In recent years increasing attention has been paid to high speed drives, where the frequency ratio is low owing to the necessarily high fundamental and limited switching frequencies. thus, the selection of the applied PWM technique in the power electronic converters becomes crucial. the widely applied Space Vector Modulation (SVM) technique implemented in ultra high speed induction machine (USIM) drive is studied, where the speed of the USIM is controlled mainly by Field Oriented control (FOC) and less frequently by a closed loop V/f control. Two sampling methods of SVM technique, the Regular Sampled (RS) and the Naturally Sampled (NS) are compared in the above control methods both for synchronous and asynchronous PWM. Our finding is that RS-SVM can result in instabilities in FOC, while the NS-SVM can generate subharmonic and DC current components with considerable amplitudes.

Preface
2017 6thinternationalconference on Mechatronics and control Engineering took place in St. Petersburg, Russia during December 2-4, 2017. ICMCE 2017 aims to bring together researchers, scientists, developers, and engineers from around the world in both industry and academia for sharing state-of-art research results, for exploring new areas of research and development, and to discuss emerging issues in the fields of mechatronics and control engineering. It provides opportunities for the delegates to exchange new thoughts and application experiences, to establish business or research relations and to find global partners for possible future collaboration, and also it helps expanding the delegates’ knowledge and insight into the significant challenges currently being addressed in the related fields.
the proceedings of ICMCE 2017 records the fully refereed papers presented at the conference, which include 22 excellent papers selected from more than 48 submitted papers whose authors are from over 13 countries. All papers published in the proceeding have been peer reviewed by the reviewers drawn from the technical committee members and external reviewers depending on the subject matter of the paper. Its scope includes but not limited to: Acoustics and Noise control, Applied Mechatronics, automation, Mechatronics and robotics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Modeling of Complex Systems, Fuzzy and Neural Systems, Sensor networks, networked control etc. After the rigorous peer-review process, the submitted papers were selected on the basis of originality, significance, and clarity for the purpose of the conference.
We would like to thank the program chairs, reviewers and the members of the program committee for their hard work. We are grateful to all those who have contributed to the success of ICMCE 2017. We hope that all participants and other interested readers benefit scientifically from the proceedings.
