Accurate wind power forecasting (WPF) is very important for stable and reliable power grid integration. Existing WPF approaches make predictions based on numerical weather prediction (NWP) of a single wind farm, where the spatial and temporal correlations among geographically adjacent wind farms are not considered. In this paper, we propose a novel WPF approach for multiple farms by integrating temporal convolution networks (TCN) and graph convolution networks (GCN). Abstracting the set of multiple wind farms into a graph, spatial information is aggregated with GCN on the irregular non-Euclidean mesh defined by the graph. For each farm, temporal information is fused via TCN. With alternating temporal and graph convolution layers, features are extracted from inputs and integrated for forecasting. As demonstrated by experimental results on data from a set of wind farms in Ningxia, China, the proposed WPF for multiple farms performs much better than existing approaches for a single farm.

Electromagnetic wireless communication in oil and gas wellbores faces challenges such as high bit error rates, limited channel bandwidth, and power constraints. Traditional digital modulation methods struggle to balance error performance with the power spectrum characteristics required for effective communication in these environments. To address this issue, we propose a Return to Zero coded Gaussian Minimum Shift Keying modulation method, based on GMSK with a BT value of 0.3. this method utilizes a bipolar return-to-zero code with a 70% duty cycle for differential encoding of the original signal, which serves as the input to a Gaussian filter. It mitigates the high bit error rate caused by inter-symbol interference in conventional GMSK while maintaining excellent power spectrum characteristics. the simulation results indicate that the modulation method proposed in this paper can simultaneously satisfy the requirements of oil and gas wellbore communication on the bit error rate performance and power spectrum characteristics, which further improves the reliability and effectiveness of oil and gas wellbore communication. Experimental results from wireless signal down-transmission in a real wellbore environment confirm that the RZ-GMSK signal can accurately transmit control instructions, meeting the needs of field operations. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to solve the problem that suspension insulator in substation cannot effectively implement zero value detection, a terminal tool for suspension insulator resistance detection robot based on wireless remote control is designed and researched, which realizes the autonomous walking of the tool on insulator string in substation and the measurement of insulator resistance. the mechanical design, electrical system design, and experimental studies of the terminal tool for insulator resistance detection robots are presented emphatically. the test results show that the designed terminal insulator detection tool meets the requirements for suspension insulator detection in substations. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. In these modern times, receiving health care services from various hospitals and clinics has become very common due to the predominant increase in the specialization of health care services and also as a consequence of people's moving to different cities and countries. Doctors who have a thorough understanding of a patient's medical history can more accurately make a diagnosis and provide treatment for the patient in the right timeframe. Despite improved medical services, healthcare service providers face issues in sharing sensitive data. the major problem faced by healthcare service providers right now is ensuring data security, data integrity, and confidentiality of the data while keeping the privacy of patients intact simultaneously. To solve this problem, we propose a blockchain technology using Hyperledger Fabric that allows patients to control their medical information and access doctors for data. By creating a distributed database of the patient's medical records, the patient can switch hospitals without bothering about the medical records. It also makes it easier for a doctor to keep track of a patient's medical history. © 2022 IEEE.

the Step Voltage Regulator (SVR) has been utilized in distribution systems for several decades. However, the rapid development of renewable energy and distributed generation has imposed limitations on the regulation performance and lifespan of traditional SVR due to voltage instability caused by high renewable energy penetration. Additionally, the stepwise voltage adjustment inherent to SVR cannot ensure precise voltage regulation. Furthermore, SVR is incapable of providing reactive power support or compensating for three-phase imbalance. this paper proposes a solution that integrates power electronic devices with SVR. By incorporating a Unified Power Flow controller (UPFC) proportional to the voltage regulation range, the adjustment range of traditional SVR is increased by more than 20%, while also providing three-phase imbalance compensation and reactive power support. A 10kV 2MVA model is designed, and the control strategy and effectiveness of this solution are validated through simulations using Simulink. © 2024 IEEE.

this paper investigates the robust attitude control for wingtip-connected multibody aircraft, using preview-based control compensation mechanism to address the issues of inherent wingtip couplings. A constrained multibody dynamics model is first derived to obtain the nonlinear and linearised formulations for multibody aircraft. the H∞ control is employed to synthesize the pitch angle and forward velocity controller in the longitudinal channel, while the H∞ preview control is employed to synthesize the roll angle and yaw rate controller in the lateral channel. the preview control scheme enables the usage of future reference commands as feedforward information to synthesize appropriate control compensation to reduce the impact of wingtip couplings between adjacent aircraft units. Simulation studies conducted based on the nonlinear model show that the preview-based H∞ control system is able to achieve better control effectiveness and disturbance rejection performance, compared to the baseline regular H∞ control system without preview. these demonstrate that the mechanism of control compensation can greatly benefit the flight control of multibody aircraft. © 2024, Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

High-power thyristor, as the basic components of switch and power supply system, is widely used in large fusion device. those applications are long-term irradiated by high-dose neutron from deuterium tritium reaction, which will lend to the change of the electrical characteristics of the thyristor and may eventually bring irreversible damage to the devices. the thyristor switch of the commutation circuit in the Quench Protection System (QPS) of fusion device is regarded as the study object in this paper. Six ABB 5STP 52U5200 thyristor devices were selected and distributed in a spherical space with radii of 20 cm, 40 cm, 60 cm, and received the neutron fluence in the range from 4.3×1011 to 0.48×1011 n/cm2. By comparing the electrical parameter changes of thyristor devices before and after neutron irradiation, the effects of neutron irradiation on the characteristics of thyristor are obtained. Moreover, the effect of irradiated thyristor characteristics change on the whole QPS is also been studied by accurate simulation, which provides a valuable guideline for the maintenance and renovation of QPS. © 2023 IEEE.

the speed tracking control system of maglev trains has the characteristics of complexity, instability, and multiple disturbances. the traditional speed tracking control algorithm has low tracking accuracy, large tracking errors and easy external interference, so it will increase train energy consumption and reduce passengers' riding comfort. In order to improve the deficiencies in the existing control algorithms, the disturbance rejection PID (DR-PID) algorithm based on fuzzy control (F-DR-PID) is proposed. the DR-PID controller increases the anti-disturbance capability and tracking accuracy of the control system, and the fuzzy control algorithm adjusts the three weights of the DR-PID in real time. To verify the effectiveness of the F-DR-PID control algorithm, this paper is compared and analyzed with PID, F-PID and DR-PID control algorithms under the same experimental conditions. the results show that the F-DR-PID control algorithm has better tracking accuracy and passengers' riding comfort, and reduces train energy consumption and parking error. © 2023 SPIE.

the current research trend in the field of electrohydrodynamic (EHD) pumping is to find efficient control methods based on environmentally friendly fluids, which includes but is not limited to driving force strength, flow rate and control capability. In this study, we focus on exploring the ability of surface dielectric barrier injection (SDBI) actuators to control silicone oil jets under square wave signals. the 2D-PIV technique as well as the phase analysis method are applied to the flow fields produced by various SDBI actuators. By modifying previous actuators with polarity-dependent bi-directional jets, we have managed to design two additional types of actuators. the results show that they are suitable for small range of fixed-point impingement and large range of convective mixing, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

the plasma power supply directly affects the plasma-liquid interaction, which are reflected visually by electrical properties and solution properties. In this paper, the characteristics of bubble discharges and the solution properties driven by nanosecond and microsecond pulse power supplies were investigated. the results show that the nanosecond pulse bubble discharge (NPBD) presents a single current at the rising edge of the voltage, while multi-currents mode is observed in the microsecond pulse bubble discharge (MPBD). the current intensity of NPBD is much higher than that of MPBD. the pulse frequency and voltage amplitude have different effects on the current. the effect of the two power sources on the effectiveness of reactive species is positively correlated with power and less correlated with the type of power source. the difference of the solution pH in the NPBD and MPBD is mainly related to the concentration of aqueous reaction species. the solution temperature is apparently lower in the NPBD when the voltage varies, which has a greater relationship with its pulse characteristics. © 2023 IEEE.
