artificial intelligence (AI) is a pivotal technology driving the next industrial revolution and shaping the future of education. this research focuses on developing a learner-centered educational environment that leverages AI to provide personalized, lifelong learning experiences. In response to the evolving educational landscape, we propose an innovative approach that integrates "Internet + Education" principles with AI-driven technologies. Our study explores the deep integration of information technology and education, emphasizing the creation of a new educational paradigm centered on individual learners. By harnessing the power of big data analytics and AI, we aim to revolutionize the teaching environment, enabling truly individualized instruction. the concept of "AI + X" is introduced as a framework for nurturing multidisciplinary talent, combining expertise in AI with knowledge from two or more additional fields. this approach places particular emphasis on programming education across various majors and disciplines, recognizing it as a crucial component of AI integration in education. Carbon reduction and neutrality receive more and more attention due to concerns about global warming and the energy crisis. the access of renewable energy brings greater volatility and uncertainty to the integrated energy system (IES). Analyzing the relationship between complementarity and economy is the key to maintaining the long-term benefits of IES. To illustrate the multi-energy coordination and complementary effect in IES, a two-stage planning optimization method considering economy and complementarity is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the complementarity quantification index is established by analyzing the correlation of different energy net loads. Meanwhile, the comprehensive economic index is formed considering the system construction, operation, and maintenance. then, the energy system is modeled, and the device configuration simulation is carried out. Finally, the Pareto solution set of the programming scheme is obtained by the NSGA-II algorithm. Measured by proposed indicators, the annual total costs increase by 15.8% when the system complementarity is enhanced by 41.3%.

this paper presents a study on using knowledge graph with ChatGP for robotics applications, called KGGPT. Traditional planning methods for robot tasks based on structured data and sequential actions, such as rosplan, have limitations such as limited data range and lack of flexibility to modify behaviors based on user feedback. Recent research has focused on combining AI planning with large language models (LLMs) to overcome these limitations, but generated text may not always be consistent with real-world physics and the robot skills to perform physical actions. To address these challenges, we propose KGGPT, a system that incorporates prior knowledge to enable ChatGPT for a variety of robotic tasks. KGGPT extracts relevant knowledge from the knowledge graph, generates a semantic description of the knowledge, and connects it to ChatGPT. the gap between the knowledge of ChatGPT and actual service environments is addressed by using the knowledge graph to model robot skills, task rules, and environmental constraints. the output is a behavior tree based on robot skills. We evaluate our method in an office setting and show that it outperforms traditional PDDL planning and a separate ChatGPT planning scheme. Additionally, our system reduces programming effort for applications when new task requirements arise. this research has the potential to significantly advance the field of robotics. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2023.

In the era of big data, the quantitative analysis of music influence has become an indispensable dimension. this paper focuses on the quantitative representation of the artist’s influence value and proposes an AR (artistRank) value to quantify the influence value, which is obtained during the construction of Influencer-Follower network. then, Louvain based Music Influencer-follower Network Construction model (LMIFNC) is developed and utilized to construct directed weighted Influencer-Follower network. Experimental results indicate that the AR can quantify the influence value and Influencer-Follower network based on LMIFNC can embody the relationship of different artists. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Employer accountability, administrative process optimisation, and dependable and effective employee or student attendance tracking are all made possible by geofencing attendance solutions. the employees or students can use the geofencing attendance system to mark attendance while they enter the geographical boundary that is pre-set by the organization's administrator. When a customer enters or exits a geofenced area, a virtual geological boundary is created that triggers a mobile phone showing action. A manager or designer initially lays out a virtual limit around a specific area in Global Positioning System (GPS) or Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID)-empowered programming. A geographical fence is a computerized barrier for an actual region. A geofence may be formed forcefully (such as a radius around a specific place) or can relate to a set of established stopping points, such as school premises or nearby fence. A location-aware device that identifies when a user enters or leaves a geofence. the user movement can also be tracked within the vicinity and the areas of interest can be identified. this act could alert the geofence administrator and issue a notification to the device's user. One web application has been designed for an educational institute where the faculties and students can mark their presence if and only if they are in the coordinates of the college premises. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Finger-vein biometrics has been extensively investigated for personal verification. Single sample per person (SSPP) finger-vein recognition is one of the open issues in finger-vein recognition. In this paper, a deep ensemble learning method is proposed for SSPP finger-vein recognition. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work proposed for finger-vein identification with single finger-vein sample per person. First, we generate different feature maps from an input image, based on which multiple independent deep learning based classifiers are proposed for finger-vein identification. Second, a shared learning scheme is investigated among classifiers to improve their feature representation captivity. third, an approach is proposed to adjust learning speed of weak classifiers, so that all classifiers achieve best performance at the same time. Finally, a deep ensemble learning method are proposed by combing all weak classifiers. the experimental results on two public finger-vein databases show that our approach outperforms its all classifiers and existing approaches, and achieves the state-of-the-art recognition results. © 2022, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Modern Natural Language Processing (NLP) models expose under-sensitivity to text rubbish examples, which are heavily modified input text. these modifications, e.g., word deletion, usually craft nonsensical sentences to humans but do not change the model’s prediction. Prior works employed beam search to determine the word deletion priority. However, the beam search lacks the local optimal jump-out strategy and is inefficient for long sequences. To solve these problems, this paper proposes an efficient text rubbish example generation algorithm, i.e., Gradient-guided Simulated Annealing (GSA). this approach involves gradient-guided search for candidate word deletions, coupled with an adaptive simulated annealing algorithm to optimize word deletion efficiently in long document inputs. the objective function is designed to delete the most words while keeping the prediction of the victim model constant. Experiments on four widely used text datasets demonstrate that GSA averagely reduces the text length by 15.6% with 37.2% time efficiency improvement compared to the baseline. Besides, our GSA also shows better properties in model retraining and transfer attack experiments, where the former property is significant in improving model robustness. the code is publicly available at https://***/soar-create/GSA.

To improve the segmentation performance of multi-objective evolutionary clustering algorithms, this paper proposes a parallel dual broad learning surrogate assisted semi-supervised kernel multi-objective evolutionary rough fuzzy clustering algorithm (PDBLS-SKMRFC) for image segmentation. First, the algorithm constructs a parallel dual broad learning surrogate assisted multi-objective evolutionary framework. It uses two broad learning systems as classification and regression surrogate models to evaluate the population in parallel manner. In the framework, a multi-population division strategy guided by dual broad learning system, a dominant individual crossover strategy, a sub-population mutation strategy, and a hierarchical environment selection strategy are designed to obtain more excellent offspring populations. then, a semi-supervised kernel rough fuzzy intra-class compactness function is constructed, which uses a few labels and pseudo-labels as supervision information to improve the image segmentation performance, and evaluates the clustering quality together with the kernel separability function. Finally, a semi-supervised kernel rough fuzzy clustering validity index is designed to select the optimal solution from the final non-dominated solution set for image segmentation. Experimental results on color images show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

the way of analyzing sentiment by the proposed model in this paper is strikingly similar to the mechanism by which one person perceives another’s sentiment. In this paper, We proposed a novel neural architecture named WeaveNet to "listen" and "watch" a person’s sentiment. the main strength of our model comes from capturing both intra-interactions of one modal and inter-interactions of different modals stage by stage. Intra-interactions were modeled by convolution operations in the first few stages for each modality respectively and by bidirectional LSTM in the final stage for both audio clips and video clips. Inter-interactions were recognized at each stage applying various fusion effectively. At the same time, our model concentrated on the delicate design of the neural network rather than handcrafted features. the inputs of the network in our model were raw audios and natural images. In addition, audio clips and frames of a video were aligned by keyframe rather than by time in time order. We performed extensive comparisons on three publicly available datasets for both sentiment analysis and emotion recognition. WeaveNet outperformed state-of-the-art results in three publicly available datasets. © 2022, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

the study presents the application of a general mathematical model previously developed for another set of timetabling problem which is the University Course Timetabling (UCT). the aim of this study is to extend the validation process of the formulated model using a standard Mixed Integer Linear programming (MILP). A real public university course timetabling problem was used as our case study. All data was gathered and analysed before embedded to the general model and solved optimally using the AIMMS mathematical software with CPLEX as the solver to a personal laptop of 2.20 GHz and 4.95 GB RAM. the data consists of 27 programmes, 449 core courses, 59 rooms and 70 time slots. An optimal standard university course timetable was produced within a few minutes of CPU time. Optimality denotes that the courses were assigned to the preferred slots and rooms, while fulfilling requirements such as the university’s policies, and other demands of all parties involved. With the timetable produced, it is proven of the capability of the mathematical model developed in solving timetabling problems. © 2022, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
