this paper introduces an autostereoscopic viewing method that eliminates the need for specialized 3D glasses. the approach relies on vision-based motion parallax effects achieved by rendering a 3D scene on a 2D display according to the viewer's head position. Two systems were developed: one employing a single-camera setup, and the other utilizing a dual-camera configuration. By utilizing webcams integrated into a laptop, real-time analysis of the viewer's head position is performed. A combination of computer vision and range imaging techniques extracts the viewer's viewing position in the 3D space. this information is then used to manipulate the primary camera object within the Unity game engine, facilitating the rendering of an autostereoscopic view of a 3D scene. the Unity game engine adjusts the scene based on the viewer's perspective, creating an illusion of a 3D scene on a 2D display as the viewer's viewpoint changes. the accuracy, range, and output stability of the depth estimation techniques employed in both systems were assessed through systematic evaluation and an application usecase. the systematic evaluation revealed high levels of accuracy in estimating distances from the viewer to the laptop display for both systems, achieved within an effective viewing range of approximately 40 to 160 centimeters. A comprehensive discussion compares the capabilities and performance metrics of the two systems, while the application use-case discussion emphasizes their effectiveness in delivering optimal autostereoscopic viewing on a PC laptop screen. © 2023 IEEE.

parallel mechanisms with the capacity of large spatial localization are in important demand and difficult to design. In this paper, a 3-SPR parallel parameter is proposed to realize a large positioning workspace by using parasitic motion. In order to maximize the potential of the manipulator, optimum design is conducted. Firstly, kinematic analysis is carried out to investigate the characteristics of parasitic motion. then, the motion/force transmission and constraint performance of the manipulator are evaluated, where an approach for computing the transmission and constraint indices is presented. the design indices are constructed to evaluate the size of the positioning workspace in the xy plane and the average level of the motion/force transmission and constraint performance. Afterwards, the parameter design space is established by the parameter-finiteness normalization method. On these bases, the region satisfying the design requirement is derived by the performance chart-based design methodology. the proportional line method is presented to determine the optimum workspace along the Z-axis. Finally, a group of optimum parameters is obtained, and the large spatial localization capacity of the manipulator is achieved. this work lays the foundation for the development of the 3-SPR parallel manipulator, and the methods proposed in this paper can be further applied to the design of other parallel manipulators.

the growing demand for efficient energy storage solutions has sparked increased interest in precise battery voltage prediction. In this study the Long Short-Term Memory networks, are applied in the time series forecasting, to improve battery voltage prediction compared to conventional models. the developed forecasting system includes three main parts: Pre-processing, modeling, and evaluation. In the pre-processing, the voltage and current time series are normalized, and divided to the test and train subsets. then the windows of consecutive samples are generated for both train and test subsets. the forecasting LSTM models are learnt from training data set, in the modeling phase. Finally, the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) is used as the evaluation criterion. this model is compared to two other neural network models. the study concludes that LSTM outperforms the other models, highlighted by a significantly lower MAE. With a comprehensive methodology and successful experimental framework, this paper demonstrates the efficacy of LSTM in predicting battery voltage, indicating its superiority over simple neural networks for time series forecasting. © 2023 IEEE.

Surface emission spectra reflects the ability of a target to emit radiation of different wavelengths, and plays an important role in multiple fields as an inherent property of the target object. Currently, common methods require input of multiple data, whose acquisition will directly affect the accuracy and the timeliness of the results obtained. this article proposed a new physics-informed deep neural network for estimation of surface emission spectra, which not only utilizes the ability of deep learning models to handle nonlinear relationships and has been successfully applied to the inversion of various environmental parameters, but also combines physical knowledge of the maximum and minimum emissivity differences in multi band emission spectra to guide deep neural network training. the proposed model achieved accurate results in the simulated dataset. Compare the results of this article with ASTER surface emissivity products, which have similar spatial distributions and numerical ranges. However, the input of the new model only requires remotely sensed data, which has stronger robustness and timeliness. © 2025 SPIE.

With the rise of quantum computers, quantum-safe digital signatures have been invented to ensure the security and verifiability of communication. Hash-based one-time signatures are one of the candidates to ensure unforgeability against the improved processing power. this signature algorithm requires tracking of secret keys to ensure one-time usage, called key state. In an Internet of things(IoT) environment, failure to maintain key state due to network failures, hardware/software failures, implementation flaws, and improper access is possible. Consequences of failure to manage key state results in the degradation of the system's security, opening up opportunities for attackers to forge signatures. Solutions to this however are limited due to the scale and resource constraints of IoT devices. Hence, this paper proposes a solution named, Blockchain-based Key State Management to ensure the key state is maintained without affecting resources and scalability heavily. the solution utilizes blockchain and smart contracts to maintain key states by leveraging blockchain protocols to ensure key states remain updated and un-tampered. the paper also contains a qualitative survey comparing other alternative solutions for preventing key reuse to highlight the importance of the proposed solution. © 2023 IEEE.

Autonomous rovers are mobile robots, designed to operate in various conditions without any human intervention. these rovers are equipped with sensors, actuators, and control systems that enable them to navigate and interact with their environment. they are widely employed in fields like exploration, search and rescue, environmental monitoring, and surveillance. In this paper, we propose TrackerBot, which is an autonomous rover that integrates parallel object tracking, videography, and collision avoidance in real-world scenarios. the proposed rover can navigate safely and capture high-quality visual data of its targeted moving object. the rover control system is operated via a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller, and is accompanied by computer vision capabilities. It enables it to seamlessly detect and track objects at a parallel level in its environment, avoid obstacles and collisions, and record video footage with minimal hardware requirements. the proposed system performance is evaluated through its ability to navigate complex environments and capture high-quality visual data. © 2023 IEEE.

Federated learning (FL) can associate with edge computing system to perform distributed and privacy-preserving learning for intelligent IoT applications. With individually collecting the data in each FL node, the training data may exhibit non-independent and identically distributed (non-IID) property, which may seriously impair the FL performance. To mitigate the impact of non-IID training data, we propose a virtual non-IID transformation approach by combing local datasets among FL nodes to form an IID dataset group for tuning each local training model. First, each local dataset is examined and the data label distribution is uploaded. then, a perfect data label distribution is made as the best IID benchmark. For each communication round of FL, the local training model is verified to find lacking data label distributions. In next several rounds, the locally trained model will be sent to assistant FL nodes for compensating its uneven data label distribution based on the perfect IID benchmark. thereafter all FL participating clients join the parameter aggregation at the end of each round same as the traditional FL approaches. the selection of assistant nodes will be transformed into the minimum-cost maximum-matches (MCMM) problem, and then we use integer linear programming (ILP) to obtain the optimal solution. Finally, we perform extensive simulation experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. © 2023 IEEE.

the problem of improving the reliability of the organization's critical access resources is discussed in this article. In the educational sphere, such resources include examination systems, distance learning, videoconferencing, etc. We consider the case of a two-node high availability cluster based on software for configuring fault-tolerant Pacemaker systems Pacemaker and a DRBD distributed file system, which ensures the operation of an organization's website and a MySQL database server in active-passive mode. the configuration is shown for most of the used HA-cluster resources. © 2022 IEEE.

In this work we study a promising approach for efficient online scheduling of job-flows in high performance and distributed parallel computing. the majority of job-flow optimization approaches, including backfilling and microscheduling, require apriori knowledge of a full job queue to make the optimization decisions. In a more general scenario when user jobs are submitted individually, the resources selection and allocation should be performed immediately in the online mode. In this work we consider a neural network prototype model trained to perform online optimization decisions based on a known optimal solution. For this purpose, we designed MLAK algorithm which implements 0-1 knapsack problem based on the apriori unknown utility function. In a dedicated simulation experiments with different utility functions MLAK provides resources selection efficiency comparable to a classical greedy algorithm. the interdisciplinary nature of the considered problem and its solution (including elements from the areas of optimization, scheduling algorithms, machine learning and simulation) makes it a good study example in technical disciplines. © 2022 IEEE.

One of the pillars of human social interaction is the ability to communicate one's feelings and emotions. In recent years, there has been a fast growth in research on the subject of emotional voice synthesis. Regardless, the results leave something to be desired in terms of the clarity of the emotions expressed. In this study, we propose Emo-TTS, a parallel transformer-based text-to-speech (TTS) model modified to model emotions in speech. We use a conformer-based architecture that has been augmented with speaker and emotion embedding. An external speech emotion recognition (SER) model is utilized to incorporate classification loss and perceptual loss into the TTS model, which improves emotional expressiveness and allows it to train in a self-supervised way when no emotion ground truth is available. Improving speaker embedding is critical for training hundreds of speakers with minimal valid data, allowing us to generate realistic-sounding emotional voices with only minutes of audio. By combining effective emotion and speaker embedding, we may be able to model emotions for speakers with unseen emotions. Achieving strong emotional expressiveness with a small amount of viable data could significantly improve many fields, including automated audio-book reading and possibly replacing voice actors. We achieve an accuracy of 80% on a combination of 5 datasets in our SER task.
