the internet of things (IoT) plays an important role in 5G communications. Large number of 5G end modules supports the communications of different types of IOT applications, which constantly put forward requirements for high capacity communication technology. In IOT applications, distributed end nodes can construct virtual uniform circular arrays (UCAs), thus performing high capacity UCA based orbital angular momentum (OAM) communication. However, phase deviation exists in the distributed radio chains, which destroys the orthogonality among OAM modes and deteriorates the communication performance. therefore, phase calibrations are needed. Existing phase calibration schemes are not optimal for UCA based OAM communications, therefore, we propose a phase calibration scheme specially designed for the distributed UCA in this paper. the scheme consists of the phase deviation computation method and the signaling interaction process. through the signaling interaction, each end node obtains different phase deviation information. then, the target phase deviation can be calculated based on the computation method. the phase deviation computation only involves linear equations and the quantitized phase value is transmitted during the signaling interaction process. therefore, the proposed scheme brings little overhead to the normal communications. Simulation results indicate that the proposed calibration scheme can achieve high performance under different signaling precisions, and greatly improves the capacity of the uplink communication for the distributed IOT end nodes. © 2023 IEEE.

With the emergence of high-speed internet, web traffic is spiking gradually. People are opting for different optimization frameworks to develop their enterprise level applications. To meet the modern demand of high fault tolerance reliability and low latency, the traditional approach of monolithic application deployment needs to be replaced with the micro service deployment approach. this offers a wide range of benefits with the involvement of modern cloud computing like serverless and multi-cloud architecture. With the implementation of microservice, there is the requirement of automated management of microservice which is done by the orchestration tools. With these advances in technology, there are several complex challenges. this paper uncovers how different techniques help in addressing these modern deployment issues and how the modern approach is drifted towards the high computational availability and low costing. through the review of recent research and advancements in this area, this paper presents an effective study on microservice deployment and orchestration challenges along with their proposed solutions. this review also highlights the synergic impact of modern orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. ©2024 IEEE.

With the evolution of networking technology, RDMA (Remote Direct Memory Access) has become an increasingly critical component in data centers. Its zero-copy and kernel-bypass capabilities significantly boost network transmission speeds and reduce communication latency, leading to software layers such as drivers and libraries becoming the new bottlenecks. distributed storage also plays a vital role in data centers, and integrating RDMA into traditional distributed storage clusters presents a promising direction. However, distributed storage involves complex cluster designs, like hash index, making the deployment and effective utilization of features of RDMA a substantial challenge. Researchers must invest considerable effort to thoroughly understand these complexities. this paper organizes the principles of RDMA and its relation to distributed storage and challenges faced. We summarize recent research in the deployment of RDMA, covering aspects such as RDMA-based distributed file systems, distributed key-value storage systems, and compute offload using smart NICs. Finally, we look ahead at the future research of RDMA in distributed storage, offering direction and insight for ongoing and future research in this evolving field.

Using the YOLO v8 model and deep learning approaches, this study explores the field of e-waste management and provides effective item detection. Our research attempts to increase the accuracy and scalability of e-waste detection, simplifying its incorporation into current waste management systems. through utilizing deep learning, our goal is to transform the way that electronic waste is categorized, from tiny parts to larger appliances, allowing for more efficient as well as environmentally friendly management techniques. When it comes to aiming for higher performance, privacy comes first. Methods of preservation guarantee the accuracy of sensitive data correlated with pictures of e-waste. By means of execution utilizing data anonymization and encryption methods, we ensure compliance with legal requirements while safeguarding against potential privacy threats and ethical issues. the YOLO v8 model achieved an average precision (Map) of 97.1% in detecting e-waste items, demonstrating its effectiveness and scalability for real-world applications. © 2025 IEEE.

the expansion of the internet of things (IoT) has made it possible for numerous widespread objects to connect to one another and communicate with one another, leading to unprecedented data releases. However, regardless of the fact that cloud computing has been a useful tool for processing and storing these data, problems like the growing demand for real-time applications and the constrained availability of network bandwidth cannot yet be resolved solely through the use of cloud computing. As a supplement to the cloud solution, a new approach to computing called the fog computing paradigm has been developed. By moving processing, connectivity, and capacity nearer to edge gadgets and end clients and taking cloud computing to the network’s edge, fog computing aims to increase low latency, activity, data traffic, reliability, and privacy. the present paper discusses the framework of the fog computing model and presents a literature survey of various works that is carried out on fog computing. the healthcare monitoring system plays a crucial role in remote monitoring. A highly secure healthcare system utilizing advanced cryptographic methods to protect sensitive information. the system integrates a multifactor authentication framework combined with aggregated proof mechanisms to enhance security. A detailed security analysis has been conducted to assess its effectiveness against various cyber threats. Compared to existing solutions, the proposed model demonstrates exceptional resilience to numerous known attacks, including Session Key Computation, Password Guessing, User & Gateway Node Impersonation, Replay Attacks, Sensor Node Spoofing, and Privileged Insider Attacks. these features ensure robust protection for healthcare data, addressing critical security concerns in modern applications. Federated learning (FL) has been considered a promising artificial intelligence technology that aims to provide distributed machine learning services while protecting the privacy of training data on terminal device nodes. the traditional federated learning method obtains a local model through training on different device nodes and completes the update of the global model through a central server. However, this approach has issues such as slow communication and privacy leakage. We propose an asynchronous method for updating aggregation in federated learning. the server effectively manages the weight of each model parameter based on the varying training speeds of device nodes to minimize the impact of slower device nodes. Adopting this method can not only improve the efficiency of model updating but also reduce the demand for network bandwidth and computing resources, making it more suitable for resource-constrained environments such as Industrial internet of things (IIoT) systems. In addition, to mitigate the impact of poisoned data, we have developed a dynamic mechanism for allocating privacy budget based on the local Renyi Differential Privacy (RDP) mechanism. this mechanism adjusts the size of the privacy budget to achieve a better balance between model efficiency and privacy protection in the context of the Industrial internet of things. © 2023 IEEE.

In the industrial sector, we are currently witnessing the advent of the fourth industrial revolution, commonly known as the Industrial internet of things (IIoT). this cutting-edge digital technology relies heavily on connectivity, real-time processing, machine-to-machine communication, and machine learning. In this context, the imperatives of reliability, flexibility, mobility, and cost-effectiveness have led to a strong push towards Low-power and Lossy Networks (LLN) solutions for industrial systems. IP multicast presents a solution for a multitude of IIoT applications, ranging from over-the-air programming and information sharing to device configuration and resource discovery. It achieves this by enabling the transmission of packets from a single source to multiple destinations, thereby conserving resources such as bandwidth, energy, and time. the IPv6 over IEEE 802.15.4 TSCH (6TiSCH), as implemented, does not handle multicast traffic. To meet their needs, this document aims to propose an approach for implementing multicast in 6TiSCH networks via unicast without affecting MAC layer protocols. A series of extensive simulations were conducted to evaluate the performance of the multicast protocols under scrutiny. the obtained results not only affirm the viability of our proposed approach for implementing multicasting in 6TiSCH networks but also highlight the superior performance of ESMRF and BMFA when compared to MPL in terms of resource consumption and end-to-end delays. they also demonstrate the reliability of MPL.

In the edge-cloud continuum, computational resources may be available in the cloud and at the edge of the network. If services are deployed on these resources in a distributed fashion, the latency between the participating nodes may become a critical factor. this is especially the case if resources from different clusters are used and runtime dependencies between services exist. In addition, edge-cloud landscapes are volatile, i.e., both the topology as well as Quality of Service parameters like latency may change over time. In this paper, we present a service placement strategy suited to deploy services in the cloud-edge continuum, aiming at reducing latency. Our placement strategy takes into account the dynamic nature of the edge-cloud continuum. In addition, dependencies between services are discovered at runtime. To allow this, we present a framework extending Kubernetes, which identifies dependencies automatically. We evaluate our approach and can show that we are able to reduce the latency significantly.

this paper discusses the optimal scheduling technology of Electric Vehicles (EVs) in the consumption of new energy generation. In the context of energy transition, EVs, as distributed energy storage resources, have significant advantages for peak shaving and valley filling in the power system. the development of new energy generation, especially distributed Photovoltaic (PV), poses new challenges to grid regulation. this paper proposes a joint optimal dispatch model for EVs and new energy sources based on the summation search algorithm, aiming to improve the level of new energy consumption. the model achieves the optimal scheduling of EV charging stations through the objective function and constraints, and improves the system operation efficiency. Case analysis verifies the effectiveness of the proposed technique and shows that reasonable control of EV charging moments can significantly improve the level of wind power consumption, which is of great significance to achieve the "double carbon" goal. © 2024 IEEE.
