Horizon line detection requires finding a boundary which segments an image into sky and non-sky regions. It has many applications including visual geo-localization and geo-tagging, robot navigation/localization, and ship detection and port security. Recently, two machine learning based approaches have been proposed for horizon line detection: one relying on edge classification and the other relying on pixel classification. In the edge-based approach, a classifier is used to refine the edge map by removing non-horizon edges. the refined edge map is then used to form a multi-stage graph where dynamic programming is applied to extract the horizon line. In the edge-less approach, classification is used to obtain a confidence of horizon-ness at each pixel location. the horizon line is then extracted by applying dynamic programming on the resultant dense classification map rather than on the edge map. Both approaches have shown to outperform the classical approach where dynamic programming is applied on the non-refined edge map. In this paper, we provide a comparison between the edge-less and edge-based approaches using two challenging data sets. Moreover, we propose fusing the information about the horizon-ness and edge-ness of each pixel. Our experimental results illustrate that the proposed fusion approach outperforms boththe edge-based and edge-less approaches.

the stochastic job shop scheduling problem (SJSSP) is a kind of stochastic programming problem which transformed from job shop scheduling problem. the SJSSP is an NP-hard problem. Current methods to solve the SJSSP ignored characteristics of SJSSP, which lead to large computation times and inefficient solutions. In order to efficiently solve the SJSSP, a method that integrates the ant colony system (ACS) and ordinal optimization (OO), abbreviated as ACSOO, is proposed to find a good enough schedule in a reasonable computation time. the proposed ACSOO utilizes the advantage of multi-directional search in ACS and goal softening in OO. the SJSSP is firstly formulated as a constraint stochastic simulation optimization problem. Next, the ACSOO is proposed to find a good enough schedule of the SJSSP withthe objective of minimizing the make span using limited computation time. the proposed approach is applied to a SJSSP comprising 6 jobs on 6 machines with random processing time in truncated normal, uniform, and exponential distributions and compared with five dispatching rules. Test results demonstrate that the obtaining good enough schedule is successful in the aspects of solution quality and computational efficiency.

In this paper, a single machine scheduling problem with deterioration jobs is investigated. It focuses on considering a new deterioration model and different deterioration rates for minimizing the makespan. Firstly, a mixed integer programming model for the scheduling problem is presented. Secondly, according to characteristics of the problem, dominance properties and lower bounds are proposed and integrated into the Branch and Bound algorithm(B&B). thirdly, for solving a large-scale problem, the heuristic algorithm is proposed. the numerical experiments show that when the size of the problem is small, the B&B algorithm can obtain the optimal solutions in a reasonable time. ILOG CPLEX can also obtain the optimal solutions of the problem when the size of the problem is medium. A heuristic algorithm can obtain good near-optimal solutions in no more than 1s. the results of numerical experiments show that model, B&B and the heuristic algorithm are effective.

In recent years, cloud computing technology has been rapidly developed and widely used. Tourist route intelligent recommendation system which applies the association rules algorithm based on Map Reduce parallel programming model can realize the personalized tourism route design under the cloud platform. In the design of the route recommendation system, the secure storage and the fast access of the large amounts of data should be addressed. In this paper, tourist route intelligent recommendation system based on Hadoop uses distributed association rules calculation to solve those problems, which can improve the scalability of its recommendation service so that to get ideal effect for tourist route recommendation. At present, most of communication interface testing systems are developed only for a manufacturer’s specific equipment and interface, withthe low reuse rate of software and hardware, and the high cost of maintenance. In view of the above question, the latest high performance fully programming Zedboard is chosen as hardware platform, the custom middleware and core framework meeting the needs of communication interface reconfigurable test are designed withthe in-depth research of the technology of the miniaturization of SCA, and the external interface abstraction of hardware platform and component containers of FPGA applications are designed by combining withthe advantages of MHAL and OCP interface. Finally, the software framework of reconfigurable communication interface test system based on Zedboard is designed. Users could achieve reconfigurable testing of multiple communication interfaces only by changing the application components and system configuration, which could enhance the universality and flexibility of the system, improve the reusability of software and hardware of the test system, and reduce the costs of interface testing system development and maintenance.
