In this paper, a novel technique based on nonzero-offset coupling for sensitivity enhancement of a complementary split-ring resonator as a dielectric sensor is proposed. Changing the offset between the central island of CSRR and the microstrip line makes the overall system sensitive to changes near the sensor, which adds a new degree of freedom for sensitivity enhancement since the sensitivity of such a system is related to the coupling capacitance and inductance. the resonator is designed by etching out a ring with a split in the ground plane and then inductively excited by connecting the resonator's island to TL using a plated via. As a dielectric sensor, the sensing mechanism is based on measuring the relative changes in the resonance frequency in respect of a reference case. the sensor is used to detect a dielectric slab with a thickness of 3 mm and width and length of 22.5 mm, where the relative permittivity of the slab is varied from 1 to 11 with a variation of 0.5. the proposed sensor is evaluated using a numerical simulation (HFSS). Based on the numerical results, the enhanced sensitivity is 44.38%, 15.45%, and 6.54 % when detecting the slab with the dielectric constant of 1.5, 2, and 10, respectively. Since the sensor has many features such as high sensitivity, simplicity in the sensing mechanism, and low-cost fabrication using printed circuit board technology, the sensor can be attractive for sensing-system designers, making it an ideal candidate for biomedical and industrial applications. © 2022 ieee.

Knowledge Tracing (KT), the most basic task for Intelligent Tutoring systems, models individual students' knowledge state over time based on their past interactions. In large-scale KT datasets, we observe the length of student interaction records satisfy a long-Tail distribution, and propose an efficient self-Attentive architecture, EAKT, optimized for this situation to accelerate training. By combining linear self-Attention with adaptive window size, EAKT enables the long-range modeling capability for long records and high window utilization for short records. through experiments on two large-scale KT datasets, we demonstrate that EAKT achieves about 4 times faster with one-third memory cost than the best existing model, while still maintains competitive accuracies. © 2021 ieee.

Industrial cyber-physical systems (ICPS) refer to an emerging generation of intelligent systems, where distributed data acquisition is of great importance and is influenced by data transmission. In the improvement of the overall performance of sensing accuracy and energy efficiency, sensing and transmission are tightly coupled. Due to the unknown transmission channel states in the harsh industrial field environment, intelligently performing sensor scheduling for distributed sensing is challenging. In this paper, edge computing technology is utilized to enhance the level of intelligence at the edge side and deploy advanced scheduling algorithms. We propose a learning-based distributed edge sensing-transmission co-design (LEST) algorithm under the coordination of the sensors and the edge computing unit (ECU). Deep reinforcement learning is applied to perform real-time sensor scheduling under unknown channel states. the conditions for the existence of feasible scheduling policies are analyzed. the proposed algorithm is applied to estimate the slab temperature in the hot rolling process, which is a typical ICPS. the simulation results demonstrate that the overall performance of LEST is better than other suboptimal algorithms.

Monitoring system will collect massive data and store them in many distributed data centers. the traditional distributed deep learning needs to centralize data to the Parameter Server before training, then shuffle the data, and finally divide the data to each computing node uniformly. When training a neural network model with the data from monitoring system, it will result in huge communication overhead. We propose the Grouped-Based-on-Local-Data Synchronous Parallel (GSP) distributed deep learning. the use of local data can greatly reduce the amount of communication. At the same time, it can also bring another advantage, the similarity between the data centers can be calculated based on the background of monitor lens and the annotation of the data, then group computing nodes according to the similarity of the data centers they belong to and set up the grouped synchronous communication mechanism based on the Parameter Server architecture. the result of experiment shows that the iteration time of training by GSP is greatly reduced and the test precision is consistent.

Edge computing has become a very popular service that enables mobile devices to run complex tasks with the help of network-based computing resources. However, edge clouds are often resource-constrained, which makes resource allocation a challenging issue. We focus on a distributed resource allocation method in which servers operate independently and do not communicate with each other, but interact with clients (tasks) to make allocation decisions. this provides robustness and does not require service providers to share information about their configurations or workloads. We propose a two-round bidding approach of assigning tasks to edge cloud servers, while taking into account various processing requirements and server constraints. We consider cases in which all jobs have equal utility, cases where jobs have different utilities but users do not disclose these utilities to servers, and cases where users disclose the utility of their jobs to servers. We evaluate the performance using extensive realistic simulations. Results show that our approach is very close to an optimal assignment, with discrepancy not exceeding 5%.

Blockchain is a developing mathematical science that enables continuous economic transactions with distributed untrusted bodies without the need for brokers, as banks do. this article examines the impact of blockchain electronics on the farming and supply chain, presents existing continuous projects and pushes, and evaluates general relationships, difficulties, and possibilities, with a pessimistic outlook on the future of these endeavors. Our judgments display that blockchain is a promising technology but many obstructions and challenges still exist that hinder allurement to more expansive recognition with labours and systems. these challenges include mechanical facets, instruction, policies, and supervisory foundations. therefore, there is a need for a trustworthy system that guarantees traceability, trust, and confidentiality in the Agri-Food supply chain. the proposed system has a blockchain at the core of every activity, which finally transfers information to the Interplanetary File Storage System (IPFS). the depository structure proceeds a mess of the dossier, which is stocked on blockchain and guarantees an adept, secure, and trustworthy solution. Furthermore, simulations and judgments of smart contracts, in addition to the protection and vulnerability studies, are still bestowed in this piece of work. © 2022 ieee.

When large-scale photovoltaic power generation is put into use, it is necessary to consider how to keep photovoltaic panels as high as possible. However, the efficiency of photovoltaic panels is not static, its efficiency by light, temperature, shadow, dirt and other factors. It is therefore necessary to design a photovoltaic power generation maintenance system that continuously monitors the power generation environment, provides early warning of potential power generation inefficiencies, and automatically intervenes to maximize power generation efficiency. the maintenance system consists of hardware and software components, hardware connected to sensors and cleaning facilities, access to daily data. the software transmits the collected data to an intelligent algorithm that analyzes it to determine whether today's cleaning needs have not been captured. the experimental data verify the validity of the learning model.

In the Internet of things (IoT), a lot of data is sent to the cloud to represent what happens to the device. To transmit a lot of data, it takes a lot of energy to do that activity. therefore that, we need a method to save energy, namely by using query optimization. this method is a process to analyze a query to determine what resources are required by the query and to identify if the use of these resources can be optimized by reducing the amount of data without significantly changing the output. In this paper, the authors propose a query optimization by using the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method for save energy on the device. First, the temperature sensors collect data from a room. then the data collected from the temperature sensor is used to generate a matrix for PCA. After the data is made into a matrix, a covariance matrix is decomposed to obtain the eigenvalues and eigenvectors. After getting the eigenvalues and eigenvectors, a new variable is determined, namely the Principal Component (PC) value to determine how many data will be reduced. the experimental results show that the NMSE value is not too large despite having 3 dimensionality reduced. therefore, it is expected for PCA to be used for query optimization effectively. © 2022 ieee.

In the absence of GPS signals, Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) technology enables unmanned systems to accomplish map construction and autonomous navigation in unknown environments. At present, there are mainly methods for SLAM based on sensors such as lidar, camera, ultrasonic, Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and odometer for location environment. However, there are certain limitations in using a single sensor for SLAM in unknown environment. In order to solve the above problems, this paper summarizes the key problems faced by mainstream SLAM at present, and proposes a SLAM method based on multi-sensor fusion, which can make full use of the advantages of various sensors from the hardware structure and make up for the shortcomings of using a single sensor. Finally, the proposed method was verified on the platform of 'JAC Electric Vehicle', and the experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively avoid the influence caused by signal weakening, improve the positioning accuracy, and the system has stronger robustness and better tracking performance. © 2021 ieee.

the emerging applications in wireless sensor-based smart grid networks has provided higher demands on latency, and such latency-sensitive applications also require dense computations, especially in dense wireless sensor networks. To further satisfy the huge demands on communication and computation resources, mobile edge computing (MEC) has been proposed to offload computation tasks from terminals to nearby MEC servers that are deployed on wireless sensors. However, in the practical scenario, due to the expensive cost of deploying MEC servers, the amount of the deployed MEC servers is always limited, i.e., it may be much lower than that of sensors or terminals. As a result, the computation offloading in MEC-assisted dense wireless sensor network still faces open challenges. To address the above issue, we propose a joint MEC and device-to-device(D2D)-based computation offloading scheme. Specifically, we formulate the computation offloading problem as a joint access selection and resource allocation optimization, which minimizes the energy consumption while requested bandwidths and delay are satisfied. then, we solve the formulated problem by designing a quantum behaved particle swarm optimization (QPSO) algorithm. the simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can improve the efficiency of computation offloading and decrease the energy consumption in the MEC-assisted dense wireless sensor-based smart grid networks. © 2021 ieee.
