A visualization pipeline is proposed in this paper to realize visual interaction of computable geometric models. It is an extension of the VTK pipeline, which processes mesh data in general. To achieve this, a new data structure is designed to encapsulate the computable geometric model and connect a pre-processing engine to parse the model in real time. And then, the VTK pipeline is adapted for the data structure at several aspects, including data filtering, data rendering, data picking and so on. Based on the data structure, effective algorithms for filtering and picking are also proposed so as to reduce runtime intermediate data as much as possible. As a result, the seamless docking of the pre-processing engine to the visual analysis engine is achieved. this work strongly supports the development of integrated application software of pre-processing, numerical simulation and post-processing visual analysis. © 2017.

In this paper, a Fault Tolerant Control (FTC) strategy for uncertain switched systems that can be used in the case of additive actuator faults is proposed. Sufficient conditions of building an observer are obtained by using multiple Lyapunov function. these conditions are worked out in a simple way, using cone complementarity technique, to obtain new LMIs with slack variables and multiple weighted residual matrices. the obtained results are applied on a numerical example showing fault detection, localization of fault and reconfiguration of the control to maintain asymptotic stability even in presence of a permanent actuator fault.

this paper presents the overview of machine learning techniques in classification of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases (CVD) using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) and Bayesian Networks (BNs). the comparative analysis was performed on selected papers that are published in the period from 2008 to 2017. the most commonly used type of ANN in selected papers is multilayer feedforward neural network with Levenberg-Marquardt learning algorithm. On the other hand, the most commonly used type of BN is Na'ive Bayesian network which shown the highest accuracy values for classification of diabetes and CVD, 99.51% and 97.92% retrospectively. Moreover, the calculation of mean accuracy of observed networks has shown better results using ANN, which indicates that higher possibility to obtain more accurate results in diabetes and/or CVD classification is when it is applied to ANN.

Many robots are composed of interchangeable modular components, each of which can be independently controlled, and collectively can be disassembled and reassembled into new configurations. When assembling these modules into an open kinematic chain, there are some discrete choices dictated by the module geometry;for example, the order in which the modules are placed, the axis of rotation of each module with respect to the previous module, and/or the overall shape of the assembled robot. Although it might be straightforward for a human user to provide this information, there is also a practical benefit in the robot autonomously identifying these unknown, discrete forward kinematics. To date, a variety of techniques have been proposed to identify unknown kinematics;however, these methods cannot be directly applied during situations where we seek to identify the correct model amid a discrete set of options. In this paper, we introduce a method specifically for finding discrete robot kinematics, which relies on collision detection, and is inspired by the biological concepts of body schema and evolutionary algorithms. Under the proposed method, the robot maintains a population of possible models, stochastically identifies a motion which best distinguishes those models, and then performs that motion while checking for a collision. Models which correctly predicted whether a collision would occur produce candidate models for the next iteration. Using this algorithm during simulations with a Baxter robot, we were able to correctly determine the order of the links in 84% of trials while exploring around 0.01% of all possible models, and we were able to correctly determine the axes of rotation in 94% of trials while exploring < 0.1% of all possible models.

In this paper a new algorithm for indoor localization, namely Fuzzy discrete Multilateration (FDM), is proposed. As the name suggests, it elaborates data from any number of transmitters (anchor nodes), and returns the estimated position of an unknown receiver. Furthermore, two cascade fuzzy inference systems are employed to evaluate the reliability of the data gathered from each beacon. the algorithm has been tested in different real world environments, where the anchor nodes are smart objects and the unknown node is any smart object held by the user to be localized. the performances of our algorithm has been compared with those of three well known localization algorithms (with a beacon density ranging from 0.03 to 0.1 beacon/m(2)) and results are shown.

In this paper a cordic based Application-Specific Instruction-set Processor(ASIP) for Two dimensional discrete Fourier Transform(DFT) and discrete Cosine Transform(DCT) is proposed. Today, DFT performs an important role in digital signal processing, and DCT algorithm is suitable for image compression applications. Using cordic method inside these two signal processing algorithms reduces the number of memory accesses. ASIP can act as an alternative to ASIC and GPP design if it does satisfy the critical points of power consumption, total delay, manufacturing cost and productivity of those designs. Furthermore, for satisfying these parameters, two stage of utilization is performed on the basic Mano model. As a mater of fact, temporary registers and data bus are improved, RAM and cache memory are added, and the number of Functional units is increased. As a result the number of gates in the control unit is decreased about 84% in the DFT and 86% in the DCT in comparison to the Mano design. Moreover, the DFT and the DCT instructions in this design consume 3.6% and 3.86% as the number of clocks as the Mano design does. Utilization in the proposed pipeline architecture is evaluated with Register Transfer Language (RTL) codes. © 2016 IEEE.

the MAXIMUM WEIGHT INDEPENDENT SET (MWIS) problem on graphs with vertex weights asks for a set of pairwise nonadjacent vertices of maximum total weight. the complexity of the MWIS problem for P-6-free graphs, and for S-1,S-2,S-2-free graphs are unknown. In this note, we give a proof for the solvability of the MWIS problem for (P-6, S-1,S-2,S-2, co-chair)-free graphs in polynomial time, by analyzing the structure and the MWIS problem in various subclasses of (P-6, S-1,S-2,S-2, co-chair)-free graphs. these results extend some known results in the literature. Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) is one of the most classically studied problems in computational mathematics. It is essentially focused on optimization. In this paper, a hybrid algorithm of combining Brain Storm Optimization (BSO) with discrete Particle Swarm Optimization (DPSO) is presented. the hybrid algorithm borrows exchange operator from DPSO and employs inversion idea from chromosome structure. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, it is applied to data sets from the TSPLIB standard database in comparison with the other algorithms. Experimental results show that the proposed hybrid algorithm can deal with the TSP problems well, and the developed mutation process and local search technique are effective.

this study attempted to investigate to find out whether there exists a relationship between the level of computer utilization of the student-respondents and their level of achievement in *** student – respondents were the 349 college students chosen using stratified random sampling using degree program pursued as the basis for the stratification from the SSU during the school year 2013 – *** study utilized a descriptive – correlational research design,used a constructed survey questionnaire as the principal data gathering *** instruments was the pre-validated 60 items mathematics achievement test taken from books which is used to measure the students achievement in logic,geometry,algorithm,mathematical analysis,probability and statistics,and discrete *** validation was conducted in order to determine whether the test items adapted from the books were suited to the level of the mathematical ability of the respondent to the students in EVSU Tacloban City and after the administration of the first and second administration of the questionnaire and the tests the correlation coefficient was computed and was posted at 0.886,which indicated that the test was both reliable and *** as well as inferential statistical tools were used to compute,analyse and interpret the data of the *** statistical tools used were frequency count,percentage,mean,range,weighted mean,Pearson Product moment Coefficient of Correlation( Pearson r) and Fisher's t – *** on the data analysis results revealed that 1) the respondents' possess characteristics,which are present in college students enrolled in degree programs in colleges in Samar State University(SSU) Catbalogan City,Samar in terms of age,sex,average family income,etc.2) the respondents are moderately knowledgeable as to basic computer concepts,moderately skilled in computer utilization,utilized computer on average of three times a week and used computers both for math
