Using solar panels to power wireless sensor nodes is feasible in most of WSNs applications. We present an efficient solar-charging system and a remote energy-profile monitoring system which can monitor the dynamic charging procedure of wireless sensor nodes in different environments. In this work, we proposed a pollution monitoring system for vehicles using IoTs. this system measures the real-time pollution generated by vehicles on road. this paper describes the design of the system for sensing the pollution using sensor, arduino, smart phone and mobile applications for displaying the personalize air pollution information for individual vehicle. We evaluate the proposed approach on real-data experiment and it shows some preliminary results.

this demonstration shows the actual application of our wireless AMI[1] system, AMR Xpider. this system consists of a sink node and multiple relay nodes. Hundreds of sensing nodes, which are connected to the relay node, transfer metering data to the MDMS (meter data management system). A total of 20,000 AMR Xpider units have been installed in apartments in South Korea for gas metering during the past three years. the AMR Xpider units are used for actual billing purposes. they operate with battery life of at least five years (generally, around seven years), with an average communication success rate of 98%.

this poster shows the work-in-progress results of an effective method for predicting the residual battery energy in WSN nodes including the battery behavior. this method uses a hybrid approach consisting of a deterministic part by counting credit points for any operation of the sensor node and a model-based State-of-Charge (SoC) estimation based on battery voltage and temperature. It is applied for Li-Ion accumulators on modified Tmote Sky motes. For demonstration purposes the method is used for cluster head selection in a cluster-based topology formation algorithm to ensure equal distribution of the cluster head role among the network nodes based on the residual energy.
