Human resource in maintenance remains a challenge in the overall business labor budget, labor costs, and the management thereof. this study aims to develop a model for maintenance management which fosters an optimum human resource in maintenance. the study uses system dynamics modeling to determine the maintenance management system's behavior. the 4IR technologies are integrated into this model and simulations are conducted to determine the 4IR technologies' impact analysis using descriptive statistics. Post these simulations, the results revealed that the implementation of 4IR technologies yields an overall gain in maintenance human resource optimization by 27.46% gain when compared to a similar system of maintenance management without the 4IR technologies' deployment. Another benefit of the 4IR technologies deployment is analyzed using standard deviation and found to foster a predictive maintenance strategy. this study concludes that the predictive maintenance strategy intensifies the optimization of the overall human resource in maintenance.

this paper introduces an innovative edge-cloud-based modular architecture to enhance the capabilities of multi-robot systems operating in resource-constrained environments. this architecture addresses the limitations often encountered in resource-constrained platforms with lightweight microprocessors by enabling efficient offloading of computationally intensive tasks to hybrid edge-cloud clusters, thereby augmenting computational prowess. through a comprehensive experimental evaluation, we substantiate the effectiveness of our approach by offloading a rover's perception system to a hybrid edge-cloud cluster, enabling efficient object detection. Our findings highlight the architecture's adaptability, showcasing cloud clusters' speed advantages and local edge clusters' robustness in handling higher network throughput. this insight informs the recommendation to deploy high-throughput applications on edge clusters and computationally intensive tasks with storage and reduced network demands on cloud clusters. Furthermore, this work emphasizes the benefits of containerization and load balancing in modular robotics, facilitating platform-independent development, resource optimization, and enhanced software distribution security. Containerization's minimal impact on CPU and RAM usage has gained prominence in mobile robotic applications. However, supporting mixed-criticality software jobs remains a challenge. this paper presents performance results in federated and adaptive edge-fog-cloud networks, providing valuable insights for planning tasks with mixed-criticality criteria.

this research aims to identify the required competencies needed to integrate robotics activities into science education, particularly due to the lack of comprehensive models that address the necessary competencies for teachers to effectively teach science withrobotics. A list of competencies needed by middle school teachers to integrate robotics activities into science classrooms was developed in the following steps. First, an initial list of competencies was developed based on a literature review in the field of robotics education that focused on various aspects of the TPACK model and open observations during a teachers' development program. Second, experts and experienced robotics teachers were interviewed regarded the competencies needed to develop and implement robotics activities suitable for science education, which resulted in an updated list of competencies and adding additional competencies in the context of 21st-century skills. third, Fifty-five teachers rated the items on a scale from 1-not necessary to 5-very necessary. Factor analysis was performed and the items were examined concerning the rating they received. Understanding how robotics can be coordinated with pedagogy and scientific knowledge for effective teaching, the present study adapted a TPACK instrument for use of robotics to teach classroom science and reformulated it with 21st-century skills.

Industry 4.0 technologies are gaining traction with every aspect of modern manufacturing and distribution procedures. In the context of supply chain management, where the flow of products and information is of the utmost importance, these technologies play a crucial role in achieving accuracy, speed, and flexibility while being cost effective. A central node of each supply chain is the distribution center. the main functionalities of distribution centers concern receiving, storing, packaging and dispatching goods, while managing all necessary information related to them. the paper at hand provides a short yet representative literature survey for the Industry 4.0 technologies that have been adopted so far in the logistics applications of contemporary distribution centers. the standard processes are outlined and examined in terms of their automation with novel applied or theoretical technological solutions. In addition, the emerging processes of distribution centers are discussed including demand forecasting and automation in last-mile delivery. Discussions and future trends are also presented, and the adoption pace of the new technologies is analyzed.
