the development of large-scale energy storage systems faces significant technical obstacles, such as dynamic modelling of complex systems and coordinated multi-objective control of energy storage units and the power grid. this paper presents the independent variable state-space modelling procedure of the distributed energy storage system based on the cascaded H-Bridge STATCOM topology. A multilayer control framework is proposed consisting of energy management, linear quadratic current regulator, and a low-level submodule capacitor voltage balancing algorithm. the simulation results of an H-Bridge STATCOM cascade with 15 submodules in each phase show that the system can output both active and reactive power with low switching frequency (1 kHz) and low thD (≈ % 0.63 for 1 pu active power output and ≈ % 0.96 for 1 pu reactive power output) while maintaining the voltage balance of all submodule capacitors, verifying the effectiveness of the proposed modelling method and the control framework. © 2024 ieee.

this paper considers the problem of localizing a static transmitter using a robot with a single receiving antenna and a single communication chamiel in unknown complex environments. Existing solutions using Time -of-Arrival (TOA) and Angle -of-Arrival (AOA) rely on complex wireless communication systems with multiple receive antennas or multiple communication channels, which are not available for robots with off-the -shelf low-cost radios. this paper develops a localization framework using Received Signal Strength (RSS) to estimate unknown channel model parameters considering mullipath fading and spatial -correlated shadowing effects. the robot moves along a predefined trajectory to collect RSS data. AOA information is also estimated and integrated with the robot SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) results to improve the localization accuracy. Numerical simulations and experiments in an indoor environment are conducted. Results show that 90% of the estimation error is smaller than 2 m to localize a randomly placed transmitter in a 10 x 10 m(2) area.

With the advancement of the 'double carbon' goal, the capacity of distributed new energy access to the power grid is continuously improved, and the operational uncertainty of the power system is enhanced, which makes it more and more difficult for the power grid to absorb distributed power sources. In order to solve this problem, a reserve optimization method for new energy power system based on improved particle swarm optimization is proposed by flexibly adjusting the source-load interaction. Firstly, the reserve optimization model of the source new energy power system is constructed with the goal of minimizing the dispatching cost, operation cost and reserve cost, and the reserve optimization configuration of the new energy power system is realized by satisfying the source network load constraints. Secondly, because the constructed model has the problems of difficult solution, strong nonlinearity and high dimension, this paper uses the improved particle swarm optimization algorithm to optimize the model. Finally, through the simulation of ieee39, it is verified that the proposed method can effectively reduce the cost and improve the consumption capacity of new energy. © 2024 ieee.

the landscape of blockchain has grown rapidly in recent years and also the need for data exchange among different blockchain networks. In particular, blockchain bridges have emerged as a solution to create a way for cross-chain communications, improve blockchain interoperability, and transfer of tokens and economic assets. However, their development is not trivial and requires considering several critical aspects. In this paper, we overview the bridge technology focusing on one of its main purposes, i.e. token transfer. then, we investigate the most popular token transfer mechanisms and the main pitfalls and challenges that developers face when implementing bridges. © 2024 ieee.

AC/DC hybrid distribution systems have high controllability and flexibility, which can meet the requirements of topology construction in various scenarios. Especially for the distribution systems with the distributed generation, this hybrid distribution network can effectively realize the high-quality consumption of distributed generation and meet with the high reliability requirements of users. In this paper, the networking interconnection device is explored aiming at the analysis of AC/DC hybrid distribution demand based on the networking principle of AC/DC hybrid distribution system. the structure of AC/DC hybrid distribution system is designed based on DC line interconnection and the scenario-oriented AC/DC hybrid power distribution networking scheme is constructed. © 2023 ieee.

We propose a comprehensive health monitoring of astronauts which is based on Ballistocardiography (BCG). BCG uses high-precision accelerometers to measure the motion of the heart at the body surface. In contrast to conventional methods (e.g. Electrocardiography (ECG)), BCG enables the derivation of heart-related parameters that can otherwise only be recorded by imaging methods such as echocardiography. A huge issue is the signal quality of the acceleration measurement, however, by means of differential arrangement of digital acceleration sensors, the signal quality and also the susceptibility to interference can be reduced when measuring the smallest accelerations. In preparation for a BCG experiment on the international Space Station (ISS), a pre-flight measurement system was developed whose architectural design is similar to the flight hardware, but extended by a reference ECG. To simplify measurement campaigns, the simultaneously recorded BCG and ECG data can be visualized in real time, which will be shown in this demo.

A large number of hubs are used in a Wireless sensor Network to keep tabs on the physical and territorial conditions of a certain region. It's safe to say that most of them are self-employed. In the past, WSN has not been extensively used due to its high energy consumption, difficulty operating in natural environments, and so on. the LEACH convention aims to extend the life of Wireless sensor Networks by creating groups that can lead huge organisations. the LEACH convention selects the bunch head through irregular turns of an adjacent group in order to equally spread the energy load across Wireless sensor Networks. distributed nodes communicate with their group leader through moderate *** nodes lose power and packages are dumped at an edge energy level. An optional node replaces the first by merging the notion of PEGASIS with conventional LEACH, in the suggested framework a modification in LEACH convention to extend the lifespan of the whole organisation and avoid information misery. As a result, the Base Station receives more data packets. Data packet delivery ratio is increased and energy consumption is reduced as a result of this method. © 2022 ieee.

the growing demand for charging significantly impacts the operation and dispatch of power systems with the continuous increase in the number of electric vehicles (EVs) and charging infrastructure. the importance of EVs participating in demand response is becoming increasingly apparent. Compared to other demand-side flexibility resources, EVs can provide more flexible and cost-effective demand response capabilities. Guiding and managing EV participation in ancillary services of the power system aids in ensuring grid security and promoting the integration of new energy sources. this paper calculates the significant potential of EVs participating in grid frequency regulation, expecting to become an essential supplement to power system dispatch and promote the broader application of clean energy. © 2024 ieee.

In autonomous vehicles, precise estimation of control parameters is essential for ensuring safety, adaptability, and energy efficiency. However, standalone estimators often fall short due to their inability to detect sharp turns, wheel skidding, and slippage, along with their high computational demands. this study presents a fusion model that integrates GPS, IMU, and wheel encoder data to accurately estimate control parameters while maintaining safety and adaptability under varying environmental conditions. the model also determines the optimal tack of the vehicle using these estimated parameters. Extensive testing demonstrated the model's superior ability to detect subtle changes, identify wheel skidding and slippage, and outperform state-of-the-art stand alone and fusion models in computational efficiency. this research marks a significant advancement in au-tonomous vehicle technology, offering a robust and sophisticated tool for precise control parameter estimation and optimal path prediction. © 2024 ieee.

Simultaneous increase of power generation through renewable systems and load due owing to the rapid growth in electrified road transportation systems, leads to new challenges in the design, operation, and protection of distribution-level electrical power systems. this paper addresses challenges related to the integration of new sources or loads to a distribution grid through long alternating current lines. the international Council on Large Electric systems medium-voltage benchmark model developed for North America was used for simulation studies. Use cases were developed to illuminate the issues related to long alternating current lines and the usefulness of medium-voltage direct current lines in a distribution network.
