Breast cancer seems to be the most deadly cancer for females globally. Mammographic masse detection is essential for the early diagnosis of breast cancer. the manual detection of breast masses using texture analysis from digital mammograms is hard because of its diverse patterns. Automatic detection of breast masses from mammograms with computer algorithms at early phases could help physicians to avoid unnecessary biopsies. In the current study, we investigated the limitations of texture analysis for mass detection by creating an MR taxon filter bank using Laplacian of Gaussian. We created a deep taxon feature fusion bank for the EfficinetNet DCNN to classify benign and malignant masses. the experimental results were examined on the public CBIS-DDSM and the local PINUM dataset. Our method yielded 0.96 and 0.98 accuracies, respectively. the results findings illustrated that our method significantly outperformed than the MobileNet, AlexNet, DenseNet, and previous studies. © 2022, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Technical systems have reached a complexity rendering their behaviour difficult to comprehend or seemingly nondeterministic. thus, self-explaining digital systems would be a strong support for tasks like debugging, diagnosis of failures, reliably operating the system or optimization. To be useful, self-explanation must be efficiently computable in a technical system and must be understandable to the addressee. the addressee might be another technical system at the same or another system layer or a human. We provide a conceptual framework for self-explanation including formalization of the inherent concepts of explanation, understandability etc. We instantiate these generic concepts on the example of Mealy machine models of embedded systems and illustrate their use via example from autonomous driving.

the growing complexity of software systems poses significant challenges to error prevention, underscoring the importance of automatically predicting errors in software modules. this enables developers to optimize their use of limited resources. Concerns about anticipating software bugs and vulnerabilities have long been prevalent among software developers and the technology industry. Traditionally, identifying software errors required expertise or a deep understanding of the application's problematic modules. this research study has introduced a machine learning-based predictive model for software defect evolution, designed to facilitate uninterrupted software operation. the study has also evaluated the model's efficacy using established criteria such as accuracy, precision, recall, specificity, and F1 measures. the research findings demonstrate outstanding classification performance, ranging from 98% to 100%, achieved using SVM across three error datasets, as assessed by the F1 score. this study offers valuable insights for software researchers and practitioners, equipping them with automated decision-making capabilities to select appropriate tasks for their specific applications.

After the pandemic, humanity has been facing different types of challenges. Social relationships, societal values, and academic and professional behavior have been hit the most. People are shifting their routines to social media, and gadgets and getting addicted to their isolation [5]. this sudden change in their lives has caused an unusual social breakdown and endangered their mental health. In mid of 2021, Pakistan's 1st Human Library was established under HelpingMind® to overcome these effects [9]. Despite online sessions and webinars, HelpingMind® needs technology to reach the masses. In this work, we customized the UI/UX of a Go-Together Mobile Application (GTMA) to meet the requirements of the client organization. A very interesting concept of the book (expert listener/ psychologist) and the reader is introduced in GTMA. It offers separate dashboards, separate reviews or rating systems, booking, and venue information to engage the human-reader with his/ her favorite human book. the loyalty program enables the members to avail discounts through a mobile application and its membership is global where both the human-reader and human-books can register under the platform. the minimum viable product has been approved by our client organization. © 2023 IEEE.

Transmission lines, devices employed for the transmission of electrical signals, can be used for the approximation of non-linear partial differential equations (PDEs) also in the nonlinear case. To this end, transmission lines are used to spatially discretize PDEs allowing the problem to be solved numerically even for intricate boundary conditions - e.g. at intersection of many wires in the system. Using transmission lines to solve the Korteweg-de Vries Equation (KdV) allows for efficient and accurate numerical solutions, as it provides a method to investigate the propagation of wave-like information in nonlinear and dispersive media with multiple dimensions. In the present paper a software developed in C# is presented, the latter employs discretization by transmission lines and the Runge-Kutta 4–5 integration algorithm to numerically solve the KdV equation in the one-dimensional case. the implemented program, named "WireExplorer," is able to simulate the propagation of solitonic pulses on different types of circuits composed of one or more wires, even in the case of intersections. Such conditions are not canonically solvable by resolution of the KdV equations, while approximate numerical resolution allowed the evaluation of these intricate cases. In particular, the obtained results showed the subdivision of the wave into smaller components, at intersections between wires, which propagate in different directions showing also the formation of dispersive tails propagating in the direction opposite to that of the main wave. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

the present paper proposes the concept of a software and technological platform of digital twins based on the methods of energodynamics. Energodynamic theory, which incorporates modern nonequilibrium thermodynamics, mechanics, theory of electric and magnetic fields, electrodynamics, is a unified approach to describe processes of different physical and chemical nature within a macroscopic approach. this provides an opportunity to use the proposed software and technological platform of digital twins in various subject areas (in particular, in engineering and technology, in medicine, in meteorology, in life safety). the proposed in this paper software and technological platform of digital twins, based on the methods of energy dynamics, has a microservice architecture. Such architecture ensures high reliability of the platform, as well as its horizontal scalability. this makes it possible to build digital twins of sufficiently complex systems in the presence of a sufficient number of computational nodes.

there is a great deal of interest in using Intrusion Detection systems (IDSs) as a key component of system defense at the moment. To secure a network IDS analyzing network traffic from a location on the network or computer system. It is very difficult and time-consuming to distinguish between network traffic that is intrusive and normal. An analyst must examine that much and such a wide range of data. It is necessary to determine the sequence in which intrusions have occurred on the network connection. Current network traffic activity must be reflected by a way to detect network intrusions. Using genetic algorithm and machine learning approaches, a novel approach was developed to uncover intrusion characteristics for intrusion detection systems. the rules are generated using a genetic algorithm for decision trees. Rules can be applied to determine intrusion characteristics, and then implemented into a genetic algorithm for protection. In this way, in addition to identifying the presence of an intrusion, one may stop the incursion by rejecting it.

In order to solve the safety problems of non-contact operation and personnel transfer between operation and maintenance vessels and offshore wind turbines, a boom structure of the jib type offshore transmission device with a lift and sink compensation function is proposed. this paper takes the offshore transmission device and the six-degree-of-freedom motion platform as the research object, bases on the method of software co-simulation, uses Simcenter 3D motion to build its dynamics modelling, simulates the lifting and sinking motion caused by the waves in MATLAB, and then transfers it to the hydraulic system established by AMESim through the interface module to carry out the solution, so as to complete the virtual prototype design and simulation of the offshore transmission device. the simulation results show that the transmission device can substantially reduce the influence of waves on its motion under the effect of rise and sink compensation, which provides a theoretical basis for its physical model and an idea for the simulation of other complex electromechanical-hydraulic systems.

Nowadays, cyber-physical systems (CPS) are used to integrate physical and software units and provide real-time, continuous, synchronous/asynchronous computations. the systems are useful in many applications. To provide security and privacy for CPS systems, a novel encryption/decryption for CPS based on Fibonacci Q-matrix was proposed by software implementations. However, as the values of parameters in encryption/decryption processes become large, the area costs become higher. To make this method suitable for very large scale integrated (VLSI) implementations, we used canonical signed digit (CSD) recoding methods to recode the parameters for encryption/decryption processes and reduce the number of partial products. the area costs were reduced, leading to area-efficient implementations. According to the analysis, we reduced the area by 40% with shorter delays in the encryption/decryption processes. the proposed method is useful for VLSI implementations for Fibonacci Q-matrix-based encryption/decryption schemes.
