the robustness of cooperation clusters formed on complex networks has been intensively studied. In this paper, we numerically investigate the robustness of cooperation in prisoner's dilemma played on scale-free networks, where the network topologies are changed by continuous removal and addition of nodes. Each of removal and addition can be either random or intentional. We therefore have four different strategies in changing network topology: random removal and random addition (RR), random removal and preferential addition (RP), targeted removal and random addition (TR), and targeted removal and preferential addition (TP). We found that cooperation clusters are most fragile against TR, while they are most robust even in high temptation coefficients for defect against RP. these results imply that the robustness of cooperation clusters increases in accordance with increasing the number of cooperating hubs and that a huge variety of individuals is needed to maintain global cooperation in a social network in the real world where each individual represented by a node constantly comes and leaves.

Stability analysis and control of two-timescale systems are of importance for understanding oscillation emergence mechanisms. In this work, we study theoretically frequency-input-timescale (called the f-z-μ) relation in the two-dimensional Hindmarsh-Rose (2DHR) oscillator. All bifurcations of saddle-node, Andronov-Hopf and saddle-node on invariant cycle are also computed withthe respective parameter sets, giving the respective frequency gradient equation in terms of z and μ derived by approaches of their small perturbation on the oscillation. the core target in this analysis is to understand dynamical property of the f-μ cleft on the 2DHR undergoing the SNIC bifurcation, compared to oscillatory dynamics of the system exhibiting the other bifurcations.

Many devices that offer lifestyle support, especially movement support, for the elderly have been recently developed. We have developed a new personal mobility device, Tread-Walk (TW), which is a walking support system for the elderly. Here we proposed a new control of a treadmill that enables users to walk withthe same feeling as in normal level-ground walking. In this paper, we evaluated our proposed control method using a brain activity measurement, namely near-infrared spectroscopy. In particular, we quantitatively evaluated the operability, which has only been qualitatively evaluated previously. Results showed a notable tendency that brain activity depends on the accuracy of our proposed treadmill control. then a possibility that a walking state could be evaluated from a brain activity was suggested. Our study validates the active velocity control of a treadmill according to brain activity measurement.

IEEE802.11s draft proposes a new medium access control function-mesh deterministic access (MDA), which is mainly used for single-channel wireless mesh local area network (LAN). In single-channel environment, collisions between control packets and data packets may occur very often. To reduce the hardware requirements in design, a mesh point only equips single transceiver to support multi-channel environment. To completely avoid the collision between control packets and data packets, the interval of the meshed delivery traffic indication message is first divided into contention period and data transmission period. To provide high performance and network capacity for wireless mesh LAN, this paper proposes a dynamic adjustable contention period (DACP) mechanism and adaptive backoff process (ABP) to improve the performance of the multi-channel MDA (MMDA). the theoretical analysis gives the upper limit of the throughput for DACP. the simulation experiments clearly show the results in multi-channel wireless mesh LAN environment that the proposed scheme performs better than MMDA and the original enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) in throughput, average waiting time, and packet drop ratio.

Condition Monitoring System (CMS) can be used to aid plant owners in achieving these goals. Its aim is to provide operators with information regarding the health of their machines, which in turn, can help them improve operational efficiency. In this work, wind turbine fault detection system based on wind vs. power performance curve obtained from SCADA is studied. Considered fault detection scheme utilizes artificial neural network for training normal behavior of wind turbine system. Furthermore, In order to verify the effectiveness of the performance curve based fault detection scheme, SCADA data obtained from 850kW wind turbine system installed in Kunsan Korea are used and various simulation studies were carried out.

Studies have been conducted to detect object planes in 3D using 3D distant measurement camera such as Swiss Ranger SR-4000. In those studies, first, objects in the gray scale range image from the camera are emphasized. then, emphasized image is grouped regarding the depth information and parameters for planes are calculated using least-square-method. Here, emphasis is sensitive enough, but ambiguity of gray scale range image causes error detections. Considering this problem, a new plane detection method is proposed using 3D Hough transform. According to the experiments, new proposal is effective and it showed better results compared to the previous methods.
