EPIC model has been evaluated and used world wide, however there is still some disagreements on the simulation results of nitrogen cycle. Based on field experimental data, simulation results of soil NO3-N was evaluated and the parameter sensitivity for simulated NO3-N was analyzed in irrigated winter wheat/summer maize field on the Loess Plateau of China. Results showed 1) EPIC model estimated soil NO3-N content and its movement among different soil layers well, with the mean RRMSE value of 0.46, for irrigated winter wheat/summer maize cropping system in the semi-humid region of the Loess Plateau. 2) Simulation results of soil NO3-N was more sensitive to soil parameters, compared with crop parameters and meteorological parameters. 3) To improve the parameter value of BN2, HI, TB, WA, CNDS, BD and FC was better to the EPIC model to simulate soil NO3-N on the Loess Plateau of China. © IFIP international Federation for Information Processing 2014.

Medical image segmentation is the foundation of normal and diseased tissue 3D visualization, operation simulation and visual operation. In this paper, we comprehensively use two values that represent the same object (body tissue), to segment by the same algorithm implementation. the original CT images are downloaded from the web source, the dog rib tumor CT scan image by GE medical systems, all the experiment of dataset of 312 thoracic CT scans. the core of the segmentation is k-means clustering algorithm. the segmentation process consisted of two phases: (1) convert CT value to JPG gray value or not use the original CT value as the data sets for clustering;(2) segmentation bone tissue using the new k-means clustering algorithm program which is implemented with MATLAB 2012a programming language and for two-dimensional data matrix directly. the experiment produced strikingly different results. these results may be indicating that not only the segmentation algorithm of CT image is important, but also the data for segmentation is important too. © IFIP international Federation for Information Processing 2014.

Medical image classification is an important part in domain-specific application image mining because there are several technical aspects which make this problem challenging. Ensemble methodologies have evolved to leverage potentially thousands of base classifiers that are usually instantiations of the same underlying model (e.g., neural networks, decision trees). Random forest (RF) is a classical ensemble classification algorithm which gives the bound of generalization error (or probability of misclassification) of ensemble classifier, but the bound cannot directly address application spaces in which error costs are inherently unequal. However, the error costs in medical image classification are inherently unequal. In this paper, we propose an improved classification algorithm based on random forest (IRFA) to solve the classification problem. It leverages key elements of the derivation of generalization error bound to derive bounds on detection rate (DET) and false alarms rate (FAR) on ROC and gives the performance optimization guidelines for tuning class-specific correlation inferred from the bounds for each region. At last, we use IRFA for medical image classification. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.

the driving dispute is a critical problem for drivers when the car accident is happened. the drivers usually install the car video recorder in their car to recode their driving images for many years ago. If a car accident is happened, the driver can provide a driving video file as an evidence to claim that they did not do any dangerous driving, and protect themself. However, in some situations, drivers may not in the car accident when driving the car, but they have the same requirement for a video record, because they want to use those video files to find out the crime in hit-and-run accident. Due to an evolution of social network, many people were post the required messages to find the driving videos recorded in some specific times and locations. In fact, such kind of messages can be beneficial for many people to solve the hit-andrun accident by using social networks and driving videos. the goal of this paper is to develop a framework which can provide a platform for users to upload their driving videos, and allow other users can search video by a given specific time, date and location from the frameworks’ database. this framework can also provide the application on mobile devices for user to recorder their driving videos, and this application can upload their driving video into the frameworks’ database automatically. © Springer international Publishing Switzerland 2014.

this paper constructed the agent-based modeling framework and discussed the mechanism and implementation of agent-based rural areas and agriculture information by open-source program on country scale. In the paper, 13 indices were proposed to measure the rural areas and agriculture information level in the overlay 11 country regions located in Yellow River Delta and the Blue Economic Zone of Peninsula. the energy node agents represented for informatization involved in agent context were also constructed, network and grid of rural areas and agriculture information. In the study, 11 informatization node agents were given as the energy for the comprehensive evaluation of rural areas and agriculture information, which indicated the strength changes of rural areas and agriculture information. Correspondingly, the node process simulation of rural areas and agriculture information was explored from dual strategy mechanism driving. then the agent energy transmission mode was put forward for 11 informatization node agent, after that three grades change status of energy transmission was displayed in the study, which responded to the gradient changes of rural areas and agriculture information. Moreover, the spatial process of 11 informatization nodes was obviously described by the agent simulation with the Repast-S IDE, and the unsealed link among node agents was also analyzed in the paper. © IFIP international Federation for Information Processing 2014.

In this paper we have developed a methodology and a numerical model for sizing photovoltaic (PV) arrays for grid-connected power consumers. the decision variables proposed are the PV contribution to the power demand and a transfer factor. the latter is a new index that we have defined, and it constitutes key knowledge for decision making when aiming to reduce power transfers between a local power system and the electric grid. the developed model generates days of solar irradiance and calculates PV power output for commercial PV modules. Sizing diagrams are presented that illustrate how the PV capacity, for a specific location and a local power demand, affects the PV contribution to the demand and the power trades with grid. For the particular simulation conditions studied, the sizing diagrams show PV contribution saturation levels and global transfer factor minimums. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.

To capture equipment fault in real time and automate fault diagnosis, a pattern recognition method, based on data eigenvector and TCP transport protocol, was proposed to capture Water Quality Monitoring equipment’s fault information. Fault data eigenvector was designed after analyzing the equipment fault feature and capture strategy, structural pattern recognition strategy was confirmed and specific data frame was designed in response to the fault data eigenvector, by integrating the data frame design into the equipment’s communication protocol, data related to different fault compiled into fault data frames by transmitters or communication module of equipment’s different components, the remote sever captures equipment fault on transport via fault data frames according to the structural pattern recognition strategy. With 7 months of practical application in Taihu aquaculture project and research center of agricultural information technology, combining with historical fault data and contrast with artificial recognition result, the simulate experiment shows this method has higher response rate and process rate with a nice accurate. © IFIP international Federation for Information Processing 2014.

Modulation recognition in frequency domain is a complex problem. this paper deals with classification for analog modulated signals based on the frequency domain information. Here, two feature parameters are designed to describe the spectrum property of the modulated signals, one is the ratio of the square of the mean value of the spectrum amplitude to the variance, and the other is the kurtosis of the normalized spectrum amplitude. Modulation recognition rules based on the two feature parameters are extracted. the rules are used to recognize AM-FM analog modulated signals, which are actual spectrum data by Agilent E4407 Spectrum Analyzer. the test results show the effectiveness of our method in this paper. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.

Multimedia information, especially images, has been consumed in people’s daily life. Due to the restriction of consumer electronics, people capture, share, and see images of low-dynamic range (LDR) on digital platform. LDR images are represented with size of 8, 10 and even 12 bits for each color channel of RGB format. Compared with range of LDR, the human visual system can distinguish more colors at a given brightness. Herein, high-dynamic range (HDR) imaging, representing each color channel with size of 32 bits, has become a welcome revolution. With the development of technology and pursuit of quality, HDR imaging is a new trend to research in academia and industry. Naturally, it will come with the issues of security to protect HDR images. However, HDR images compared with common LDR images are new encoding format, it needs specific method for processing. In this paper, the tailor-made encryption scheme is proposed to encode LogLuv format HDR images for guaranteeing confidentiality while format-compliance is achieved. © Springer international Publishing Switzerland 2014.
