It is required for an organization, before successfully applying a Knowledge Management (KM) methodology, to develop and implement a knowledge infrastructure, consisting of people, organizational and technological systems. Up to now, few approaches have been proposed for such technological systems supporting KM in organizations. Present paper advances previous work by proposing neural projection models for the analysis of the KM status of companies from two different industrial sectors. Exploratory methods are applied to real-life case studies to know and understand the structure of KM data. Subsequently, the application of such models generates meaningful conclusions that allow experts to diagnose KM from two different points of view: companies on the one hand and industrial sectors on the other hand.

In order to ensure smooth functioning of a production system, the stability of its processes must be guaranteed, while on the other hand it must be possible to make quick decisions encumbered withthe lowest possible risk. Innovations concerning products or processes are a necessary condition to remain on the market, but they always carry the risk of losing the stability. the risk results from the uncertainty associated with making decisions as to the future, as well as from the fact that the implementation of innovations is one of the factors that disturb the current manner of the company's operation.

From real input/output data, different models of an unmanned aerial vehicle are obtained by applying adaptive neural networks. these models are control-oriented;their main objective is to help us to design, implement and simulate different intelligent controllers and to test them on real systems. the influence of the selected training data on the final model is also discussed. they have been compared to off-line learning neural models with satisfactory results in terms of accuracy and computational cost.

High level hardware simulation and modeling techniques matured significantly over the last years and have become more and more important in practice, e.g., in the industrial hardware development and automotive domain. Yet, there are many other challenging application areas such as numerical solvers for environmental or disaster prediction problems, e.g., tsunami and storm surge simulations, that could greatly profit from accurate and efficient hardware simulation. Such applications rely on complex mathematical modelsthat are discretized using suitable numerical methods, and require a close collaboration between mathematicians and computer scientists to attain desired computational performance on current micro architectures and code parallelization techniques to produce accurate simulation results as fast as possible. this complex and detailed simulation requires a lot of time during preparation and execution. Especially the execution on non-standard or new hardware may be challenging and potentially error prone. In this paper, we focus on a high level simulation approach for determining accurate runtimes of applications using instruction accurate modeling and simulation. We extend the basic instruction accurate simulation technology from OVP using cache models in conjunction with a statistical cost function, which enables high precision and significantly better runtime predictions compared to the pure instruction accurate approach.

In this paper we estimate the soundness of tagging in digital repositories within the field of Digital Humanities by studying the (semantic) conceptual structure behind the folksnonomy. the use of association rules associated to this conceptual structure (Stem and Luxenburger basis) allows to faithfully (from a semantic point of view) complete the tagging (or suggest such a completion).

the current industrial development of commercial dialog systems deploys robust interfaces in strictly defined application domains. However, commercial systems have not yet adopted new perspectives for dialog management proposed in the academic settings, which would allow straightforward adaptation of these interfaces to various application domains. In this paper, we propose a new approach to bridge the gap between the academic and industrial perspectives in order to develop dialog systems using an academic paradigm while employing the industrial standards, which makes it possible to obtain new generation interfaces without the need for changing the already existing commercial infrastructures. Our proposal has been evaluated with a real dialog system providing railway information, which follows our proposed approach to manage the dialog by means of a set of fuzzy rules.

the identification of coexpressed genes is a challenging problem in microarray data analysis due to a very high number of genes and low number of samples normally available. this paper presents a shape-output clustering method which is engaged in the analysis of a real-world time series microarray data from the industrial microbiology area. the proposed approach uses the changes in gene expression levels to group genes based on their shape measured over time in several samples. Furthermore, these coexpression patterns are correlated withthe measured outputs of production and growth available for each sample. Experiments are performed for time series microarray of a bacteria and an analysis from a biological perspective is carried out. the obtained results confirm the existence of relationships between output variables and gene expressions.
