Home Energy Management System (HEMS) at smart homes focuses on smart management and switching among different sources of energy supply and generations. Wireless sensor Networks (WSNs) are employed in HEMS to sense, process, and communicate the different electrical parameters, such as electrical voltage, current, and frequency. the sources of electrical energy considered in this paper are the utility smart grid and the local power generator. In this paper, Hybrid Power systems Selection (HPSS) is developed to ubiquitously distribute the demands of the electrical power between the utility smart grid and the local generator using WSNs, so that the energy cost and pollutant emission are reduced. therefore, the main goal of HPSS is to get the optimal percentage of electrical power drifted from the smart grid utility, compared with the electrical power drifted from the local generator (UGR). At each time step, HPSS firstly measures the electrical parameters, such as the load power, and the grid frequency. After that, the cost function that combines the energy cost and emission pollution is solved to get the optimal solution. Simulated annealing optimization method is used to get the optimal/near-optimal solution of power distribution. Simulation results show that the proposed HPSS can optimally distribute the load power between the local generator and the utility smart grid with minimum energy cost and pollutant emission. In addition, the energy cost and emission pollution are controlled according to tuning of predefined weighting parameter. © 2023 ieee.

Innovative methods are required to remove energy inefficiency that reduces the network lifetime because battery power is limited on the sensor nodes used in WSN applications. Because the path is not established at that time, there is a difficulty with dead node identification during data transfer. Another issue is the redundancy-related network lifetime concern. Energy is lost during transmission, which causes an issue with energy usage. We have encountered an NP-hard scheduling problem in our review of the literature. It's also a problem that, as bandwidth increases, the lifespan of the network itself decreases. A hybrid routing approach for WSNs based on the combination of DEEC and CH-Leach In clustering-based wireless sensor networks, protocols like ACO and LEACH are used. the CH-Leach Protocol is proposed as an algorithm. In this research, each CH communicates with the BS via the total number of CH connections. the amount of clusters on the network gird region, however, determines which cluster head is chosen. this technique enables the network to adopt the ideal condition to increase network longevity. Numerous studies on diverse situations were conducted and tested. By using the ZECR, which reduces the amount of energy used, wireless sensor networks can work better. the performance in this painting is higher than in the current painting since the current painting primarily depends on physical appearance, whereas our painting is completed using logical painting, and the overall output is 70%.. © 2023 ieee.

More recently, it has become possible to run deep learning algorithms on edge devices such as microcontrollers due to continuous improvements in neural network optimization algorithms such as quantization and neural architecture search. Nonetheless, most of the embedded hardware available today still falls short of the requirements of running deep neural networks. As a result, specialized processors have emerged to improve the inference efficiency of deep learning algorithms. However, most are not for edge applications that require efficient and low-cost hardware. therefore, we design and prototype a low-cost configurable sparse Neural Processing Unit (NPU). the NPU has a built-in buffer and a reshapable mixed-precision multiply-accumulator (MAC) array. the computing and memory resources of the NPU are parameterized, and different NPUs can be derived. Besides, users can also configure the NPU at runtime to fully utilize the resources. In our experiments, the 200MHz NPU with only 32 MACs is more than 32 times faster than the 400MHz STM32H7 when inferring MobileNet-V1. Besides, the yielded NPUs can achieve roofline or even beyond roofline performance. the buffer and reshapeable MAC array push the NPU's attainable performance to the roofline, while the feature of supporting sparsity allows the NPU to obtain performance beyond the roofline.

Wireless sensor Network (WSN) is the most potential sector, and it is extensively applied in defense, medical, flood mitigation, and meteorology. Each component in a WSN is linked to the next component and shares data with it. Information protection is critical while transmitting data over a network. In the field of networks, privacy is critical. Premised on an assessment of current WSNs protection vulnerabilities, a blended cryptographic technique relied on WSNs is postulated, incorporating the features of symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic schemes. A hybrid cryptographic approach was proposed which was implemented by employing REA (Rijndael Encryption Approach) in the first stage, HFEA (Horst Feistel's Encryption Approach) in the second stage, and improved- Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (i-RSA) in the last stage. the findings demonstrate that the technique may lower encryption and decryption time while maintaining safety. the results obtained from the suggested ensemble cryptographic technique in WSN are good in terms of execution time, power usage, communication cost, and storage cost. © 2022 ieee.

As an important category of skyline queries, the skyline groups query has drawn growing interest from the academic communities. For taking the benefit of cost savings, data owners are motivated to outsource the data storage and query processing to the public cloud to offload the massive data management. However, direct outsourcing may raise severe privacy issues. In this paper, we define and study the secure skyline groups query problem, and propose the secure skyline groups query methods. To address this problem, we first propose the Basic Secure Skyline Groups Query (BSSGQ) method to find the skyline groups on encrypted data. In BSSGQ method, candidate groups and their aggregate tuples are generated under encryption. To calculate group dominance relations, we propose a secure group dominance protocol to facilitate the dominance computation between groups. With the dominance relations, the skyline groups w.r.t the query group can be obtained, and finally the query results of the skyline groups can be securely returned without being learnt by the cloud servers. To address the efficiency problem in BSSGQ method, we further propose a Dynamic-programming-based Secure Skyline Groups Query (DSSGQ) method to effectively avoid generating the candidate groups. In DSSGQ method, the encrypted data are equivalently mapped based on the query group as the preprocessing to achieve a dynamic skyline groups query. then, DSSGQ method dynamically constructs and calculates the skyline sub-groups in ciphertext, and the final skyline groups can be combined with the obtained skyline sub-groups. thorough analysis shows the security and complexity of the proposed methods, and extensive experimental results on real datasets and synthetic datasets illustrate the performance of our proposed methods. © 2021 ieee.

Web3.0 apps, with their emphasis on decentralization, real-time processing, and low latency, hold the key to MEC's bright future. this calls for an all-encompassing, future-oriented strategy in MEC architecture and design. the suggested technique is a multi-stage strategy for molding the future of MEC via cutting-edge architectures and designs for Web3.0 over 5G/6G networks. In the first stage, you'll examine the needs and goals of Web3.0 in detail. Real-time, lowlatency interactions are essential, as is familiarity with the dynamics of distributed apps and blockchain technology. In the second stage, we examine the current MEC setup, from edge server dispersion to data center density to network topology. the technique takes use of the low latency, high throughput, and huge device connection offered by 5G and impending 6G networks to guarantee preparedness for the future. the suggested technique is based on novel building layouts as its foundation. Latency, throughput, resource usage, scalability, and security compliance are only few of the metrics that may be evaluated to guarantee that the design is effective. the difficulties of actual deployment are also discussed;they include issues like where to put edge servers and how to scale resources according to demand. To ensure that the process remains in step with developing technologies and user preferences, it is recommended that improvements be made in a series of iterations. © 2024 ieee.

Floating offshore wind turbines are preferred for their adaptability to deepwater environments and high power generation efficiency. the control of floating offshore wind turbines presents significant challenges. the incidence of component failures is higher and the production of floating offshore wind turbines presents significant challenges. this study presents a model-free fault-tolerant adaptive control system for blade root moment sensors. We develop an individual pitch controller and fault repair system using model-free adaptive control, circumventing the need for mathematical modelling of floating offshore wind turbines. Fault-tolerant control addresses fault detection and isolation by turning dynamic fault compensation into a real-time control challenge for non-linear systems. Evaluate and replicate the suggested control method using fatigue code, aerodynamics, structures and turbulence. Equalise wheel bearing load, minimise floating platform movement and decrease bearing load in offshore wind turbines. the system demonstrates strong fault tolerance, particularly in scenarios where the blade root moment sensor suffers frequent failures, as its output power remains close to the rated power. © 2024 ieee.

In this paper, we introduce PIMAP, an IoT-based system for continuous, real-time patient monitoring that operates in a fully autonomous fashion, i.e. without the need for human intervention. To our knowledge, PIMAP is the first open system that integrates the basic patient monitoring workflow for continuous and autonomous operation and includes sensed data collection, storage, analysis, and real-time visualization. PIMAP's open design allows it to integrate a variety of sensors (custom and off-the-shelf), analytics, and visualization. Other novel features of PIMAP include its deployment flexibility, i.e., its ability to be deployed in different configurations depending on the specific application needs, setting, and resources, as well as PIMAP's self-profiling and self-tuning capabilities. While PIMAP can be applied to various patient monitoring applications and settings, in this paper we focus on the unsolved problem of preventing pressure injuries.

the recent pandemic events in thailand, Covid-19 in 2018, demonstrated the need for an event-based smart monitoring system. While a distributed multi-level architecture has emerged as an architecture of choice for a larger-scale smart event-based system that requires better latency, security, scalability, and reliability, a recently introduced data mesh paradigm can add a few additional benefits. the paradigm enables each district to become an event-based smart monitoring mesh and handle its analytics and monitoring workload. Districts can form a set of domains in a network of event-based smart community monitoring systems and provide data products for others during a crisis. this paper presents a distributed data mesh paradigm for an event-based smart monitoring product in a given community with predefined domains. the paper presents smart monitoring as a data product between domains. Key considerations for designing an event-based smart monitoring data product are given. the author introduces three possible domains necessary for creating a smart monitoring system in each community. Each domain creates a data product for a given domain and shares data between domains. Finally, a three-layer analytics architecture for a smart monitoring product in each domain and a use case is presented. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.

the integration of the Internet of things (IoT) with 6G networks promises a huge potential for improvised industrial communication. A large number of low-power communication technologies is expected to be part of 6 G in industrial IoT for data collection, forwarding, and actuation. Industrial IoT (IIOT) requires deterministic network services, which can meet the demand for real-time services. Edge-based solutions can help 6G networks meet the requirements of real-time services demanding lower latency. this work aims to address such real-time demands with efficient use of radio resources using 6TiSCH (IPv6 over Time Slotted Channel Hopping (TSCH) mode). In this paper, we propose an edge-based downlink scheduling scheme for the 6TiSCH-based IIoT network named EDSN. EDSN leverages a computation and communication model using edge computing and 6TiSCH scheduling to minimize the overall network latency for downlink data traffic. It schedules actuation (downlink) signals based on the criticality of the received sensor data and the location of the actuators. EDSN analyzes traffic at the edge nodes and allocates a suitable downlink schedule to meet the application requirements of the edge controller. the scheme offers a fair mechanism for provisioning timely schedules for low-priority packets and significantly reduces downlink action times compared to the state-of-the-art. Our experimental results demonstrate that EDSN can effectively reduce response times and improve packet delivery ratios for priority traffic, making it a promising solution for IIoT applications that require low response times and reliable packet delivery. © 2024 ieee.
