In recent decades, there has been a notable surge in interest surrounding visible light communication (VLC), which utilizes visible light as a means of transmission. LEDs have emerged as the preferred light source for VLC due to their rapid switching rate, energy efficiency, and modulation capabilities. Despite the widespread use of radio frequency bands in modern communication systems, VLC stands out for its broad coverage and minimal interference. this research aims to create an energy efficient lighting model for a VLC network and conduct a photometric and financial analysis of the current lighting system. To verify the technical aspects of the LED performance, the DIAlux Evo software is used to redesign and simulate the lighting system. Simulation shows that 12 LED lights in a regular classroom provide the desired illumination levels with an average efficiency of 468 lx and a lighting power density of 5. 57 W/m2. After conducting a photometric analysis, a detailed financial assessment is performed to evaluate total power consumption and annual energy expenditure. this involves considering all Fluorescent Lights (FL) and proposing their replacement with LEDs for energy savings. By implementing LEDs, 70% of the cost can be reduced and the average efficiency of 126.4 lm/W can be maintained with CRI value > 80 and CCT as 4000K. Moreover, LED based VLC model is designed by Optisystem for the indoor environment to examine the data rate within 5 $m$ and this model can transmit data with maximum of 30 Mb/s. this LED-based lighting setup will be used for a 5G-enabled VLC setup. © 2024 IEEE.

Aiming at the problem that the output voltage of LCC-S compensated Inductive Power Transfer (IPT) system is easily affected by external disturbance and its own parameter disturbance, a Linear Active Disturbance Rejection control (LADRC) strategy based on Reduced-order Extended State Observer (RESO) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, a mathematical model is built and the parameter requirements of reactive power compensation are obtained. the relationship between the inverter duty cycle and the output voltage under phase-shift control is derived. Subsequently, the transfer function from duty cycle to output voltage is derived through small signal analysis. then, combined with the derived transfer function, a LADRC controller using the RESO is designed. Finally, the simulation is conducted in MATLAB/Simulink to verify the correctness of the derived transfer function, and to compare the control effect of using LADRC and PI control under disturbances. the simulation results indicate that the LADRC strategy has better robustness and dynamic regulation ability, which has a broad application prospect. © 2024 IEEE.

the retail industry is transforming with the emergence of the Internet of things (IoT) and embedded controllers with Support Vector Machines (SVM) algorithm. this research explores the advancements in vending machines, which combine technology and embedded controllers with traditional vending machines. these intelligent devices can collect data, analyze it, and make real-time decisions thanks to their sensors, touch screens, and sophisticated embedded controllers. through this innovation, smart vending machines can offer consumers a shopping experience based on their purchases and interactions with the machine. With data analysis capabilities, these integrated controllers enable the machines to provide discounts, special offers, and even recommendations on what to buy. In addition, intelligent vending machines help streamline inventory management, preventing shortages of popular goods. Because of this, embedded controllers are transforming vending machine operations' future while radically altering the retail industry. By collecting and analyzing data in real-time, smart vending machines allow for data-driven decision-making, which improves inventory management and reduces waste. Since all payment methods are linked flawlessly, purchasers can be sure that their transactions will go through without a problem. © 2024 IEEE.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) can use power series axis Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs) to power onboard equipment, allowing the motors to operate under high-speed and low-carrier-ratio conditions. At this point, there will be problems such as fast response and complex system sensitivity, resulting in poor performance of many control methods applied at low speeds. Currently, the conventional PI control method is commonly used. To find alternative methods to traditional PI control, it is proposed to apply Linear Active Disturbance Rejection control (LADRC) to high-speed and low-carrier-ratio PMSM. In this paper, an equivalent LADRC controller to the PI controller is obtained and introduced into the UAV power system through parameter derivation and calculation. the proposed solution is assessed through simulation experiments and the result demonstrates that the proposed method can achieve the same or even better performance as the PI controller, which provides a new control method for high-speed and low-carrier-ratio PMSM. © 2024 IEEE.

Aiming at the problem of asynchronous movement of the two sides of the H-type platform driven by permanent magnet synchronous motor due to uncertain factors such as permanent magnet linear parameter changes and disturbances, this paper proposes a global fast non-singular terminal sliding mode cross-coupling control, which uses global fast non-synchronized control on a single axis. the singular terminal sliding mode is used as the position controller, and the speed controller uses ordinary PI control to ensure the single-axis tracking accuracy. In this paper, a cross-coupling synchronous controller for driving the H-type platform is studied based on a permanent magnet synchronous motor. © 2022 IEEE.

According to actual structure of High-speed Multi-stage cylinder linear launcher (HSMCLL), based on electromagnetic field theory, the mathematical model of the launcher is deduced, which considers inter-stage coupling effect. the discharge control strategy of the launcher is proposed. the dynamic performance of the launcher is simulated, and the current of drive coil and speed of armature are presented. Experiment results contrast with simulation results, they are coincidence well. It verifies the validity of the model and provides a new way for the study and implementation of control strategy of this kind of machine. © 2023 IEEE.

Demand response (DR) improves the adjustment ability of power system from the user side, which plays an important role in improving the flexibility of power system and promoting the consumption of new energy. the estimation of customer baseline load (CBL) involves the benefits of DR participants and providers, so the accuracy of CBL estimation directly affects the implementation of DR projects. the control group method has a high accuracy. However, how to make full use of the non-DR load information of power users and improve the estimation accuracy of CBL is a problem that needs further research. this paper proposes a method for CBL estimation of power users based on k-means clustering control group. Firstly, the historical data of power users in the control group and the data on DR day are analyzed by k-means clustering to generate k load vectors of cluster center, and the historical data of users in the DR group in non-DR periods and the data on DR day are matched with the cluster center, and the weight vector was determined by the optimization method to estimate the CBL of DR users in DR periods. Taking the measured load data of residential users of a power company as an example, it is proved that the method can improve the estimation accuracy of CBL. © 2023 IEEE.

this paper proposes an adaptive traffic signal control (ATSC) system optimized using genetic algorithm (GA) to reduce travel delays at multiple intersections. the growing urban population has caused significant traffic congestion, leading to wasted time, higher costs, and fuel waste. the main aim is to enhance traffic optimization performance by improving ATSC signal timings at multiple intersections, optimized using GA. A 2× 2 grid traffic network is developed to represent the multi-agent network, and the GA-based traffic optimizer is formulated to optimize traffic signals based on the traffic inflow rate. the performance of the GA-based signal optimizer is evaluated and compared with pretimed traffic control based on the average delay and queue length of vehicles passing through the intersections in undersaturated and saturated traffic. the simulations results show a decrease of 4.7 % (1.7 s) in delay and 6.8 % (0.6 pcu) in queue length for GA-based traffic control during undersaturated traffic scenarios, and a decrease of 18.7 % (8.4 s) in delay and 14.1 % (1.8 pcu) in queue length during saturated traffic scenarios. these results highlight the effectiveness of the GA-based signal optimizer in managing traffic flow in a multi-agent-based signalized traffic network. this paper provided a valuable contribution to the field of traffic signal optimization, particularly in urban settings where congestion is a significant issue. © 2024 IEEE.

Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) offer energy efficiency and bio-plausibility advantages over traditional Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs). However, their application in complex tasks like object detection is limited by inadequate feature extraction, insufficient temporal processing, and high computational demands. To address these challenges, we present SpikeYOLO-NDFEB, which integrates a novel NeuroDynamic Feature Enhancement Block (NDFEB) and employs Dynamic Pruning and Adaptive Pruning (DPAP) techniques. Experiments on our proprietary dataset demonstrate that Spike YOLO-NDFEB significantly improves detection performance and computational efficiency compared to the baseline SpikeYOLO, while maintaining high accuracy. SpikeYOLO-NDFEB effectively enhances SNNs for real-time, energy-constrained applications such as auto-nomous driving and edge computing. © 2024 IEEE.

Modern advancements in optimizing processes have been explored by various researchers, particularly for exothermic batch processes, which are prolific in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. this paper proposes using artificial intelligence, specifically particle swarm optimization (PSO), to enhance these exothermic batch processes. Given that most exothermic batch processes utilize generic model control (GMC), the PSO algorithm will primarily focus on optimizing the control of the GMC within the process. the precise control of the controllers will aim to maintain the reactor temperature during the processes, ensuring stability and efficiency. this approach leverages AI to improve process performance, highlighting the potential of PSO in industrial applications. the proposed algorithm is shown to be able to produce a result of an increase of 4.5% of production of the desired product, while decreasing by-product production of 97%. the time it takes for the production of the desired product is also improved by 11.8%. this shows an efficiency increase of the entire exothermic batch processes, the results show that an improvement of the efficiency of the process makes the proposed algorithm a great method to improve the controller of the processes. © 2024 IEEE.
