Event detection is an essential task for wireless sensor networks. In this paper we present the design and implementation of MC-Detect, an efficient scheme for detecting and estimating events in the network. With sparse samples processed at the basestation, our approach reduces the transmission and computation cost of low power sensor nodes. Our demonstration shows the real-time event detection in practice on a small network of TelosB motes.

Loss of connectivity in deployed wireless sensor networks can be quite disastrous for the network. A "cut" (which separates the network into two or more components incapable of communicating with each other) is usually hard to detect. An algorithm which enables each node in the network to detect whether a cut has occurred anywhere in the network is demonstrated.

Traditional fall detection is only based on acceleration analysis. In this work we present a novel fall detection method that also utilizes posture and context information. this information can help reduce both false positives and negatives. Our solution also strives for low computational cost and fast response.

In order to avoid transmitting raw data to a base station, sensor nodes are trained to cooperatively recognize deployment-specific events based on the data sampled by their sensors. As both training and event detection are performed without the need for central coordination or processing, only information about the detected event needs to be reported.

We describe Emuli - a method of replacing sensor data with a network-wide model of stimuli events. sensor readings are generated on demand from the modeling data stored at each device. this approach allows for both repeatable and variable experimentation with a network of physical devices for existing and planned sensing modalities. We illustrate the approach with (i) a light sensor and (ii) a hypothetical range sensor used in a tracking application.

this work presents the STDnet, a simulation-based environment for applications development in wireless sensor networks settings. It enables run-time interactions withthe network for the purpose of observing the behavior of algorithms/protocols in the presence of various conditions such as phenomena fluctuations, or a sudden loss of service both at an individual node, as well as a collection of nodes.

sensor networks using mobile robots have recently been proposed to provide more flexible and efficient sensing. However, mobile robots in a practical world have many accidents with actuator or communication devices especially in their traveling to the destination. Moreover, in the practical world, there are many obstacles and bad conditioned area for both wireless and movement of mobile robots. In this paper, we introduce a practical scheme for delivering data with concerning a practical world issues.
