the Internet of things (IoT) devices generate a large amount of data that get processed in the cloud. Typically, different IoT devices will be allocated to the same Fifth Generation (5G) mobile network slice, on which the IoT services will be using different containers. While cloud containers can offer many benefits, they also introduce new security risks from co-resident containers that can be particularly problematic for IoT devices. the need for long-lasting batteries is essential for the success of wireless-connected IoT devices, particularly in applications where regular battery replacement is impractical or impossible. Energy Depletion Attacks (EDA) can drastically reduce the lifespan of IoT sensor device batteries, whereas Synergistic Power Attacks (SPA) can cause power outages in data centers and disrupt critical services. Although EDA and SPA have been studied in the literature, the IoT cloud information leakages with the advent of network slicing concepts in 5G and 6G leading to these attacks have not been addressed yet. this paper presents comprehensive studies of 5G-Advanced IoT cloud framework and related attacks. It reveals novel systematic methods through which powerful stealth Cloud Container-Based EDA (CC-EDA) and Cloud Container-Based SPA (CC-SPA) can be launched. these attacks are difficult to detect as the attacker impersonates a valid IoT management system and manipulates the system's behavior. With a quantitative assessment of the performance of a battery under attack, this paper additionally shows that an aggressive CC-EDA will be deeply damaging and can bring down the entire IoT network within a day. Possible mitigation strategies to address the security concerns associated with IoT cloud-based attacks are proposed. © 2023 ieee.

CMOS Image sensors produce data used in several machine learning models. Typically, their layout is limited to rectangular grid of uniform pixels. However, their shape and size can provide another optimisation parameter in end-to-end training in specific machine learning tasks. Variable layout pixels are observed as one potential approach. An image sensor with such variable and learned layout is presented. A technique for automatic generation of such layouts is also described, along with data from a typical implementation of such pixels.

As the concept and practical application of smart cities become more and more popular, the technology becomes more and more advanced, and the complex network structure and the large amount of data lead to some security-related problems. therefore, this study aims to propose an integrated security framework based on artificial intelligence and distributed systems to address the challenges of smart city security. this research focuses on how is AI combined with the current security framework to improve the security of smart city, especially smart transportation. the framework will merge the analytical capabilities of AI for data encryption and decryption, identity authorization and access control, as well as data masking and desensitization, with the characteristics of distributed systems to protect the security of smart transportation. through the review of previous journals, it can be concluded that the improved accuracy and efficiency brought by AI and distributed systems, as well as the application of the framework in five aspects of identity, protection, detection, response. and recovery. the innovation and practicality of the framework can promote further development and research in the field of smart transportation in smart city security, and promote the development of smart cities in a safer and smarter direction.

In recent years, with the progress of distributed photovoltaic technology and the reduction of costs, the installed scale of distributed photovoltaic has grown rapidly. Due to the high average photovoltaic permeability, there is active power backfeed phenomenon in the distribution network at the peak of photovoltaic power generation, resulting in high voltage and distribution overload problems in the station area, especially the serious overvoltage of photovoltaic access points, which has seriously affected the reliable operation of the distribution network and the safe consumption of electricity by users. At present, there is little attention to the regulation of distributed PV access point overvoltage at home and abroad, and the related work has just started, and the relevant achievements are also few, so it is urgent to carry out the relevant research on the autonomous control strategy for the safe operation of distributed power station area. this paper proposes an autonomous control strategy for safe operation of distributed power stations. Firstly, the hardware architecture of “distribution automation master station-intelligent fusion terminal-intelligent grid-connected switch/plug and play communication unit-photovoltaic inverter” is constructed. then, based on the above hardware architecture, a refined control strategy is proposed. Finally, based on RTDS, a semi-physical simulation platform of intelligent fusion terminal is built, and the effectiveness and practicability of the method described in this paper are verified by a practical example.

Light pollution, caused by indiscriminate use of artificial lighting at night, is a growing threat to astronomy, the environment, and other fields. Monitoring light pollution can help inform local communities on its impact on their environment, especially nocturnal plants and animals, such as sea turtles. However, existing systems for light pollution monitoring are expensive, non-scalable, and uni-directional, while others are inaccurate and cannot be deployed at a large scale. In this paper, we propose a modular IoT sensor platform called Pasteables with reconfigurable and easily replaceable components. We tailor this sensor platform to use many of the sensors related to monitoring light pollution. It builds upon our previous work that shares the idea of a generic modular sensing platform [1]. Unlike the previous work, we created new designs for the Components for Uniform Interface (CUI) with sensors, including light sensor, temperature/pressure sensor, and GPS. We fabricated PCB proto-types of this Pasteables platform using FR-4 material and surface mount components. Each CUI connects to the base pad using edge connectors to make the CUIs reconfigurable during installation. With these prototypes, we evaluated its responsiveness and sensitivity at two different locations of varying heights for the light source against the least expensive existing solution. © 2022 ieee.

Feature extraction is an initial and essential part for the development of accurate predictive machine learning classifiers. In the research field of drug discovery and development, the usage of molecular descriptors, which can be defined as mathematical representations of molecules' chemical properties, is a challenging task not only for machine learning studies but even for "classical wet lab"approaches. However, a high diversity of these descriptors is required in order to exploit all the available knowledge and, consequently, to maximize the potentially predictive power of approaches that could be applied for the discovery of new bioactive compounds against one or more molecular targets. Furthermore, the representation and normalization of these information is considered a rather time-consuming process. Herein, we present an approach that employs the power of cloud and distributing computing for the extraction, processing and representation of big datasets, leading to the generation of molecular descriptors in a reasonable time frame. © 2022 ACM.

this paper presents a distributed structured controller design method in the case of finite number of subsystems with sensor failures. the constraint on the number of sensor failures is represented by a cardinality constraint on the controller gain matrix. A mixed integer programming method is employed to deal with this type of column cardinality constraint. By using the Lyapunov functional method, we present a sufficient condition that guarantees the H∞ asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system. And a column sparse controller design method is presented in the form of linear matrix inequalities. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the developed approach. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

the techniques for identifying the position of any sensor node by means of co-ordinates is known as localization technique. Requirements of estimation of location come up from the importance of the sensor data and the events associated with the location. Here, the proposed research work has used range based method for location identification by using received signal strength indicator. Furthermore, the idea of weighted centroid methods are utilized for localization and simple propagation model based computational techniques to improve the accuracy. the two phase location identifying method is implemented and tested using Cooja simulator. the proposed model has obtained a satisfactory result up to 99 percent for location calculation. © 2021 ieee.

this paper proposes an optimization model that integrates Hadoop, Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN), and Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) to enhance GNN performance in large-scale networks. Hadoop is utilized for distributed storage and processing of large graph datasets, dividing them into subgraphs across multiple computing nodes. the MapReduce framework accelerates the training and inference of GCN through parallel computing. GCN is employed to extract node features by performing convolution on the graph's adjacency matrix. ACO is then applied for global hyperparameter tuning and network structure optimization. By exploring the parameter space, ACO identifies the optimal configuration for GCN. this model leverages Hadoop's distributed computing power, GCN's effective feature extraction, and ACO's optimization capabilities. Experimental results demonstrate improved efficiency and performance on large-scale network datasets compared to traditional methods.
