the field of logic-based Knowledge Representation and Reasoning has produced powerful formalisms for modeling commonsense knowledge in Artificial Intelligence. In this paper, we present EduBAI, an educational platform that helps users familiarize themselves with the main tenets of commonsense reasoning in dynamic, causal domains by means of an interactive entertaining environment. We present the design and implementation of the platform, along with the rationale of sample game tactics of diverse modeling complexity. © 2019, IFIP international Federation for Information Processing.

In today’s world, transmission and reception of data secrecy are the foremost concerns in wireless communication. Recently Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) has perceived the massive amount of attention as it inhibits privacy invasions and data disclosure. An entire generation of new security and privacy attacks might arise as the RFID technologies have a widespread deployment all over. One of the significant drawbacks in RFIDs are the unsteady authentication, either the password itself is leaked else data among the reader and a tag. Also, researchers have observed that there are threatening security drawbacks in Electronic Product Code-Class I Generation 2 (EPC-C1G2). To overcome this issue, a function called as the Pad Generation is used that assists in refining the security parameter in the mutual authentication scheme. this paper stresses on Tag-Reader Mutual Authentication (TRMA) - system of RFID tag-reader with the modified version of PadGen. the modified Pad-Gen design uses XOR operation for the RIFD-TRMA protocol. For the cost-effective hardware implementation, the proposed framework is simulated on FPGA Artix7-XC7A100T-3CSG324 device and physically verified on Chip scope pro tool. © 2019, Springer international Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature.

the Talent Scheduling problem (TS) is a practical problem entailed by devising a schedule for shooting a film, which is a typical constraint optimization problem. the current modeling approaches are limited and not efficient enough. We present a more concise and efficient modeling approach for the problem. Besides, we exploit TS as a case study to explore how to utilize parallel constraint solving to speedup this constraint optimization problem. © 2019, IFIP international Federation for Information Processing.

this paper introduces a novel ISS stability evaluation for a LNU based HONU-MRAC control loop where an LNU serves as a plant and a HONU as a non-linear polynomial feedback controller. Till now, LNUs have proven their advantages as computationally efficient and effective approximators, further optimisers of linear and weakly non-linear dynamic systems. Due to the fundamental construction of an HONU-MRAC control loop featuring analogies with discrete-time non-linear dynamic models, two novel state space representations of the whole LNU based HONU-MRAC control loop are presented. Backboned by the presented state space forms, the ISS stability evaluation is derived and verified with theories of bounded-input-bounded-state (BIBS) and Lyapunov stability on a practical non-linear system example. © 2019, Springer international Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature.

Along with the rise of Internet of things devices the threat of adopting the IoT devices for cyber-attacks has increased. the number of IoT devices would be more than a billion in the world. Communication potential of such amount of devices is robust and has become more and more interesting for hackers. Mainly DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks carried from IoT devices seem to be a preferred method of attacker last years. this paper illustrates a special type of DDoS attack using commonly available IoT devices called reflection attack which does not need to compromise the IoT devices. In reflection attacks, the attacker tries to use an innocent third party item to send the attack traffic to a victim to launch a distributed flooding attack, and to hide the attackers’ own identity. To demonstrate this type of attack, we consider the case of three categories of IoT devices: smart light-bulb (primarily used just for control of the intensity and color of the lights in a room), IP camera (digital video camera commonly employed for surveillance directly accessible over a network connection) and Raspberry Pi device (representing a single board computer). the paper demonstrates the potential of the IoT devices to be involved into such attack as well as first insight into communication traffic. © 2019, Springer international Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature.

Deep learning techniques give good results on target classification of MSTAR dataset. Most of the techniques for SAR target identification use only the magnitude information of the raw SAR data and discard the phase information. Deep convolution neural network has the ability to automatically learn from the complex image generated using both the magnitude and phase information from the radar data. In this paper we are proposing a new method for generating the complex image dataset (SAR-COM) and a deep learning model which automatically classifies targets from MSTAR raw data. © 2019 IEEE.

With the dramatic development of Web2.0, the occurrence of online health communities (OHCs) appeals to increasing number of patients and physicians to involve in this type of healthcare platform. Extant literatures have primarily discussed the various influential factors of patients’ choices in OHCs. However, scant studies have been conducted to explore the effect of physicians’ login behavior on patients’ choices, and the roles of physicians’ online reputation and offline reputation. Drawing on the signaling theory, a two-equation model was proposed and tested using collected data from a Chinese OHC to examine the effects of physician’s login behavior on patients’ search and decision, and the moderation effects of physician’s online reputation and offline reputation. the results indicate that physicians’ login behavior has positive effects on patients’ search and decision. Furthermore, physicians’ online reputation and offline reputation moderate these positive relationships. Especially, the moderation effect of offline reputation is higher than online reputation in the search stage, and lower in the decision stage. this study not only enriches the literature on patient behavior, but also advances the understanding of physicians’ login behavior in OHCs. the results have implications for the management of OHCs. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Hierarchical neural networks approaches have achieved outstanding results in the latest sequential sentence classification research work. However, it is challenging for the model to consider both the local invariant features and word dependent information of the sentence. In this work, we concentrate on the sentence representation and context modeling components that influence the effects of the hierarchical architecture. We present a new approach called SR-RCNN to generate more precise sentence encoding which leverage complementary strength of bi-directional recurrent neural network and text convolutional neural network to capture contextual and literal relevance information. Afterwards, statement-level encoding vectors are modeled to capture the intrinsic relations within surrounding sentences. In addition, we explore the applicability of attention mechanisms and conditional random fields to the task. Our model advances sequential sentence classification in medical abstracts to new state-of-the-art performance. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Many Distributed Ledger technology (DLT) projects end prematurely without reaping benefits. Previous research has indicated a lack of sustainable business cases for many Blockchain projects. A successful project has a disruptive impact on the business ecosystem. the paper investigates how e(3)value modeling can contribute to identifying the potential success of DLT implementation. Using insights from a first DLT case-study, an abstract e(3)value model fragment is defined that indicates potential success. As a test, the e(3)value model fragment is subsequently applied to a second case-study that is currently being implemented as a DLT-based platform. the paper concludes by reflecting on how an e(3)value model can provide evidence of meeting the requirements for building a sustainable DLT business case.
