A multiple market trading mechanism for the VPP to participate in electricity, renewable energy certificate (REC) and carbon emission right (CER) markets is proposed. With the introduction of the inventory mechanism of REC and CER, the profit of the VPP increases and better trading decisions with multiple markets are made under the requirements of renewable portfolio standard (RPS) and carbon emission (CE) quota requirements. According to the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions of the proposed model, properties of the multiple market trading mechanism are discussed. Results from case studies verify the effectiveness of the proposed model.

Electricity providers aims to deliver uninterrupted electrical services to their customers at minimum cost while providing a satisfactory quality service. therefore, the power system reliability is essential in power distribution network planning, design, and operation. this paper proposes a novel mathematical model to improve the reliability of reconfigurable distribution networks via investing and operating tie-lines. While the failure is being repaired, tie-lines allow the network operator to transfer loads from failed zones to healthy zones. Constructing new tie-lines could improve the network’s flexibility, aiming to reduce the cost of expected energy not supplied (EENS). the objective function of the proposed method is a trade-off between the investment cost of tie-lines construction in the planning stage, the cost of tie-lines operation (e.g., opening/closing), and the cost of EENS in the operational stage. the model simultaneously evaluates the best combination of investments and network configuration for each contingency while considering network constraints. A multistage mathematical model is developed as mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) to overcome the computational complexity and maintain solver traceability for utility-scale realistic networks. the model can handle the network reconfiguration (NR) considering N-x contingency analysis in the operation stage while deciding the investment in tie-lines in the planning stage. the optimal investment and operation in tie-lines, according to numerical results, can reduce the cost of the Distribution System (DS) while responding with contingencies by 51 to 70%.

Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) have become ubiquitous in today’s supercomputing clusters primarily because of their high compute capability and power efficiency. Message Passing Interface (MPI) is a widely adopted programming model for large-scale GPU-based applications used in such clusters. Modern GPU-based systems have multiple HCAs. Previously, scientists have leveraged multi-HCA systems to accelerate inter-node transfers between CPUs using point-to-point primitives. In this work, we show the need for collective-level, multi-rail aware algorithms using MPI_Allgather as an example. We then propose an efficient multi-rail MPI_Allgather algorithm and extend it to MPI_Alltoall. We analyze the performance of this algorithm using OMB benchmark suite. We demonstrate approximately 30% and 43% improvement in non-personalized and personalized communication benchmarks respectively when compared with the state-of-the-art MPI libraries on 128 GPUs

Quality of life in general population before and during pandemic is topic need to be address by researcher in terms of mobility, self-care, usual activities, pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression. the study was carried out among Saudi population. Data were collected from general population using questionnaire during the period from 22 August 2021 to 10th January 2022. As a result, total 214 participants have included in this study. Among them prevalent age group include 40 years (n= 63, 29.4%) shadowed by the age group 25-35 (n= 61, 28.5%) while above 60 years group were least frequent (n= 1, 0.5%). On questioning the applicants whether they were satisfied with their health and how would they rate their quality of life, their answers were as follows: yes, or satisfied (n= 86, 40.2%), very Satisfied (n= 102, 47.7%) Dissatisfied (n= 11, 5.1%) and neither satisfied nor dissatisfied (n= 15, 7%). Due to pandemic, they were rate quality of life very good (n= 94, 43.9%), good (n= 63, 29.4 %) poor (n= 5, 2.3 %) and neither good and nor poor (n= 52, 24.3 %). During pandemic 96 participants feel no change in their weight but 110 participants respond that there is increase in coffee intake during the pandemic. Similarly increased in smoking habits and decrease rate in social activities (n=119,41.4%). the psychosomatic well-being of people has been interrupted by disturbing their social activities during pandemic. © 2022 IET conference Proceedings. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) have undergone accelerated growth due to their capacity to resolve challenging image recognition problems. they are utilized to handle an increasing number of difficulties, such as speech recognition, and the segmentation and categorization of images. the ever-increasing processing needs of CNNs are spawning the market for hardware support strategies. Moreover, CNN workloads are of a streaming nature, which makes them a good choice for reconfigurable hardware architectures like as Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). Neural networks are a sort of computer architecture inspired by the way the human brain processes information. A artificial neural network consists of a large number of densely interconnected individual processors, or neurons. By adding a simplified bypass zero multiplier to the neural computing of the system, the proposed system may reduce the processing time and complexity while handling a broad range of datasets. the suggested CNN comprises of two hidden layers and two convolutional layers. the proposed CNN is implemented on a Xilinx zynq 7z020 FPGA using the verilog HDL programming language, with the consideration for space utilization, power estimation, and logical utilization.

this paper proposes a short-term peak shaving model of hybrid pumped-storage hydropower plant (HPSHP). the model takes the unit as the minimum modeling unit and its objective function is minimizing the residual load peak-valley difference. the different operating characteristics of the conventional units and pumped-storage units are differentially modeled, and besides, the binary variables that represent the operation states are introduced to realize decoupling and correlation switching of operating states. In terms of model solving, the original mixed integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) problem was converted to MILP model by linearization method and modeling skills, and finally solved by CPLEX tool in JAVA environment. Finally, the validity of the proposed model is verified by an example of a hydropower station in southwest China.

In this paper, an optimal operation for an energy hub with multiple combined cooling heating and power (CCHP) systems is proposed to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and improve energy efficiency. the proposed model comprises a compound objective function to minimize operation cost and GHG emissions, and a set of constraints to represent multi-energy storage, nonlinear multi-energy coupling of CCHP, and multi-energy conversion. Due to the nonlinear relationship of power efficiency and GHG emissions with the CCHP load rate, multiple CCHPs with different capacities can be reasonably scheduled, and the power for each subsystem is optimally allocated to satisfy the electricity, cooling, and heating demands. Finally, the optimal operation of an EH with multiple CCHPs is examined. Simulation results show that the proposed operation has advantages in improving energy efficiency and reducing GHG emissions, compared with the single CCHP model.

the covid-19 pandemic and Economic Policy Uncertainty resulting from the shutdown of production, withdrawal of investments, enforcement of lockdowns and quarantines globally, have been directly affecting stock markets worldwide. this study is thus an attempt to analyse the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on stock market behaviour in major affected economies. Moreover, the time frame was extended by using current data which investigate the impact of the virus during the boom and the blast phase in the country's most hit by the pandemic crisis such as China, Italy, UK and US. the frequency of the data is daily, and it dates from 3 January 2020 up to 10 February 2021. the considered time framework will give a deep insight into how stock markets behave in the case of an exogenous shock. the Dickey-Fuller Augmented Unit Root Test indicates that all the variables are stationary at first difference, which is one of the main conditions to have robust result, and the ARCH-LM test for the heteroskedasticity of the residuals, which show that all the probability values are significant, rejecting the null hypothesis of no ARCH effect. Based on the results of GARCH (1,1), we conclude that the change in stock markets volatility is positive and significant in China, Italy, UK and USA. this suggests that the impacts of COVID-19 outbreak and economic policy uncertainty on Stock Markets are a significant and Homogeneous across the studied countries, and the shock on FTSE Italia All Share has the longest time to vanish which makes it the riskiest to invest during this period, while the shock on SP500 USA has the shortest time to disappear meaning that it is safest Stock Market in this study. these findings have significant implications for policymakers, institutional and individual investors and Financial Markets analysts. © 2022 IET conference Proceedings. It realizes the functions of poor students' information collection, poor students' application, students' information query and poverty level audit.
