this study examines how the introductory engineering course can engage students in learning Industry 4.0 concepts and enhance their digital technology skills through simulation-based design activities. the students used cloud-based design and simulation tools to resolve a system operation problem. they examined the motion of a digital model of a satellite under micro -gravity conditions and detected its instability (Dzhanibekov effect). then, they redesigned the model and verified its motion stability through simulation. the experimental setup combined the cloud-based CAD platform Onshape and the simulation software Blender. the students' performances, understanding, and perceptions were evaluated using conventional research tools and the data analytics tools of Onshape. Findings showed that the students successfully performed the workshop assignment, correctly answered the questions about the factors that cause motion instability and appreciated the contribution of the workshop. the study demonstrated the potential of online simulation-based design practices for educating novice engineering students.

A collective adaptive system is made up of cooperating entities that can adjust in real time to evolving, open environments and shifting requirements. To ensure such a system meets its intended goals, rigorous engineering must employ suitable methods and tools. this introduction offers a short overview of the 5(th) edition of the track "Rigorous engineering of Collective Adaptive systems" and briefly presents the 20 scientific contributions, organised into seven thematic sections. Large Ensembles and Collective Dynamics, Knowledge, Consciousness and Emergence, Automated Reasoning for Better Interaction, Modelling and engineering Collective Adaptive systems, Analysing Collective Adaptive systems.

Since the invention of cloud computing technologies, the term "cloud-native" has been used. In recent years, research into cloud-native technology has grown along withthe development of cloud computing technology. One of the most popular software architectures of our time, cloud-native architecture integrates cloud-native technology to conventional distributed architectures and aligns withthe characteristics of modern cloud usage. this article examines the history of cloudnative technologies, warehouse information systems, and pertinent literature. It suggests a three-tier design for a Cloud-Native Warehouse Management and Control Platform (CWMCP), combining the traits of automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS). the study examines the functioning of the data layer, service layer, and application layer as well as their logical relationships and discusses each layer's specific design, deployment, and features in detail. Based on operational requirements of AS/RS warehouses, we developed a business analysis framework integrating algorithms, and created a prototype cloud-native warehouse management system (CWMS). We then analyzed the platform's advanced architecture and verified its effectiveness. CWMCP is in high demand and a promising trend for enabling digital and intelligent transformation of AS/RS systems.

Learning how to model softwaresystems or components is considered to be a central part in the education of future computer scientists. Students are usually introduced to this topic in softwareengineering courses. As de facto standard, most of them teach the Unified Modeling Language (UML) for creating diagrams in specific contexts. this task regularly presents students with significant challenges, as has been widely discussed in literature. therefore, it is not surprising that there are some tool-supported approaches provided by educators. these are often based on observations. However, comprehensive research on actual students' requirements and aspirations for such tools has so been missing. the contribution of this paper will be a qualitative requirements elicitation for students requirements for tools to support teaching of UML diagrams in softwareengineering education.
