In direct marketing campaigns, the optimization of target offers problem is a big business concern. the main goal is to maximize profit of company by reaching the right client. the main problems faced by advertisers is to configure a campaign properly by selecting the appropriate target, so it is guaranteed a high acceptance of users to adverts. But, Firstly, taking into account the combinatorial nature of the problem, on the other hand, when dealing with large database, approaches based on mathematical programming methods, said exact, appear limited. In this article, and since this problem belongs to the class of NP-hard problems, the use of a metaheuristic is needed; the bat algorithm which is a new inspired algorithm is proposed. Computational experiments show that the Bat algorithm was able to give good and competitive solutions.

In this paper, we address the problem of energy efficient resource optimization for downlink transmission in user-centric ultra-dense networks enabled by wireless access via non-orthogonal multiple access and wireless backhaul via beamforming. Our objective is to maximize the system energy efficiency by jointly optimizing user/access point scheduling, subchannel assignment, and power allocation. the problem is formulated as a non-convex mixed-integer nonlinear programming problem which is NP-hard. We then transform it into a convex subproblem using the sum-of-ratios decoupling and the iterative successive convex approximation method. An overall algorithm is further developed to solve the subproblem iteratively. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has improved the system-wide energy efficiency significantly when compared to the benchmark scheme.

this paper proposes new tools for predicting and visualising the plausible near term shifts in branch loading that may arise due to output fluctuations from renewable generators. these tools are proposed to enhance situational awareness for control room operators, by providing early warnings of where bottlenecks may manifest in a transmission system. For predicting plausible branch loading shifts, a linear optimal power flow formulation is presented which uses a novel objective function to characterise the maximum loading a branch could be exposed to in the short term. this analysis therefore identifies which branches could become overloaded due to shifts in output from volatile generators. Equivalently, these branches can be seen as congestion bottlenecks which may cause curtailment of renewable generation. To allow the system operator to maintain awareness of such potentialities, these congestable branches are highlighted on a system diagram which is drawn to explicitly portray the electrical distance between components in the network.
