With the ITU's approval of the new draft proposal recommendations within the IMT Framework document for the period beyond 2030, research has recognized that 6G mobile technology incorporates numerous enhancements in usage scenarios and capabilities. this paper presents a short review of the progress of 6G technological advancement, including its use cases, key performance indicators, innovations in network support technology, and several potential spectrum options. the review is developed based on primary literature, including the relevant ITU document that encompasses IMT 2030 usage scenarios (as of June 2023). In this paper, we try to define progress in research for new services related to 6G use cases. A simulation is conducted to offer an overview of the theoretical 6G capacity. the simulation for theoretical 6G capacity is based on the bandwidth of spectrum candidates between 100 MHz and 1000 MHz. For network support, we identify some requirements to support 6G networks, such as integrated access and backbone, integrated space and terrestrial networks, free-space optical networks, distributed cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. Finally, the paper will also delve into discussing the implications and challenges expected during the 6G implementation phase, including the fulfillment of the key performance indicator objectives and the key value indicator, which is divided into two main components: the first is growth, and the second is sustainability and efficiency domains. © 2023 ieee.

the research on the landing point of range shells is a technical guarantee for combat-oriented and intelligent training. this paper proposes to estimate the direction of the burst point sound source based on multi-microphone array, using time delay estimation method, and the orientation error can be controlled within 1 % degree by simulation experiment. Six coordinate position estimates were obtained using a combination of two of the direction lines crossed to position, usually using a simple mean fusion of the six coordinate estimates. After performing simulations, the team found that the error on the diagonal was much higher than the other positions. After a lot of simulation attempts, after getting the six coordinate estimates, it is relatively better to use triple standard deviation to set the threshold for outliers. the final target position estimates were obtained by mean fusion after removing the outliers. Further, the team uses the least-squares-based method to solve the matrix of the four single-basis array directional line equations to obtain the ridge estimate of the target position from the system of four directional line overdetermined equations as a breakthrough point. In the simulation experiments, the least squares-based fusion algorithm is relatively better than the outlier-processed mean fusion and eliminates the situation that the error on the diagonal is significantly higher than that around it, and the overall error becomes elliptically distributed, which is related to the multi-microphone array parameters. © 2023 ieee.

A distributed adaptive data-driven predictive control method is proposed to comprehensively address the control issue of heterogeneous platoons under communication loss in this paper. In this algorithm, the introduction of Givens rotations makes it possible to achieve online parameter update without offline identification. the design of the adaptive criterion enables adaptive switching capability for multi-model systems. the Matlab/Carsim co-simulation under different scenarios verifies the robustness of our method and guarantees the string stability of the heterogeneous platoon. © 2022 ieee.

Internet of things has emerged as a key technological enabler for broader socio-technical and socio-economic paradigms, such as smart cities and Circular Economy. However, IoT systems are characterised by constraints and limitations which in order to be overcome they need to be deployed in conjunction and in synergy with other emerging ICT. distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) can help overcome challenges pertaining to data immutability, timeliness and security. However, the use of DLT does not satisfactorily mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities per se and currently cybersecurity aspects of IoT systems are addressed in a fragmented way. Furthermore, the conflict between the resource demanding Blockchains and the highly constrained nature of IoT devices hinders implementation efforts of corresponding systems. We consider networked systems that comprise both IoT and DLT technologies via the prism of Intelligent Transportation systems (ITS). We elicit a three-tier threat model identifying attack vectors at the Device, the Network and the DLT layers. the identified attacks are then ranked by using the DREAD ranking scheme. the use of the threat model is demonstrated on a novel proof-of-concept IoT networked system implemented using the IOTA Tangle distributed ledger, where it helps to critically appraise the design of the system against the most critical attacks. Furthermore, the developed system is among the first in the literature to demonstrate the synergy of IoT and DLT on actual constrained embedded devices. the performance evaluation provides insights showing that such systems can be efficient and suitable for real-life deployment.

As the current detection solutions of distributed denial of service attacks (DDoS) need additional infrastructures to handle high aggregate data rates, they are not suitable for sensor networks or the internet of things. Besides, the security architecture of software-defined sensor networks needs to pay attention to the vulnerabilities of both software-defined networks and sensor networks. In this paper, we propose a networka-ware automated machine learning (AutoML) framework, which detects DDoS attacks in software-defined sensor networks. Our framework selects an ideal machine learning algorithm to detect DDoS attacks in network-constrained environments, using the metrics such as variable traffic load, heterogeneous traffic rate, and detection time while preventing over-fitting. Our contributions are two-fold: (i) we first investigate the trade-off between the efficiency of ML algorithms and network/traffic state in the scope of DDoS detection. (ii) we design and implement a software architecture containing open-source network tools, with the deployment of multiple ML algorithms. Lastly, we show that under the denial of service attacks, our framework ensures the traffic packets are still delivered within the network with additional delays.

Recent advances in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technologies make their use as data collection sinks feasible for practical applications of Wireless sensor Networks (WSN). Using UAVs as mobile data collection agents can improve network performance by reducing the horizontal radio pollution in animal sanctuaries or conservations, for example. this may also positively improve energy consumption of both UAV and sensor nodes (SN) on the ground. Designing an efficient UAV trajectory which has the capability of data gathering from randomly distributed large number of SNs has been one of the challenges for the UAV-aided WSN data gathering solutions. this paper aims at conceptualizing a solution for UAV path planning in gathering data of distributed wireless sensors over a large space. Both efficient flight path and dynamic orchestration of sensor grouping are considered as two key factors for improving the flight performance in data collection. Herein, a classical Travel Salesman Problem (TSP) solution supported by the ground group offerings are used for manipulating a simplified centroid-based trajectory and turning it into a more relaxed fuzzy route. this in turn would offer a ground for smoother and more efficient flight paths. While preliminary modelling of the approach offers encouraging results, the demand for fluidity in dynamically re-orchestrating the ground sensor networks must be carefully considered. Successful implementation of this concept would support a wide range of applications such as the farming and conservation used cases.

In order to improve coverage rate of wireless sensor network (WSN), improved lion swarm optimization algorithm (LSOA) is proposed to optimize node coverage in WSN. Firstly, node coverage model of WSN is studied. Secondly, improved LSOA is proposed, basis theory of LSOA is analyzed, adaptive parameter improved Tent chaotic mapping is used to improve diversity of lion swarm, adaptive Tent chaotic searching strategy is used to improve optimization efficiency and precision of algorithm. Finally, node coverage optimization simulation of WSN is carried out, and results how that proposed improved LSOA can effectively improve node coverage rate, and improve lifetime of WSN.

In this present work, an innovative framework has been proposed to localize single and multiple partial discharge (PD) events using acoustic sensor. For this purpose, an experimental setup has been configured in laboratory where 47 single and multi-location PD events have been simulated within an oil-filled emulated cubical tank (resembling a HV equipment). For each PD event, PD signature has been recorded through 5 acoustic sensors. thereafter, recorded PD signals are subjected to smoothed pseudo-Wigner Ville distribution in order to obtain time-frequency representation. thereafter, image plot of time-frequency representation correspond to each sensor has been separately fed to pre-trained deep architecture for automated feature extraction. the extracted features are then subsequently fed to a bi-LSTM classifier for PD event classification, which returned high recognition accuracies in classifying different single and multi-location PD event. the proposed framework is also effective under strong noisy environment, which signifies its worthiness for real life PD localization within a HV equipment.

Despite the growing interest in cross-technology communication, its application to real-world systems is still limited, as existing schemes are mostly unidirectional and technology-specific. the lack of generic solutions as well as the complexity of their integration reduces the applicability in a broader scope. In this paper, we propose a solution to augment Wi-Fi, BLE, and ZigBee devices with the ability to transmit and receive cross-technology broadcast frames alongside their existing functionality. After experimentally evaluating the performance of our solution on a variety of hardware platforms, we leverage it to build a gateway-free smart home, where a smartphone can simultaneously control heterogeneous smart objects. the smart objects, which include an off-the-shelf ZigBee light bulb and a BLE-enabled door lock from different vendors, perform cross-technology communication while retaining their original functionality and can maintain duty-cycled operations.
