Chemical taste is indispensable information in food testing. the technical of electronic tongue system is one of research directions to identify different chemical tastes. this paper focuses on the patternrecognition method based on learning vector quantization (LVQ) neural network. the electronic tongue system designed could identify all the samples of beer, fruit juice and milk successfully in the experiments. the result shows that LVQ neural network is applicable in the patternrecognition of electronic tongue system and can also be used on condition that information is gathered by multi-sensors array. the patternrecognition methods of the universal electronic tongue are proposed in this paper. the effective universal electronic tongue has much advantage over others such as simple methods of patternrecognition and classification, easy training approaches and wider application fields.

Wavelet has important apply in image processing and patternrecognition. In 2008, the wavelet technology was applied to Beijing Olympic traffic guidance transmission successfully, by locating and identifying all kinds of vehicles. this paper carries on research about the construction of binary wavelet from the practical need of signal processing and analysis and provides two types of binary wavelet construction methods: one is symmetrical binary wavelet with zero as centre of symmetry; the other is dissymmetrical binary wavelet with zero as centre of dissymmetry. these results complete the binary wavelet theory and lay a strong foundation for the application of binary wavelet in signal processing and analysis. Meanwhile, this paper also shows the key arithmetic of image denoising with binary wavelet and arithmetic in edge detection.

this paper presents a hybrid intelligent system that automatically recognizes a variety of digital communication signals. the hybrid system includes three main modules: feature extraction module, classifier module and optimization module. In this feature extraction module, a suitable set of the higher order moments up to eighth and higher order cumulants up to eighth are proposed as the prominent characteristic of signals. In the optimization module it is optimized the recognizer design by genetic algorithm for selection the best features that are fed to the classifier. Simulation results show that the proposed technique has very high recognition accuracy with six features selected by optimizer.

In this paper a new image encryption system based on replacement of pixels values by using 2D Memorized Cellular Automata and chaos mapping is proposed. Cellular Automata rules are defined based on chaos mapping and stored in private key. Proposed system have some advantages such as confusion, diffusion, symmetric private key, very large number of secret keys, key-dependent pixel value replacement and increasing system complexity withthe impact of indefinite rules and chaos mapping. Simulation results obtained from the some images at the USC-SIPI database, demonstrate the strong performance of the proposed image encryption system.

Conventional Gabor filter-based approaches are global considerations for the selections of Gabor filters. Owing to fingerprint patterns are full of ridges and valleys; the whole fingerprint can be viewed as the composition of many various local ridge-valley structures. Based on the various local ridge orientations and frequencies, the whole fingerprint is represented by a template of local Gabor filters. therefore, the core point detection and fingerprint matching are directly performed from gray-scale images without preprocessing. As compared withthe global Gabor filter-based approach, the proposed method not only saves memory space, but also speeds up the whole procedure. Testing withthe same database, higher recognition rates are also achieved for the local approach.
