As a practical and valuable method, bibliometric analysis has been applied to many research fields. In this paper, we propose a Publication Analytics System for Services Conference Federation (PAS4SCF). With SCF paper published from 2004 to 2016, the paper illustrates feature extraction methods used in the PAS4SCF and conducts citation analysis and topic analytics to explore the panorama of PAS4SCF as well as SCF publications. the PAS4SCF offers many interesting results which can help paper reviewers check plagiarism, build author credit and predict technology trends. We expect more researchers and engineers to participate in the discipline of services computing and discover more technologies, trends and methodologies based on or related to services computing, thus improving the overall scientific and social impact.

the highly scalable nature of Cloud computing enables its users to utilize distributed computational resources and access large amounts of data using different interfaces. Cloud entities including cloud users, service providers and business partners share the available resources at different levels of technological operations. However, the Cloud computing framework is inherently susceptible to a great number of security threats due to the amalgamation of different computing technologies that make it a complex architecture. Among all the potential threats, those targeting the users' data are significantly important and must be thwarted in precedence to facilitate effective cloud functionality. this paper focuses on the potential threats to users' cloud resident data and metadata and suggests possible solutions to prevent these threats. We have used UEC (Ubuntu enterprise Cloud) Eucalyptus, which is a popular open source cloud computing software, widely used by the research community. In this work, we have simulated some of the potential attacks to users' data and metadata stored in Eucalyptus database files in order to provide the intended reader with the requisite information to be able to anticipate the grave consequences of violation of cloud users' data privacy.

Transactions play an important role in distributed computing environment. Resource managers need to restore previous states when transactional rollback occurs. It is difficult to develop a new transaction recovery system with traditional software construction method because recovery processing interlaces with log management, concurrency control and storage management. this paper presents ISTM, an object-oriented framework for multilevel transaction recovery. ISTM facilitates construction of transaction recovery system by leveraging a Recoverable Action design pattern to separate transaction recovery from storage management. ISTM has been successfully employed in the implementation of message queuing middleware ISMQ.

In this paper, we present an approach and an existing implementation to support the object-wise synchronisation of general software entities. the software toolkit "MatchMaker" allows for synchronising already existing software applications by plugging in transparent event listener mechanisms that distribute information via a central server to other remote applications. Based on the original approach that has been presented in 1995, the current implementation of "MatchMaker" serves as the communication basis in real world applications of three computer-integrated classrooms in Europe. Current developments are oriented rewards the integration of promising technologies in the field of distributed computing. the main goal of "MatchMaker" is the provision of powerful yet easy applicable high-level API for synchronising distributed objects.

the Go programming language has seen a rise in popularity because of its straightforward nature and efficient performance. However, it still lacks a dependable and fully featured object Document Mapper (ODM) for working with document databases like MongoDB. Many existing ODMs either miss critical features or have fallen out of active development, which can lead to messy code and added complexity. To address these issues, this study presents 'Elemental,' a robust and optimized ODM built specifically for Go. Elemental is equipped with a powerful query builder, seamless middleware integration, and advanced data aggregation tools that work across multiple database connections. Test results have shown that Elemental outperforms the official MongoDB driver in both performance and maintainability, making it a suitable choice for Go enterprise applications. the obtained benchmarks and metrics indicate that the Elemental ODM provides shorter execution times, reduces cyclomatic complexity, and has a higher maintainability index. this study concludes that Elemental ODM significantly improves the developer experience and efficiency of software development by providing a well refined set of tools. © 2024 IEEE.

Anomaly detection in Cloud service provisioning platforms is of significant importance, as the presence of anomalies indicates a deviation from normal behaviour, and in turn places the reliability of the distributed Cloud network into question. Existing solutions lack a multi-level approach to anomaly detection in Clouds. this paper presents a wavelet-inspired anomaly detection framework for detecting anomalous behaviours across Cloud layers. It records the evolution of multiple metrics and extracts a two-dimensional spectrogram representing a monitored system's behaviour. Over two weeks of historical monitoring data were used to train the system to identify healthy behaviour. Anomalies are then characterised as deviations from this expected behaviour. the training technique as well as the pre-processing techniques are highly configurable. Based on a Cloud service deployment use case scenario, the effectiveness of the framework was evaluated by randomly injecting anomalies into the recorded metric data and performing comparison using the resulting spectrograms.

the collective resource utilization achieved through grid computing is critical to the overall computing capacity of the collaborative community and should be guaranteed. Especially, in an existing environment where job sites are Beowulf cluster systems, a service node failure may render the whole system outage. Current grid fault tolerance techniques only address these issues in an opportunistic fashion. thus, there is a need for complementing these approaches by proactively handling failures at a job-site level, ensuring the system high availability with no loss of user submitted jobs. Our grid-aware cluster resource management effort was motivated by the fact that a cluster turns into a popular job site in the computational rid environment. We propose a solution dealing with fault tolerance at the service level complementing the task-based solutions as being done in some recent studies. We discuss various service availability issues related to the grid, and preliminary results obtained while implementing the smart failover and transparent job-queue replication mechanism and the automated grid installation package. Our report entails the benefits outweighing acceptable overhead after implementing our proof-of-concept framework. © 2005 IEEE.

enterprise's adoption of cloud-based solutions is often hindered by problems associated with the integration of the cloud environment with on-premise systems. Currently, each cloud provider creates its proprietary application programming interfaces (APIs), which will complicate integration efforts for companies as they struggle to understand and manage these unique application interfaces in an interoperable way. this paper aims to address this challenge by providing recommendations to enterprises. the presented work is based on a quantitative study of 114 companies, which discuss current issues and future trends of integration and interoperability requirements for enterprise cloud application adoption and migration. the outcome of the discussion provides a guideline applicable to support decision makers, software architects and developers when considering to design and develop interoperable applications in order to avoid lock-in and integrate seamlessly into other cloud and on-premise systems.

Even after thorough testing of a program, usually a few bugs still remain. these residual bugs are randomly distributed through out the code. It is observed that bugs in some parts of a program can cause more frequent and more severe failures compared to those in other parts. So, it is possible to prioritize the program elements at the time of testing according to their potential to cause failures. Based on this idea, we have proposed a metric to compute the influence of an object;in an object-oriented program. Influence of an element indicates the potential of the element to cause failures. the intensity with which each element is tested is proportionate to its influence value. We have conducted experiments to compare our scheme with related schemes. the results establish that the failure rate can indeed be minimized using our scheme when the software is executed for some duration after the completion of testing phase. Our proposed metric can be useful in applications such as coding, debugging, test case design and maintenance etc.

An advanced high-level approach for programming of real-time distributed computing applications, the TMO (time-triggered message-triggered object) programming and specification scheme, has been enabled without creating any new language or compiler. Instead, a middleware system named the TMO Support Middleware (TMOSM) and an API that wraps around the execution support services of TMOSM have been established. An approach enabling further reduction of the labor in TMO programming is to let the programmer use a GUI to build structural frames of application TMO networks. the supporting tool called the Visual Studio for TMO (ViSTMO) consists of a GUI part for interactive design of TMO-network structures and a part for automated generation of C++ TMO code-frameworks. the TMO scheme contains mechanisms enabling efficient design of autonomy-rich structures of application systems and ViSTMO provides GUIs for programming the use of those mechanisms among others. the recent expansion and refinement of the functionality of and the implementation techniques used in ViSTMO are discussed in this paper. © 2003 IEEE.
