the paper presents a novel modification to the generalised conditioning technique anti-windup compensator presented as a triplet of its possible modifications. the results are presented from application of pole-placement control, with an analysis of closed-loop system behaviour for a class of second-order minimumphase stable plants of oscillatory and aperiodic characteristics with different dead-times. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Based on the non-cooperative power control game (NPG) algorithm, the utility and pricing function are analyzed, then the combination pricing function is proposed and power control game algorithm suitable for cognitive radio (CR) networks is realized, the existence and uniqueness of the Nash equilibrium are proved for proposed algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can balance the interests of the CR users themselves, reduce the whole system of interference and improve the performance of cognitive radio system.

As an emerging portable service platform, OSGi is now taking a more and more important role in Ubiquitous computing environment. As a module management framework, OSGi provides the functions of dynamic loading and unloading software modules at runtime. But its use is limited because it is centralized and single programming language supported. In this paper we present LIR-OSGi, an extended framework of OSGi, which is designed to add the distribution and programming language independence to OSGi. Meanwhile it is easy to use for developers because of the transparence of service invocation and automation of distribution. Not like OSGi which can be applied only on the Java platform, LIR-OSGi makes programs which may be written in different programming languages be able to call each other transparently so that it can be applied in many different platforms such as DotNet Framework and so on. this brings much convenience to the program development in a distributed and heterogeneous environment. © 2011 IEEE.

the paper proposed to use a recurrent neural network model, and a real-time Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm of its learning for centralized modeling, identification and I-term control of an anaerobic digestion bioprocess, carried out in a fixed bed and a recirculation tank of a wastewater treatment system. the analytical model of the digestion bioprocess, used as process data generator, represented a distributed parameter system, which is reduced to a lumped system using the orthogonal collocation method, applied in four collocation points plus one- in the recirculation tank. the paper proposed to use centralized direct I-term adaptive neural control based on centralized neural identification of the plant. the comparative graphical simulation results of the digestion wastewater treatment system identification and control, exhibited a good convergence and precise reference tracking, giving slight priority to the direct control with respect to the optimal control applied. © 2011 IEEE.

A new framework for designing evolved program execution control in distributed programs is discussed in the paper. the framework provides an infrastructure for designing distributed program control based on monitoring of global application states. Global control constructs are proposed which logically bind distributed program modules and define the flow of control dependent on the monitoring of global application states. Such control can be organized in programs at the process and thread levels. Special processes and threads called synchronizers collect state information from application modules, construct strongly consistent global states and evaluate control predicates on global states. Based on this evaluation control signals are sent to processes and threads to define inter module flow of control and to influence the internal module behavior. the proposed constructs are incorporated into the framework as a graphical API which is compiled into C/C++ programs with the MPI2, pthreads and Open Mp libraries for communication. © 2011 IEEE.

Adaptability for distributed object-oriented enterprise frameworks in multimedia technology is a critical mission for system evolution. Today, building adaptive services is a complex task due to lack of adequate framework support in the distributed computing systems. In this paper, we propose a Metalevel Component-Based Framework which uses distributed computing design patterns as components to develop an adaptable pattern-oriented framework for distributed computing applications. We describe our approach of combining a meta-architecture with a pattern-oriented framework, resulting in an adaptable framework which provides a mechanism to facilitate system evolution. this approach resolves the problem of dynamic adaptation in the framework, which is encountered in most distributed multimedia applications. the proposed architecture of the pattern-oriented framework has the abilities to dynamically adapt new design patterns to address issues in the domain of distributed computing and they can be woven together to shape the framework in future. © 2011 Springer science+Business Media B.V.

Statistical process monitoring and control has been popularized throughout the manufacturing industry as well as various other industries interested in improving product quality and reducing costs. Advances in this field have focused primarily on more efficient ways for diagnosing faults, reducing variation, developing robust design techniques, and increasing sensor capabilities. System level advances are largely dependent on the introduction of new techniques in the listed areas. A unique system level quality control approach is introduced in this paper as a means to integrate rapidly advancing computing technology and analysis methods in manufacturing systems. Inspired by biological systems, the developed framework utilizes immunological principles as a means of developing self-healing algorithms and techniques for manufacturing assembly systems. the principles and techniques attained through this bio-mimicking approach will be used for autonomous monitoring, detection, diagnosis, prognosis, and control of station and system level faults, contrary to traditional systems that largely rely on final product measurements and expert analysis to eliminate process faults.

the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of visualized programming on the learners' problem-solving abilities and logical reasoning skills. the subjects are six graders in Taipei city and they accept a Scratch programming course in a semester. the research result shows that the effect of problem-solving abilities is significant, especially at the reason of prediction. Nevertheless, there is no significant effect on logical reasoning skills. In short, integrating the visualized programming learning and problem-solving strategies can enhance the learners problem-solving skills. © 2011 IEEE.
