With the proliferation of network connected embedded devices exploding the market, many competing technologies are vying to be the next generation's standard for the Internet of things paradigm. Among these, LoRaWAN has emerged to be a promising contender with its open platform and open source stack implementations. Since its inception in 2015, LoRaWAN specifications have come under heavy scrutiny from many security researchers, who have discovered several vulnerabilities for the technology. In this paper, we inspect the changes introduced in the newest version of the specification (v1.1), and analyze them to see if the discovered vulnerabilities have been addressed or not. Our analysis shows that while LoRaWAN has made strides specifically on replay attacks and confidentiality, there is room for improvement yet in areas of integrity, availability and authentication. While some of these improvements are possible through implementation guidelines, others may require modifications of the specifications to apply appropriate countermeasures to eliminate the vulnerabilities. Future revisions to the LoRaWAN protocol should consider the body of vulnerability knowledge and countermeasures proposed in literature to create the foundations for a secure and robust IoT network.

We present a transmission power control scheme for RPL, the IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low-power lossy network [9], that controls the routing topology to achieve load balancing in a low-power multihop wireless network. We show that higher-than-required transmission power results in congestion and load balancing problems under heavy traffic, and transmission power cannot be optimized for reliable packet delivery when equal power is used by all nodes. To address these issues, we propose an adaptive and non-uniform transmission power controlled RPL, called PC-RPL, that significantly improves the end-to-end packet delivery performance compared to the standard RPL.

In an indoor Internet of things (IoT) Network such as warehouse, factory and stadium, etc., a large number of IoT devices such as sensors, actuators, robots and drones, etc., continuously capture raw data over a regular interval of time. the captured raw data is then wirelessly transmitted to the gateways, which can be considered as the storing gadgets. these devices can gather, aggregate and analyze sensor data before transmitting to the Cloud. Continuous transmission of similar type of data by the IoT devices can lead to data redundancy, excessive channel utilization and bandwidth usage, etc. To overcome these problems, we develop a Compressive Sensing based Data Prediction (CS-DP) model which predicts data at the gateways by learning the data pattern received from IoT devices. Since there is a possibility of data loss while in transmission from the IoT devices to the gateways and at the gateways due to buffer overflow and other reasons, we propose a Compressive Sensing based Data Reconstruction (CS-DR) mechanism instead of retransmitting the data by the IoT devices. In addition to these, we also propose a Compressive Sensing based Data Estimation (CS-DE) technique which can bring down the volume of the data to be communicated to the cloud and improve the channel and space utilization of the system. All the above Compressive Sensing techniques are deployed at the gateways instead of the IoT devices or the cloud. this improves the system performance in terms of delay, communication and computation complexity and makes the system realizable in practice. Based on real data-set provided by an indoor test-bed, we conduct extensive MATLAB simulations to compare the performance of our proposed schemes with respect to the state of the art.

Visually disabled people come across many challenges on a daily basis, some challenges are new and some routine. Since blind people cannot detect the obstacles or move to any destinations independently. Most of the times the blind typically use traditional canes that cannot detect the objects higher than the waist. the innovation with one of the wearable technology aids underprivileged visually impaired people with a new merge for eyes-free navigation in an environment that is in identifying the obstacles ahead of them and moving to the destination through a navigation path. More importantly, when visually challenged people using this wearable technology need not carry any other additional support instruments. this technology is embedded into the shoe part, making the footwear powerful in determining the obstacles ahead of the bearer. the prototype consists of two modules namely the phone module and shoe module. the shoe module is incorporated with a lightweight controller device and sensors whereas the phone-module includes GPS system. the controller in the shoe module is attached with a Bluetooth transceiver which syncs to a smart phone app that uses Google maps to direct the person and facilitates the user by providing the information about the path. Once the user selects the destination then the route is laid, the direction is constantly updated to allow the user to go according to the pattern from being dynamically adaptive and avoids any diversion from a planned directional path. the signal sent from the phone module will be determined by the Bluetooth and a corresponding message is sent to the controller in the shoe module. the major objective in this paper is to keep the device smart and cost efficient. the software used is reliable and stable.

IoT based Smart shoe system for the blind is a system made with the help of ultrasonic sensors paired to an Arduino UNO board. Internet of things is all about making physical objects communicate with other objects or even with humans. It is an enabling technology which has a rapid development and growth in the market. In our India there are almost 40 million blind people among which 1.6 million are children. Blind people face great difficulty to travel independently. they have to depend on others in many aspects of their life. the Major problem is when they walk on the road. With a stick in hand they cannot detect every obstacle that comes in their way. the Smart shoe design provides a longterm solution for the blind to walk on roads independently. the smart shoe will help the Blind person to reach his destination independently. It is built using IoT Technology in which the shoe will be embedded with various sensors, Microcontroller and buzzers. the shoe warns the user by making noise with the buzzer when he/she walks in front of an obstacle. To improve the efficiency, Smart glasses are designed using IoT which is also embedded with sensors and helps in detecting the objects by covering a larger area. the smart shoe and the smart glasses communicate and coordinate with each other to ensure that the user does not collide with any obstacle in his way.

Food waste is one of the greatest economic and ethical challenges in the world. Empowering consumers with the ability to assess the quality of fruit can be a game changer for reducing waste and motivating a healthier diet. In this paper, we present Meta-Sticker a novel low-cost non-invasive solution for accurate fruit sensing via a sub-thz metamaterial sticker. the key idea is to exploit fruit as a substrate for resonating meta-atoms. Changes in the chemical composite of the fruit over time (e.g., sugar and water concentration) yield variation in the dielectric properties of the fruit (here substrate). Interestingly, this would affect the resonant frequency of the Meta-Sticker. We design Meta-Sticker to resonate in the sub-thz bands for their sensitivity to water, mm-scale penetration depth, and non-ionizing features that offer high-resolution inferences from the inner pulp of the fruit. We develop a model that translates the resonance of Meta-Sticker to well-known ripeness metrics, namely Dry Matter and Brix. We fabricate Meta-Sticker on paper and conduct extensive over-the-air experiments. We demonstrate that our system can estimate Brix and Dry Matter in three different types of fruits with an average Normalized RMSE value of 1.24%, an error that yields a negligible impact on taste and is imperceptible by the consumer. Our design is non-invasive, low-cost (less than a cent), passive, biodegradable, and conformal.

Recently,many low-cost micro electro mechanical systems(MEMS) IMUs have emerged for only several hundred US *** comparison to high-end IMUs,an entire Inertial Navigation System(INS) can be implemented with smaller size/volume,lower weight and *** the other hand,they have a relatively lower accuracy due to their larger systematic errors,such as bias,scale factor and drift,which highly depend on disturbance and ***,the original signal output of low-cost IMU must be processed to reconstruct smooth attitude *** the application of mobile robot navigation,the algorithms need to be run on embedded processors with low memory and processing *** paper analyses various error sources in the attitude measurement for Mobile Robot using low-cost MEMS-IMU and discusses how to improve measurement accuracy by minimising the errors and optimising fusion *** presents the following aspects:investigating a cheap open source MEMS-IMU,enhancing ADC resolution by oversampling and averaging,filtering the noise caused by vibration,improving attitude estimation using sensor fusing.

Based on the development and application status of mobile manipulator hybrid robot, this paper takes the handling process requirements of intelligent factories in China as the research objective to design and develop a composite robot platform system. the hardware system mainly includes mobile platforms, manipulators, and sensors. the software system mainly consists of control systems, software architectures, algorithm libraries and corresponding communication protocols. this platform system has the key technologies of scene information perception, mobile path planning and self-collision detection of the manipulator during the grasping process, which are necessary in engineering project applications. the corresponding innovative algorithms are embedded in it, and scene tests and effect analysis are carried out in a memory module production factory. Test results show that, compared with mainstream products and application technologies in the field, this mobile manipulator hybrid robot can use multiple sensors to obtain scene information and conduct high-precision data fusion, simultaneously meet multiple measurement indicators of mobile path planning, and quickly achieve pre-collision warning without the application of sensors, verifying the effectiveness and advancement of the independently developed platform system.

the Internet of things (IoT) has emerged as one of the most vital technologies of the twenty-first century in recent years. IoT can be described as the common physical objects that are digitally connected. things in IoT refers to all the physical objects like sensors that can be used to be embedded with software. A drone is a type of unmanned aerial vehicle. It does not have a human pilot on board, as the name implies. Because of its compact size and lightweight mechanism, it has a lot of potential to carry out tasks that will make our lives easier. Drones may be controlled via different mediums like wifi transmissions and radio frequency signals. In the case of radio frequency drones, the drones are typically controlled via a remote controller, although wifi equipped drones may also be controlled by devices with wifi access, such as smart phones. Due to the qualities of the drone, they have become popular for use in both legal and unlawful activities, such as delivering illegal materials across country borders. Anti-drone systems are thus being developed in anticipation of their potential use in future smart cities. However, the cost of each anti-drone technology is currently too exorbitant to be employed in civilian settings. As a result, we've offered a notion for creating an anti-drone system utilizing IoT technologies in this article. Making an anti-drone system with Raspberry Pi and Wifi-Pineapple is the subject of this study. Wireless assaults can knock down or even take control of wifi-enabled drones, forcing them to make a safe or emergency landing. In this paper we have tried to bring down the drone in the vicinity of the system by means of a wireless attack using the above components. the wireless attack consists of deauthentication attack and wireless password cracking. In this study, the findings and the attack success rate have been described. the DJI Tello, a WIFI-enabled drone, was the one used in this experiment, and the system was automated so that

We are concerned with the development of a telehealth system for the rehabilitation of neck disorders, specifically faulty neck posture. this is a principal source of neck pain (NP), which is a widespread musculoskeletal disorder that has significant societal and economic implications. We are particularly interested in harnessing the potential of virtual reality-based training, which is highlighted by a growing body of research on physical therapy, in realizing an engaging medium for exercise. Hence, it enhances patients' commitment and adherence to sustained training. this immersive training is aimed to be delivered through a system that is data-focused, userfriendly, engaging, and lends itself well to tele-health settings. For maintaining a minimal system structure, we capitalize on the embedded sensors of standalone virtual reality (VR) headsets for measuring performance data before encrypting and uploading it to a dedicated cloud service. In this study, we present and discuss a framework for designing and developing a VR-based system for delivering exercises targeting FNP. We conclude this research by discussing the results of a usability study, conducted on twenty-one symptomatic and asymptomatic undergraduate engineering students, in which the developed system achieved a high usability score. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to address neck disorders using a tele-health system that adopts solely embedded sensors of standalone VR wearables 1 .
