In recent years, many educational institutions have adopted information systems such as e-Learning platforms and groupware. However, these existing information systems often have significant installation, operation, and maintenance costs. Moreover, on-premise systems require expensive servers and cloud computing systems can accumulate high maintenance expenses. To address this issue, we have proposed that utilizes idle resources (idle computers) in an organization's information system. One of the characteristics of idle computers is that communication lines can be connected or disconnected at arbitrary times according to the operations of the original users. In general, the distributed system uses an idle computer as an unstable resource. However, our proposed system requires tolerating them as normal behaviors, and it requires a test environment for this problem. In this paper, we propose a load-testing environment to use idle computers having unstable behaviors in a distributed system. We also implemented and applied the proposed environment to a distributed e-Learning system. the result shows efficiency in showing behavior of unstable behaviors of idle computers to developers. © 2023 ieee.

Blockchain structure, initially designed to support Bitcoin, has been widely heralded as a transformative force capable of revolutionizing various industries through its promises of decentralization, security, and transparency. However, a closer examination reveals several misconceptions and fallacies1 regarding its capabilities and applications. this paper scrutinizes the prevalent myths associated with blockchain structure, particularly focusing on its assumed benefits. Additionally, it addresses the overstated claims of blockchain’s immutability and security. through critical analysis, this study aims to demystify blockchain structure and provide a balanced perspective on its practical implications and limitations. © 2024 ieee.

As deep learning grows rapidly, model training heavily relies on parallel methods and there exist numerous cluster configurations. However, current preferences for parallel training focus on data centers, overlooking the financial constraints faced by most researchers. To attain the best performance within the cost limitation, we introduce a throughput-cost metric to accurately characterize clusters' cost-effectiveness. Based on this metric, we design a cost-effective cluster featuring the 3090 with NVLink. the experiment results demonstrate that our cluster achieves remarkable cost-effectiveness in various distributed model training schemes. © 2023 ieee.

this research study applies a Decision Tree Classifier to detect anomalies in IoT networks using the NSL-KDD collection of data, which is a used widely as a benchmark for intruder identification. Following categorical feature preprocessing with label encoding, a class-weight-adjusted Decision Tree was applied to handle class imbalance. the model achieved 92% accuracy and an F1 score of 0.89, showing very strong performance in distinguishing between normal and anomalous network behaviours. the results were further validated using performance indicators such as the ROC curve, classification matrix, and F1-score. this approach has great promise for real-time anomaly detection in IoT systems, enhancing network security with high accuracy and reliable threat identification. the novelty is in the integration of feature selection and hyperparameter optimization to improve the performance of the decision tree model, addressing the challenges of high-dimensional data and dynamic network conditions that have not been explored much in the existing literature. © 2025 ieee.

Container technology has become a very popular choice for easing and managing the deployment of cloud applications and services. Container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes can automate to a large extent the deployment, scaling, and operations for containers across clusters of nodes, reducing human errors and saving cost and time. Designed with "traditional" cloud environments in mind (i.e., large datacenters with close-by machines connected by high-speed networks), systems like Kubernetes present some limitations in geo-distributed environments where computational workloads are moved to the edges of the network, close to where data is being generated/consumed. In geo-distributed environments, moving around containers, either to follow moving data sources/sinks or due to unpredictable changes in the network substrate, is a rather common operation. We present MyceDrive, a stateful resource migration solution natively integrated with the Kubernetes orchestrator. We show that geo-distributed Kubernetes pod migration is feasible while remaining fully transparent to the migrated application as well as its clients, while reducing downtimes up to 7x compared to state-of-the-art solutions.

this project plans to develop a distributed fiber optic vibration sensor and digital twin technology based on the external rupture detection technology of optical cable. In this method, a high voltage pulse is applied to the cable to cause partial discharge in the defective part of the cable and then generate the vibration signal of the cable. In this way, the real-time monitoring and early warning of external fracture damage in the common trench structure can be realized. the distributed fiber optic vibration sensor is used to detect the current along the cable direction to locate the damaged location. the proposed method is used to detect the fault condition on the line. the test proves that the device can monitor the fault situation of multiple optical cable lines in real time, and determine the fault point. © 2023 ieee.

this paper considers the problem of distributed Nash equilibrium (NE) seeking for second-order multi-agent systems under intermittent denial of service (DoS) attacks. Based on the local state information of neighboring agents and the gradient play, a Nash equilibrium seeking algorithm is designed for second-order multi-agent systems (MAS). It is proved that the distributed NE seeking of switching topologies under intermittent communication constraints can be realized when the average dwell time of the topology satisfies a certain switching condition. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by simulation example. © 2024 ieee.

there are various characteristics before the operation or failure of substation equipment with defects, and its monitoring system is a small current monitoring system mainly composed of portable detection equipment for inspection and independent online monitoring devices. However, recent experience in operation and maintenance has shown that live detection cannot timely detect abnormal states of substation main equipment, and online monitoring methods are still independent and cannot form a monitoring network system. In response to the above issues, this article proposes a multi bandwidth array sensing parameter design and layout optimization technology for substation main equipment. By extracting the current state variables of each device node through widely distributed broadband current sensors, a sensor based on electric flow is formed. Based on the typical two-thirds wiring method, a sensor array layout method and a model array are provided. For the array system with large sensor nodes, an RFEO with multi- objective constraints is proposed based on system decomposition;the improved algorithm based on iterative LMI obtains the optimal H ∞ performance metric, improves the observer estimation performance, and further reduces the conservatism of the system. © 2024 ieee.

In recent years, the penetration of distributed photovoltaic (PV) systems in distribution networks has increased. the temporal and spatial mismatch between PV output and load often causes voltage overruns, impacting the safe and stable operation of the network. this paper proposes a two-stage distributed control strategy for photovoltaic inverters and energy storage, based on a fast finite-time consistency algorithm. First, the principle of voltage overruns in distributed PV low-voltage networks is analyzed. the reactive power utilization of the PV inverter and changes in the storage charge state are selected as consistency variables. the coordinated control of the PV inverter's reactive power and the storage system's active power is then achieved using the fast finite-time consistency algorithm. Finally, a 14-node low-voltage distribution network with a distributed PV storage system is used for validation. the results demonstrate that the proposed strategy overcomes the limitations of single-link control, effectively mitigates voltage overruns, and reduces voltage control costs. © 2024 ieee.

this paper proposes a visualization function for developers in volunteer computing. In recent years, information systems such as e-Learning systems and groupware have been introduced in companies and educational institutions to promote DX, but the introduction and operation of these systems incur a large cost burden. therefore, we are developing a distributed information system that can be introduced and operated at low cost by utilizing surplus computers (idle computers) in an organization. Idle computers are unstable depending on the operations of their original users and have different performances. In order to use idle computers efficiently, it is necessary to improve the performance of the system and modify it to add new functions, taking into account the differences in behavior and performance of each machine. In this paper, visualization for developers to easily check the behavior and performance of a computer in an idle state is developed, and its usefulness is evaluated through experiments using a real system. © 2023 ieee.
