Integrated satellite-ground network (ISGN) emerges as a promising key component of the sixth-generation (6G) wireless networks due to its potential capabilities in providing ubiquitous connectivity for global coverage and reliable services. However, the inevitable existences of high-volume data, uncontrollable propagation environment, and malicious jamming attacks pose three significant bottlenecks for enabling efficient ISGN. With these focuses, we propose a novel framework of multi-functional reconfigurable intelligent surface (MF-RIS) aided semantic anti-jamming communication in ISGN. Under this framework, a semantic transceiver exhibits inherent robustness and data compression capability, and MF-RIS can customize the full-space wireless environment by leveraging its signal reflection, refraction, amplification, and energy harvesting functions, thereby achieving substantial global coverage, reliable connectivity, and high-rate transmission. Based on our proposed framework, we formulate a total semantic rate maximization problem considering the impacts of jammer's channel state information (CSI) imperfection, while maintaining the semantic similarity requirement, semantic rate target, and MF-RIS's self-sustainability. then, by transforming the imperfect CSI into a worst-case one by exploiting a discretization method, we propose a fast-converging monotonic optimization algorithm that is combined with decoupling second-order cone programming to obtain a globally optimal solution with fewer feasibility evaluations. Numerical simulations demonstrate the superiority of our proposed framework and algorithms compared to various benchmarks. © 2024 IEEE.

In the scientific computing community, parallel and, increasingly, distributed computing are both important paradigms for the development of large-scale simulation software. the ability to bridge seamlessly between these two paradigms is a valuable characteristic for programming models in this general domain. the Common component Architecture (CCA)2 is a software component model specially designed for the needs of the scientific community, including support for both high-performance parallel and distributed computing. the Common component Architecture (CCA) provides a means for software developers to manage the complexity of large-scale scientific simulations and to move toward a plug-and-play environment for highperformance computing. In the scientific computing context, component models also promote collaboration using independently developed software, thereby allowing particular individuals or groups to focus on the aspects of greatest interest to them. the CCA is being applied within an increasing range of disciplines, including combustion research, mesoscale storm prediction, global climate simulation, and computational chemistry, as well as connecting to instruments and sensors. In this talk, I will introduce the basic concepts behind component-based software engineering in general, and the common component architecture in particular. I will emphasize the mechanisms by which the CCA provides for both high-performance parallel computing and distributed computing, and how it integrates with several popular distributed computing environments. Finally, I will offer examples of several applications using the CCA in parallel and distributed contexts. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2004.

the brain tumor is a major human life concern. One of the main causes of mortality in individuals is brain tumors in recent years. It is tough to manually detect the tumor. Doctors may being confused to detect the tumor since they have been utilized to do image operations in computer programming. It is very crucial to discover the brain tumor early on with its precise diagnosis. the interior architecture of the brain and the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of an illness is an essential component of medical research. In medical practice, X-ray is used to diagnose the body's human component via several types of imaging technologies, such as CT-scan and MRI. MRI is utilized in brain diagnosis or tumor location, tissue volume measurement, tumor size estimation. Because of the tumor variety the detection of the tumor is exceedingly challenging. For the identification and classification of brain tumors, several image processing and neural network algorithms are utilized. In this article, we will present comparisons of several approaches with brain tumor diagnosis. Our study identifies signs of Brain tumor by utilizing the Deep Neural Network (DNN) method based on these symptoms at the very first stage. the hybrid CNN model was utilized to identify brain tumor illness and was demonstrated to outperform it in comparison with standard styles such as InceptionV3, RestNet50, etc. We have built a web-based AI tool to identify Brain tumors using this model.

General-purpose middleware must often be specialized for resource-constrained, real-time and embedded systems to improve their response-times, reliability, memory footprint, and even power consumption. Software engineering techniques, such as aspect-oriented programming (AOP), feature-oriented programming (FOP), and reflection make the specialization task simpler, albeit still requiring the system developer to manually identify the system invariants, and sources of performance and memory footprint bottlenecks that determine the required specializations. Specialization reuse is also hampered due to a lack of common taxonomy to document the recurring specializations. this paper presents the GeMS (generative Middleware Specialization) framework to address these challenges. We present results of applying GeMS to a Distributed Real-time and Embedded (DRE) system case study that depict a 21-35% reduction in footprint, and a 3̃6% improvement in performance while simultaneously alleviating 9̃7% of the developer efforts in specializing middleware.

What kind of systems would a systems integrator with 2 million people develop? How would they be built?

Software components, services, or modules are used via their application programming interface (API). For any sufficiently complex component, there are strict rules on the order and context in which particular methods of the API can be invoked. For example, a file must be opened before reading, and not read after closing. these constraints are called API conformance rules. their violation at run-time creates errors, which are often subtle and difficult to diagnose. In general, API conformance rules cannot be statically checked if concurrency is involved. We present a verification framework, called Fex, that assists in Java API conformance verification. Fex operates as follows. the first step is to express the API conformance rules as executable specifications. then, the program under investigation is instrumented such that all potential exceptions can be easily raised. Next, the program is sliced to retain only control flow and the relevant APIs. the executable API conformance rules and sliced program are then processed by the Java Path Finder model checker. Possible violations of the conformance rules are exhibited as exceptions during model checking. We have successfully applied our framework to the TSAFE reference air traffic control system and identified a subtle deadlock missed by previous verification efforts.

this paper describes the design and implementation of a fast 6-Point skeleton extraction algorithm from human silhouette images which can be used for real-time video surveillance and analysis applications. the 6 Points of Interest (POIs) are sacroiliac support point (Pc), head (Ph), right and left shoulders (Psr and Psl) and right and left foot (Pfr and Pfl). the algorithm was implemented as an object class library and can be used in *** development environment across *** compatible programming language such as C#, *** and IronRuby. the developed class library successfully tracked the POIs across live video frames in real-time. the applicability of the developed class library for video surveillance and analysis application was proven via its application in the development of the Intelligent Video Surveillance System (InViSSTM). A simple, general purpose case study, which shows the use of the *** components for simple gait analysis application is also discussed in the end of this paper to prove that it is general enough to be used for video surveillance and analysis related applications. © Springer international Publishing Switzerland 2015.

We present VAEL, a neuro-symbolic generative model integrating variational autoencoders (VAE) with the reasoning capabilities of probabilistic logic (L) programming. Besides standard latent subsymbolic variables, our model exploits a probabilistic logic program to define a further structured representation, which is used for logical reasoning. the entire process is end-to-end differentiable. Once trained, VAEL can solve new unseen generation tasks by (i) leveraging the previously acquired knowledge encoded in the neural component and (ii) exploiting new logical programs on the structured latent space. Our experiments provide support on the benefits of this neuro-symbolic integration both in terms of task generalization and data efficiency. To the best of our knowledge, this work is the first to propose a general-purpose end-to-end framework integrating probabilistic logic programming into a deep generative model.

Applications of Enhanced Dynamic Code Evolution for Java in GUI Development and Dynamic Aspect-Oriented programming

While dynamic code evolution in object-oriented systems is an important feature supported by dynamic languages, there is currently only limited support for dynamic code evolution in high-performance, state-of-the-art runtime systems for statically typed languages, such as the Java Virtual Machine. In this tool demonstration, we present the Dynamic Code Evolution VM, which is based on a recent version of Oracle's state-of-the-art Java HotSpot (TM) VM and allows unlimited changes to loaded classes at runtime. Based on the Dynamic Code Evolution VM, we developed an enhanced version of the Mantisse GUI builder (which is part of the NetBeans IDE) that allows adding GUI components without restarting the application under development. Furthermore, we redesigned the dynamic AOP framework HotWave to take advantage of the enhanced dynamic code evolution capabilities. the new version, HotWave2, now supports most AspectJ constructs, including around() advice and static cross-cutting. We will demonstrate both the enhanced Mantisse GUI builder as well as HotWave2, weaving several aspects for dynamic analysis in sizable applications at runtime.

It is proposed a new approach based on a methodology, assisted by a tool, to create new products in the automobile industry based on previous defined processes and experiences inspired on a set of best practices or principles: it is based on high-level models or specifications; it is component-based architecture centric; it is based on generative programming techniques. this approach follows in essence the MDA (Model Driven Architecture) philosophy with some specific characteristics. We propose a repository that keeps related information, such as models, applications, design information, generated artifacts and even information concerning the development process itself (e.g., generation steps, tests and integration milestones). Generically, this methodology receives the users' requirements to a new product (e.g., functional, non-functional, product specification) as its main inputs and produces a set of artifacts (e.g., design parts, process validation output) as its main output, that will be integrated in the engineer design tool (e.g. CAD system) facilitating the work.
