution and decrease the probability of 'premature' phenomena commendably. the emulation experiments demonstrate that the probability of GP-GA is higher than the general GA in converging optimal solutions, and the algorithm is also effective for the adjustment to the dynamic multicast routing.

Hardware and software platforms for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are almost as diverse as their application areas, with very limited standardization. Moreover, heterogeneous programming abstractions put high barrier in application development and there is hardly any support for application debugging, except for a few blinking LEDs. Similar problems have been solved in application domains that have similar cost constraints, such as automotive, by the use of model-based design. We address the lack of model-based design tools for the WSN domain by providing a framework (based on Simulink, Stateflow and Stateflow coder) in which an application developer can model a WSN application by using Stateflow constructs and then use a single model to perform multi-platform Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) simulation and platform-specific application code generation. © 2010 IEEE.

Opposition-based differential evolution (ODE) is a recently proposed DE variant, which has shown faster convergence speed and more robust search abilities than classical DE. the concept of opposition was utilized for the first time in optimization area to propose ODE. It is based on two important steps, generation jumping and elite selection. Some studies have pointed out that the first step improves diversity and provides more potential points to be searched (diversification), while the second step decreases diversity and accelerates convergence speed (intensification). However, there is not any experimental study to support this explanation. In this paper, we present an experimental study to analyze how the diversity changes in ODE. the experimental results confirm the explanation, and show that ODE makes a good balance between generation jumping and elite selection.

Support Vector Machine (SVM) is a machine learning method based on Structual Risk Minimization (SRM). In traditional SVM, different selections of hyper-parameters have a significant effect on the forecast performance. Differential evolution algorithm (DE) is a rapid evolutionary algorithm based on the real-code, which can avoid the local optimization by the differential mutation operation between individuals. Simplex searching algorithm is a direct searching algorithm which solves nonconstraint nonlinear programming problems. this paper introduces the application of SVM in the spatial interpolation in geosciences field. It proposes a new method of optimizing parameters of SVM based on DE algorithm and simplex algorithm. Firstly, DE algorithm is used to obtain the initial value of simplex algorithm, then the simplex local searching strategy is applied to optimize SVR parameters for the second time. Moreover, the spatial interpolation simulation is conducted on the standard dataset of SIC2004. the case study illustrates that the proposed algorithm has higher forecast accuracy and proves the validity of the method.

Delivering desired QoS to the applications is one of the most important challenges in next generation networks. Designing efficient queue management in midway nodes leads to improvement in NGN efficiency. this paper presents fair Efficient active Queue Management (EQM) mechanism for congestion avoidance and control in next generation networks. Proposed AQM mechanism uses instantaneous queue length to detect incipient congestion. Different traffics with various QoS requirements are routed in NGN. EQM uses linear optimization problem to control congestion in network nodes. Switching equipments drop arrival packets based on optimization problem outcomes. Proposed AQM mechanism is designed to accompany a transport-layer congestion control protocol such as TCP. We have simulated EQM using Opnet. Results show that proposed mechanism achieves its goals 1 .

An overview on the modular machines is given. the paper presents a new concept for the development of the controllers' software. the advantages of GT are presented. Two grouping approaches are detailed: the bottom-up approach and the top-down approach. A Genetic Algorithm Clustering is presented for the automatic grouping.

We study the optimization of binary LDPC codes for the q-ary symmetric channel with moderate alphabet sizes q. For q = 2(m), a coding scheme can be viewed as a front-end mapping q-ary symbols to groups of m bits connected to a binary code. We derive a factor graph representation of the front-end and show that it can be processed with a complexity linear in m, the number of bits per symbol. We perform an extrinsic information transfer chart analysis and use it for code optimization.

Soft Input Soft Output (SISO) decoders iteratively exchanging intermediate results (extrinsic information) between themselves lie at the core of turbo decoder architectures. the implementation architecture could be serial, parallel or network on chip (NoC) based. In this paper, we present a technique for bit-width reduction of exchanged extrinsic information and analyze the impact of it for different implementation architectures. the methodology is investigated over two kinds of turbo decoding system, both based on the Max-Log-MAP algorithm. First is a serial concatenated convolutional code (SCCC) decoder and the other is a WiMax (IEEE 802.16e) parallel concatenated convolutional code (PCCC) decoder. For the SCCC decoder, bitwidth of the extrinsic information can be reduced from 8 bits down to 4 without significant bit-error-rate (BER) degradation. For the WiMax case it can be reduced from 8 bits down to 5 with a BER degradation of 0.2 dB.
