Photo realistic Image Synthesis requires high computational power to generate virtual images from 3D models. In fact, the rendering of a single high-quality image may take days even on powerful computers. In this paper, we present a novel approach based on grid philosophy and the P2P model for distributed rendering. the grid allows us to face this challenge through a highly scalable decentralized architecture, which has been developed and evaluated to carry out rendering of single frames and full animations. An empirical comparison is established with a rendering cluster also developed for this work to generate images for monitoring applications. the main contribution of this paper is to reduce the gap between distributed rendering and the grid by empirically showing the advantages of this approach. © 2011 IEEE.

Internet computing and grid technologies promise to change the way we tackle complex problems. Harnessing these new technologies effectively, it will transform scientific disciplines ranging from high-energy physics to life sciences. this paper describes a metropolitan-scale grid computing platform named TIGER Project (standing for Taichung Integrating grid Environment and Resource), which basically interconnects universities and high schools' cluster computing resources and sharing available resources among them, for investigations in system technologies and high performance applications. this novel project shows the viability of implementation of such project in a metropolitan city.

Alternative splicing analysis represents a typical computing pattern in bioinformatics. In such a problem's domain, there are massive and irregular batch jobs. It is critical to improve such a computation's efficiency and reduce the cost. Based on computational grid technologies, a solution has been devised. the solution consists of a grid service model for representing heterogeneous resources, a WS Service-Group for dynamically discovering as many appropriate resources as possible, and a WS Service-Group for performing massive, irregular batch jobs on distributed resources in a parallel and optimized way. the solution has been implemented in Harmonia, a computational grid software platform developed by Peking University. Experiments has approved the solutions feasibility and practicability, also has presented some hints for improving its efficiency.

Development of science and technology in different fields followed by complicated calculations-based projects and studies, therefore, in recent years it has been attempted to find solutions for reducing the calculation and temporal costs in the area of such problems. Various distributed calculations method, each are seeking for reducing the costs by parallel implementation of calculation plans on non concentrated calculating nodes, among which grid computing, exploiting from unusable sources resulted in reduced costs for developing the calculation networks. In concurrent with developed countries, Iran Scientific Society tries to use such methods for reducing the temporal and resources costs by researching and defined some projects for providing service-based grid computing for being used in universities and researching house through the country and the one of the most important actions of such kind includes designing and introducing the grid of Institute for Studies in theoretical Physics and Mathematics (IPM) where tries to aggregate universities and researching houses in the frame of a national grid and it has yet provided some of fundamental services of grid. this paper aims to provide a grid computing model for being used in universities and researching houses that implemented in Tarbiat Modares University by test. © 2011 IEEE.

Computational grids have provided the usage of computational distributed resources for computation intensive applications. the development of programs that use these capabilities is one of the challenging issues for grid computing. In this article, an effort has been made to solve this problem by presenting mobile-agent-based parallel programming on the grid. the presentation of this model which has been realized by extending AlcheMi (TM) grid system with adding agent properties and navigational commands that let user to develop his program by using mobile agents. To evaluate the system, algorithms of matrix multiplication and convex hull have been implemented in the mentioned system.

Data grid is a geographically distributed environment that deals with large-scale data-intensive problems. the main problems in data grid are job scheduling and data management. Generally, job scheduling in grid has been studied from the perspective of computational grid. In Data grid, effective scheduling policy should consider both computational and data storage resources. In this paper a new job scheduling algorithm, called Combine Scheduling Strategy (CSS) is proposed that considers number of jobs waiting in the queue, location of required data and the computing capacity of sites. Scheduling cannot be effective unless to combine it with replication. therefore, we have discussed various strategies in scheduling and replica optimization. Simulation results demonstrate that CSS gives better performance compared to the other algorithms. © 2011 IEEE.

the dynamical grid environment requires flexible and adaptive workflow system. this paper integrates Agents and Web Services into grid Service Workflow System based on Colored Petri Nets. the combination of Agents and Web Services enhances the adaptability and dynamics of the framework. How Web Service can be located dynamically and the services provided by it can be invoked are discussed. Using an example of ordering railway ticket, we show how our framework can achieve adaptability from process, resource and task perspectives using both Agents and Web Services. © 2005 IEEE.

In order to accurately monitor and analyze new energy resources in real time, the analysis and design of a distributed new energy resource monitoring device based on the Internet of things cloud platform is carried out, and a Hadoop distributed new energy system based on the Internet of things cloud computing is designed. It analyzes the computing architecture of parallel collection and distributed storage of new energy resource monitoring data, analyzes the infrastructure system of the distributed system, and builds the big data processing architecture and computing service architecture for the electricity information collection system based on the Hadoop cluster. Tasks are processed in parallel to improve the computing efficiency of electricity consumption big data;at the same time, in order to solve the problem of insufficient storage space caused by the sharp increase in the amount of data in the electricity consumption information collection system and the difficulty of data interaction at all levels, a distributed database is developed. the modular design of the parallel data collection system of HBase and the data warehouse tool Hive, and the distributed data calculation design based on the MapReduce method have improved the efficiency of data collection and the unified storage of heterogeneous data. the research provides reference for realizing an efficient and safe new energy resource monitoring data processing system. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
