Eta pairing on a supersingular elliptic curve over the binary field used to offer 128-bit security, and has been studied extensively for efficient implementations. In this paper, we report our GPU-based implementations of this algorithm on an NVIDIA Tesla C2050 platform. We propose efficient parallel implementation strategies for multiplication, square, square root and inverse in the underlying field. Our implementations achieve the best performance when López-Dahab multiplication with four-bit precomputations is used in conjunction with one-level Karatsuba multiplication. We have been able to compute up to 566 eta pairings per second. To the best of our knowledge, ours is the fastest GPU-based implementation of eta pairing. It is about twice as fast as the only reported GPU implementation, and about five times as fast as the fastest reported single-core SIMD implementation. We estimate that the NVIDIA GTX 480 platform is capable of producing the fastest known software implementation of eta pairing. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

this paper aims to discuss the implementation of phoneme based Manipuri Keyword Spotting System (MKWSS). Manipuri is a scheduled indian language of Tibeto-Burman origin. Around 5 hours of read speech are collected from 4 male and 6 female speakers for development of database of MKWSS. the symbols of International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA)(revised in 2005) are used during the transcription of the data. A five state left to right Hidden Markov Model (HMM) with 32 mixture continuous density diagonal covariance Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) per state is used to build a model for each phonetic unit. We have used HMM tool kit (HTK), version 3.4 for modeling the system. the system can recognize 29 phonemes and a non-speech event (silence) and will detect the present keywords formed by these phonemes. Continuous Speech data have been collected from 5 males and 8 females for analysing the performance of the system. the performance of the system depends on the ability of detection of the keywords. An overall performance of 65.24% is obtained from the phoneme based MKWSS.

Research on digital image processing technology, which began in 1960s, stepped into an active research stage in late 1970s and early 1980s. It was firstly used in industrial and biomedical fields. Although it put into use in agricultural research very late, it has a broad prospect. In order to realize navel orange grading, this paper used Visual C # .NET program to develop navel orange shape and diameter rapid grading based on machine vision image feature. Southern Jiangxi navel orange was used as the research object. the color and shape feature of the navel orange was extracted. the image data was processed through Sobel Operator algorithm and standard median filter. Results show that the digital image processing technology based on C # program is feasible for shape grading of navel orange. It also provides a new method for navel orange grading detection. © 2013 IFIP International Federation for Information processing.

A mathematical model that expresses the relationship between Near-infrared light intensity and automatic threshold for automatic kiwifruit surface defect detection was established. By applying different levels of Near-infrared light intensity to machine vision system, 268 images were collected. then the images were processed with MATLAB using the method to detect kiwifruit defects based on Near-infrared light source .the obtained 268 sets of data on Automatic threshold T0 and Manual threshold T1were divided into 19 groups according to different aperture and light intensity. After processing data, a series of linear equations about the relationship between Near-infrared light intensity and Automatic threshold T0, with function fitting coefficient of R2 > 95% was obtained. Finally, relationship between T0 and T1 was analyzed according to the effectiveness of image processing results and constant P was introduced to revise Automatic threshold ***, a mathematical model needed to gain kiwifruit defects detection threshold, namely Model threshold T, was established. © 2013 IFIP International Federation for Information processing.

In this paper we present a method that uses a single camera as a passive sensor for location estimation. the implementation is focused on the image processing techniques and dissimilarity measurement. Experimental results have indicated that good state estimates could be obtained, considering very little use of visual information. Consequently, popular cameras can be perceived as a simple and interesting solution for visual odometry and present very promising possibility in autonomous navigation.

the Strabismus affects about 4% of the children population, causing amblyopia disease. However, this problem can be found by the Hirschberg test that is one of the exams used to detect this pathology. this work presents a methodology for automatic detection of strabismus in digital images through the Central corneal light reflex ratio (CCLRR) based on digital image processing. the proposed algorithm was organized into three stages: (1) skin detection was analyzed using the threshold of RGB color model (2) the locations of the eyes were detected using the morphological operation technique, position, threshold of gray level and shape. (3) the detection of the corneal light reflex were automatically detected by the grey levels in the range from histogram equation and locating of limbus. the methodology has produced results on the range 94.17% of accuracy, 97.23% of sensitivity and 73.08% of specificity.

Tactile graphics are images that use raised surface so that a visually impaired person can feel them. Tactile graphics are necessary to visually impaired students when they study mathematics and science. Since producing tactile graphics are not simple task, an intelligent computer-aided system for assisting the production of tactile graphics is needed. Mathematical graph recognition from printed materials plays an important role to develop such a system. So, this paper focuses on part of a method of mathematical graph recognition. A mathematical graph includes graph elements such as the rays representing the x-axis and the y-axis and the line segments or the curves representing functions or equations. Graph elements are often drawn so that they are overlapped each other. So, this paper discusses a method for extracting graph elements from an element which is drawn by overlapping more than one graph element. the effectiveness of our method is evaluated by a computer experiment.

We present an efficient GPU technique for rendering rich geometric detail (e.g., surface mesostructure) of complex surfaces. We use sphere-tracing aided by directional distance maps (DDMs) to quickly find ray-mesostructure intersection. High accuracy is achieved by analytically detecting such intersections, and space requirement is significantly reduced by distance map compression. Our technique can handle complex scenes containing both height-field and non height-field mesostructures in real time, with correct self-occlusion, self-shadow, interpenetrations and silhouettes. We demonstrate our algorithm on a variety of test scenarios and compare it with previous techniques. © 2012 ACM.

We propose an image search system for flowers on a mobile phone. Mobile phones have more limited resources than desktop computers in terms of CPU, RAM and data storage. the database that we created has 45 classes. We used 182 training images and 246 test images. We used an HSV histogram as a color feature. the accuracy rate using only color features was 44.86% with radius C=20. We use SURF as a shape feature. the accuracy rate using only shape-based feature was 47.31% with SURF vectors S=25. We combine both color and shape features to achieved accuracy 61.61%.

Nonlocal means (NLM) video denoising algorithm though provide very competitive results, suffer from high computational cost. We propose to reduce the computations through the concept of dimensionality reduction using principle component analysis (PCA). image neighbourhood representations are projected onto a lower dimensional subspace determined by PCA and weights are computed in this reduced subspace. Principle components are computed globally for an entire video shot having similar frames, which reduces computations drastically. We have used a technique of histogram difference to group the frames with similar visual content. We have achieved an improvement in accuracy in addition to reducing the computation. the proposed method is shown to outperform all other nonlocal means related video denoising methods. © 2012 ACM.
