Publish/subscribe systems are widely used as messaging middleware in various scenarios, such as online business, financial trading, and social media. However, the network overhead intro-duced by the pub/sub system can severely impact application performance. Especially in the latency-sensitive applications of the data center, optimizing the latency of publishing or delivering messages of the pub/sub system is particularly important. RDMA network has gained popularity in relevant applications due to its low latency, high bandwidth and ability to bypass the CPU. Never-theless, it is still challenging to design and optimize the pub/sub system using RDMA. through an in-depth analysis of RDMA features, we design and implement FNotify, a high-performance RDMA-accelerated pub/sub system. FNotify optimizes latency and CPU load using in-memory message management and one-sided RDMA primitives for message collection. FNotify also proposes a topic-based partitioning scheme to achieve good scal-ability. We conducted a comprehensive evaluation and analysis on an 8-node RDMA cluster to verify the validity of our design by comparing the performance of FNotify with Apache Kafka (a state-of-the-art pub/sub system) in a typical pub/sub application scenario and various micro-benchmarks. Experimental results show that FNotify improves overall performance by 1.5× to 3.9× and reduces end-to-end latency by more than 20× compared to Apache Kafka. © 2022 ieee.

Efficient energy allocation and utilization are critical challenges in the evolving landscape of decentralized power systems integrated with renewable energy sources. Peer-toPeer (P2P) energy trading offers a novel framework for direct energy transactions among prosumers, enhancing system flexibility and market responsiveness. this paper addresses the complex decision-making processes inherent in P2P energy markets by proposing a Multi-Agent Twin Delayed Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (MATD3) algorithm. the proposed model leverages Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) to aggregate distributed energy resources, enabling autonomous and optimized energy trading within the P2P framework. VPPs act as intermediaries, enhancing market liquidity, optimizing energy distribution, and ensuring supply reliability. the MATD3-based approach effectively manages high-dimensional continuous action spaces and adapts to the dynamic nature of P2P energy trading. Simulation results indicate that the proposed MADRL model reduces overall energy costs and enhances the performance of VPPs in decentralized energy markets. this research contributes to the advancement of intelligent P2P energy trading mechanisms, emphasizing the pivotal role of reinforcement learning in developing sustainable and resilient energy infrastructures © 2024 ieee.

In recent years, flexible capacitive tactile sensors have garnered increasing attention from researchers worldwide. they have focused on enhancing the sensor's preparation method, mechanical properties, sensitivity, and other aspects, making it a significant area of research. this paper presents a simple yet effective approach for fabricating a highly sensitive haptic sensor using the dot matrix printing technique. the sensor's forked finger electrode is prepared through this method, followed by the printing of graphene carbon nitride/ polyvinylidene fluoride (GCN/PVDF) dielectric layer on the electrode. By utilizing the exceptional properties of GCN/PVDF, the electrodes printed on a glass substrate can be successfully transferred to the dielectric layer. this enables the fabrication of carbon electrodes as flexible devices through high-temperature curing conditions, thereby enhancing the overall performance of the sensor. the resultant sensor exhibits excellent mechanical properties and performs admirably in both contact and non-contact systems. Moreover, the sensor is designed and arranged as a flexible wearable touch-sensitive keyboard, capable of accurately capturing the user's touch and duration. this design opens up possibilities for various applications, such as flexible keyboards. Experimental results demonstrate that the sensors prepared in this study possess significant potential for integration into wearable electronic devices. In summary, this paper presents a straightforward yet effective method for preparing a highly sensitive haptic sensor. By leveraging the dot matrix printing technique and GCN/PVDF dielectric layer, the sensor demonstrates excellent mechanical properties and performs exceptionally well in both contact and non-contact scenarios. the successful integration of these sensors into a flexible wearable touch-sensitive keyboard further highlights their potential for various applications in wearable electronics. © 2023 ieee.

the integration of IoT and ML technologies in the healthcare sector has brought significant transformations, enhanced patient care and reducing costs. this research paper presents an innovative idea focuses on developing a comprehensive system for healthcare, incorporating saline fluid control and monitoring, patient communication, and predictive analysis for heart disease. the saline control and monitoring feature employs an ultrasonic sensor to detect fluid levels, with data processed by a NodeMCU. When fluid levels exceed a threshold, alerts are triggered through a buzzer, red LED, and WhatsApp messages sent to medical authorities and a designated relative. the integration of WhatsApp's API bot streamlines messaging. Additionally, to ensure patient safety, a servo motor clamps the saline tube if medical authorities don't respond promptly, preventing blood backflow. the system also includes a glove with sensors for communication among bedridden patients. Heartbeat and temperature sensors monitor vital signs and medical history, transmitted to a software interface developed using ML algorithms and a Java-based GUI. this facilitates data management and analysis for medical authorities, enabling the prediction of heart disease likelihood based on new patient data using ML algorithms. the research paper aims to enhance healthcare efficiency, improve patient care, and reduce response time during critical situations. the key findings demonstrate successful implementation of a comprehensive healthcare system monitoring saline fluid, providing timely alerts, enabling patient communication, and predicting heart disease likelihood. In conclusion, the system utilizes advanced technologies to enhance patient safety, facilitate communication, and assist medical authorities in making informed decisions. © 2024 ieee.

In this paper a new wavelet transform based method for detection and identification of fault location has been proposed in microgrid with distributed Generation (DG). Fault detection is challenging for this DG system due to the bi-directional power flow and the issue of fault current which consists of source current and DG current both during fault. the wavelet transform analysis determines the content of frequency with time simultaneously of nonstationary transient signal. the proposed method evaluates the approximate and detail wavelet coefficients at different level of frequency band by Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) for detection of the fault reliably. this process starts with tracking the signal of phase voltages at terminal of DG, Point of Common Coupling (PCC) and utility side and by DWT decomposition each signal will be processed. the energy of detail DWT coefficients of each faulty signal considering both the symmetrical and unsymmetrical fault have also been computed. this energy content has been analyzed further to identify the location of the fault. this unique and simple technique has been verified successfully using an existing microgrid network in West Bengal, India for unbalanced and balanced fault detection and location of fault.

In recent years, the use of energy harvesting (EH) sensors has led to the proposal of activity sensing systems that are easy to install and do not require maintenance such as battery replacement. In this study, we aim to construct a system that can not only sense but also recognize activities of daily living (ADLs) using only power generated by EH sensors. To achieve this goal, in this paper, we propose a fully EH-based ADL recognition system called Batterfly, which consists of EH analog PIR sensor nodes that can operate with indoor light, continuously senses human movement, and recognizes daily activities through machine learning. We applied the distributed execution method of the activity recognition model with five sensor nodes to five types of activities by five participants, and found that the system could recognize them with an average accuracy of 63.59%, comparable to the performance of the centralized model running on a gateway.

Indoor environmental comfort has become increasingly important, necessitating occupant-centric systems that provide personalized comfort. this trend is particularly notable in light of the increasing frequency of extreme weather events associated with global climate change. this paper proposes a novel framework integrating real-time occupant feedback, multi-sensor data fusion, online modeling, and intelligent sensor technologies to dynamically tailor indoor microenvironments. the framework collects diverse data on built environment and personal health using environmental sensors and wearable devices. It employs online machine learning algorithms to analyze the database and automatically adjust environmental conditions in real-time to match occupants' preferences. In implementing this framework, advanced encryption are utilized to enable swift, localized data processing while preserving privacy. Multi-sensor fusion techniques are leveraged to integrate heterogeneous sensor data into an accurate assessment of occupant comfort. the user interface facilitates occupant feedback to continuously refine the system's reinforcement learning model. By personalizing comfort in a responsive, privacy-aware manner, this framework is expected to enhance occupant well-being and satisfaction, potentially enabling significant energy savings by avoiding overcooling and overheating. the framework represents an innovative application of smart and computing technologies, including deep learning and data fusion, to advance beyond static environmental setpoints. In anticipation of testing, it shows promise in revolutionizing occupant-centric comfort, fostering the creation of more adaptive and resilient indoor spaces.

In this paper, a system concept for embedded real-time data acquisition and condition monitoring of a safety-critical sensor module is presented. Based on the expected main life-cycle loads, suitable sensors have been selected for in-situ monitoring of possible failure precursors. Derived from previous considerations, the implementation of special monitoring subsystems for thermo-mechanical stress and signal quality is described. Eventually, a concept for real-time data acquisition is presented, which also lays the foundation for the collection of a training dataset for data-driven condition monitoring approaches of the investigated sensor module. A high priority has been set to a reusable design so that system concept, hardware and firmware can be used for training data acquisition as well as for validation of the final, data-driven condition monitoring algorithms.
