A cache adapted to the LoongArch architecture is designed and implemented using the FPAG platform. A simple and performance balanced Cache module is designed and implemented. the design of the read and write data paths of the Cache module is given, and a state machine is designed and implemented for the logical control of the Cache module. the interaction interface between the Cache and the CPU is designed. the CPU pipeline adaptation method for Cache in hit and unhit cases is given. the processing flow of UnCache access is given. Cache-related instructions in the LoongArch instruction set are implemented. the test results show that the scheme meets the design requirements. Cache is simple and effective, and is suitable as a case study for initial understanding of Cache functionality and structure.

PageRank (PR) is the standard metric used by the Google search engine to compute the importance of a web page via modeling the entire web as a first order Markov chain. the challenge of computing PR efficiently and quickly has been already addressed by several works previously who have shown innovations in both algorithms and in the use of parallel computing. the standard method of computing PR is handled by modelling the web as a graph. the fast growing internet adds several new web pages everyday and hence more nodes (representing the web pages) and edges (the hyperlinks) are added to this graph in an incremental fashion. Computing PR on this evolving graph is now an emerging challenge since computations from scratch on the massive graph is time consuming and unscalable. In this work, we propose Hybrid Page Rank (HyPR), which computes PR on evolving graphs using collaborative executions on muti-core CPUs and massively parallel GPUs. We exploit data parallelism via efficiently partitioning the graph into different regions that are affected and unaffected by the new updates. the different partitions are then processed in an overlapped manner for PR updates. the novelty of our technique is in utilizing the hybrid platform to scale the solution to massive graphs. the technique also provides high performance through parallel processing of every batch of updates using a parallel algorithm. HyPR efficiently executes on a NVIDIA V100 GPU hosted on a 6th Gen Intel Xeon CPU and is able to update a graph with 640M edges with a single batch of 100,000 edges in 12 ms. HyPR outperforms other state of the art techniques for computing PR on evolving graphs [1] by 4.8x. Additionally HyPR provides 1.2x speedup over GPU only executions, and 95x speedup over CPU only parallel executions.

In the face of increasingly complex systems engineering R&D, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is gradually replacing Traditional Systems Engineering, producing a significant shift in modelling language, modelling thinking and modelling tools. And SysML, as a common modelling language for MBSE practitioners, has many irreplaceable advantages. Requirements diagrams are the primary medium of SysML for conveying traceability between requirements and from requirements to structure and behaviour in a system model. Today, how to automate the construction of SysML requirements models is a significant challenge. this paper proposes an automatic SysML model generation method based on Chinese free-text requirements using natural language processing. Firstly, perform word segmentation and POS Tagging on the requirement text to construct a domain lexicon, extract effective requirements by combining the domain lexicon and regular expressions, and then mark the effective requirements with semantic roles, and determine the requirements elements through established rules, which are ultimately converted into SysML requirements diagrams.

this paper reports on work currently under development jointly at the University of East Anglia, School of information systems and BT. the aim of the work is to design and develop advanced demonstrators which are capable of holding natural multi-modal discourse with a human interlocutor. In addition, these demonstrators will investigate such interactions within a computer generated immersive environment in which both the computer agents and human users have a virtual presence. the paper presents a design for a distributed architecture to achieve this goal and brief introductions to many of the system components.

NLPR has been with long efforts on Mandarin speech recognition. this paper reports our recent process in this field with several significant novel characteristies: 1) Very large speech databases are used to learn more robust acoustic model: 2) Acoustic model has evolved from non-tonal class-triphone to tonal class-triphone based on tone-embedded decision tree. namely unified tone & triphone modeling. the experimental results for large test databases show 1) hybrid databases are helpful for performance improvement;2) tone information is very useful and conld contribute 20% character error reduction for high quality "863" database: and 3) one-pass decoder is an more efficient framework than multi-pass decoder, especially when LM and AM are accurate.

this paper gives an overview over the progression and results of the VODIS (Voice-operated Driver information Systems) project, a EU-funded project with participation of many mdustrial and academic partners within Europe. It describes the architecture andfunctionalitv of a driver information prototype system that is able to counrol rele phone and audio devices, but also goes beyond these applications by enabling a potential user of the system to enter a destination within the nav:gation context by speech. the developed demonstrator alows the speaker-independent input of up to 70 predefined command words, phrases and even dynamically generated names (e.g. radio stations, phonebook entries) for hands- and eyes-free voice operation of the car-infotainment functions mentioned above. A prototype system has been realized in four European Ianguages: German, French, English and Italian. User ovaluations on driver level under realistic conditions have been conducted with this system and the results are presented in this paper.

this paper demonstrates the importance of fine fluctuations quantitatively by measuring the detection thresholds of fine fluctuations in singing-voice F0s, in which voice quality is particularly important. We analyzed the fine fluctuations left by subtracting the melody and vibrato components from estimated F0s, focuslng on the modulation frequency (MF) and modulation amplitude (MA). To test a hypothesis that the fine fluctuations in the F0 of singing voices affect the perception of quality, and that the magnitude of this effect depends on the MF and MA, we performed four psychoacoustic experiments using synthesized stimuli. the experimental results indicate that our hypothesis was correct, and suggest that, to produce high-quality synthesized speech, one should extract F0s containing fine fluctuations with an MF of over 7 Hz in the analysis and add not only melody and vibrato but also fine fluctuation components to the F0 contours in the synthesis.

the rapid growth of digital communications has led to an exponential increase in textual data, necessitating efficient methods for document segmentation. the readability can be improved by segmenting long documents into semantically coherent sections. Downstream Natural language processing (NLP) tasks, such as information retrieval and document summarization, can also be greatly assisted. However, previous studies have predominantly focused on sentence-level segmentation, which often failed to utilize the inherent paragraph structure of documents effectively. In this paper, a novel approach to document segmentation that leverages the characteristics of paragraphs is proposed. Pretrained language models (PLMs) are employed to identify and segment distinct topics within documents by analyzing the structure and semantic coherence between paragraphs. To improve the model performance, two new auxiliary tasks are integrated into the training process, providing additional signals that helps in better understanding context coherence and document structure. these auxiliary tasks are designed to align with the primary objective of segmentation while enhancing the model's capability to generalize across various types of documents. A novel dataset with approximately 10,000 documents focused on communications domain, characterized by detailed paragraph and topic structure, is crawled for training and evaluating. A diverse set of other domain specific documents were also evaluated with our model. It is demonstrated that the results of integrating auxiliary tasks and leveraging paragraph-level features significantly outperform baseline models.

Harmonic plus Noise Model (HNM) is the two-band speech model which assumes the speech signal to be composed of a harmonic part and a noise part. It is very important to determine the reasonable maximum voiced frequency which delimit harmonic and noise parts for high- quality synthetic speech. In this paper, a new analysis method for HNM, especially maximum voiced frequency, is proposed, whereby the time-domain periodicity score is calculated for each harmonic band and the band of maximum score is selected for maximum voiced frequency. Moreover recurrent equation of periodicity score is developed for fast implementation. this method has proven to be robust to the inaccuracy of pitch estimation and the frequency resolution problem in low-pitched speech.

Promotional Short Message Service (SMS) messages, which provide frequent updates about deals and discounts to consumers, are crucial in developing countries like Sri Lanka, as they help alleviate financial pressure during economic crises. However, poor practices by the brands, SMS technology limitations and human memory limitations challenge the ability of consumers to make effective use of this facility. As a solution, this project aimed to develop an Android application to organize and enhance the readability of promotional messages, while also providing mechanisms to prevent users from forgetting promotions. these objectives were achieved by creating a Kotlin app that displays promotional information in a date-sorted weekly dashboard, offers deal-expiration reminders, and optimizes message content for readability. the system utilizes a novel workflow/pipeline combining a Natural language processing (NLP) model with Named Entity Recognition (NER) capabilities, Regular Expressions and custom logic, to understand the context of and extract the crucial information from the promotional messages. User-acceptance testing carried out demonstrates positive results, reducing traditional access times to promotions of 8–10 seconds to approximately 2 seconds through this application. Additionally, user-testers reported multiple occurrences of the reminders feature ensuring that promotions weren't forgotten before use.
