this project aimed to construct and operate a vehicle capable of movement on land while planting seeds at equal spacing. the project used an optical flow sensor, Optical Flow V1.0, for tracking distance movement, and an electronic compass, LSM9DS0 for tracking the vehicle heading. the vehicle made use of a differential drive system to move and navigate itself through a field. A seed-planting mechanism was mounted on the vehicle which enabled it to plant seeds. this mechanism included a garden seeder with a motor coupled to it. the system was controlled by a dsPIC30f4013 microcontroller board, and PID control was implemented for the motor control of the vehicle. Results show that the vehicle was able to move in its desired path, but the path tracked by the system may differ from the actual physical path due to inaccuracies of the sensors. © 2017 ieee.

the speed of the boat is greatly affected by different parameters considered in the environment. A boat without speed control system can be hazardous for it can lead to undesirable events such as engine breakdown or an accident. To mitigate these undesired incidents, a control system is proposed to sustain the boat's speed by automatically controlling the output power of the engine depending on varying factors such as wind speed, water current, and the total weight of the boat and payload. First, the needed variables are to be gathered thru instrumentation and research of the boat's specifications. Second, to find the relation boat between the variables on how they affect the speed of the boat and formulating a working equation that can determine the output power needed to maintain the speed of the boat. third, is to implement the proposed control system by using the formulated equation in Laboratory Virtual Instrument engineering Workbench (LabVIEW) software and last, to evaluate the resulting control system. © 2017 ieee.

Payload-based traffic classification use a subset of highly correlated payload bytes as signature to identify unlabeled traffic classes. However, these correlations diminish over time due to application behavioural changes, resulting in lower true positive in subsequent classifications. the short time-to-live of signatures means that signatures can become outdated quickly, and new set of signatures are needed to preserve classification accuracy. Extracting new signatures is computational expensive and not scalable to these continuous behavioural changes. this paper proposed a lightweight automatic signature extraction method that adaptively recalibrate the signature sets to reflect behavioural transitions using sliding-window mechanism. the algorithm use Leviathan Distance to detect the optimal number of payload bytes (K) needed to uniquely discriminate traffic classes. Sliding-k then shrink or expand the k value of the base signature to address for temporal changes instead of rebuilding new signatures completely. the experimental results showed that sliding-k is effective in reducing signature length while preserving classification accuracy for continuous traffic classification.

this paper present a comparative study of speed control DC motor by using two different artificial intelligent controllers which are fuzzy logic controller (FLC) and artificial neural network (ANN). Intelligent controllers have gained wide popularity in the application of controlling system including DC motor speed control. the type of motor used in this project is separately excited DC motor. DC chopper is used to control the speed of DC motor by controlling their armature voltage of the motor. the switching of the DC chopper is control by using pulse width modulation (PWM) technique. this paper consists of two parts which are software development and hardware implementation. the software part is the development of the DC motor model with the controller to achieve the desired speed by using MATLAB/Simulink. In the hardware part, DC chopper is used to convert fixed DC voltage from power supply to variable DC voltage. IGBT is used to control the variable DC voltage and hence, achieve the target speed of the DC motor. DSPACE controller board is used for real-time interface of Simulink model and hardware development. In summary, this paper demonstrated the efficiency of both controllers designed for the DC motor in term of speed control in both simulation and hardware implementation.

Electroporation occurs when the electric field is applied and cause the permeabilization of the HeLa cell membrane. It has two type that is reversible electroporation and irreversible electroporation. In this study, it suggests that reversible electroporation may become an important technique in treating cancer. In this study cervical cancer cell (HeLa cell) will be used as a sample for electroporation process. After electroporation process completed, compound extract (Neolamarckia Cadamba Leaves) will be used as anti-cancer within the culture media. this study will demonstrate a new method for cancer treatment via combination of natural compound plus the electric field. the treatment aims to investigate and evaluate the electroporation and compound extract test effect on HeLa cell. By combining this two technique electroporation and absorption of the compound extract on HeLa cell potentially might be a new technique for anti-cancer process treatment. © 2017 ieee.

this paper presents an analysis of how the photovoltaic mission profile affects the clectro-thermal performance and lifetime of DC-link capacitors of a single-stage inverter. A multi-step methodology is proposed to evaluate how different climate conditions impact on a various number of variables and elements of a PV system. Two PV mission profiles in different climate regions a tropical and a temperate one are defined using real weather data and combined with a PV model in order to obtain the relevant values of power processing throughout a 1-year operation. Electro-thermal modeling of DC-link capacitors in a single-stage PV inverter is done in order to evaluate their operating conditions in time. Finally, an analysis of the system's behavior for each mission profile is presented along with a lifetime analysis of the DC-link capacitors. the results demonstrate that the proposed methodology enables to verify, under several system levels, how the mission profiles affect capacitor lifetime in PV inverters.

In this paper, a function-based modulation control strategy for modular multilevel converters (MMCs) in a distributed generation (DG) system is proposed. Two novel modulation functions are introduced in this paper for the switching state functions of the lower and upper sub-modules of the interfaced MMC, which is considered as the main contribution of this control technique over other control methods. the amplitude and phase angle of the output current of the interfaced MMC can be easily applied to the proposed modulation functions to prepare a specific active and reactive power injection into the demand side. In addition, the equivalent capacitors of the lower and upper sub-modules are defined by taking into account the introduced modulation functions to guarantee an appropriate operation for the interfaced MMC in DG systems. Simulation results validate the capability of the proposed control method for MMCs under load variations.

In this study, an optimization problem is proposed for improving the flexibility of a distribution system including shared energy storage systems (ESSs) and residential consumers with elastic heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units. To this end, a direct compressor control mechanism (DCCM) is used for meeting the load reduction target of load serving entities (LSEs) by controlling the HVACs, and an optimal management strategy is presented for exploiting the benefits of shared ESSs during critical peak periods. Furthermore, an additional objective is included in the problem structure, which leads to a bi-level optimization problem, in order to reduce the possible consumers' discomfort caused by frequent HVAC interruptions. the effectiveness of the proposed bi-level optimization problem is demonstrated by comparing various performance metrics with those of two benchmark methods.

In green computing and cloud computing require efficiency in consolidating virtual machine without degrading quality of service. this study, focus on minimizing the migration of Virtual Machine to produce lowest power consumption. To achieve this objective, a new algorithm is used to calculate on the fly the Lower and Upper threshold Limit using Statistical Process control theory. this new algorithm is called Dynamics threshold Optimize system. three sigma theories are applied in order to get the desire range for the threshold limit. Result proved that DTOS is improve by 1% compare with fix threshold limit. © 2017 ieee.

Safe operation of rail vehicles is a matter of concern. Communication based train control (CBTC) network is a data communication based automated control network that ensures safety of rail vehicles. In this network status and control command are transmitted using WLAN technology. It has been observed that WLAN is less successful for high speed as because of its design constrains packet drops cannot be avoided. In present work, analysis of random packet drops in CBTC systems during handover process is evaluated. Unlike the existing work that only consider packet drop formulation under specific condition, we analyze system behavior under worst case scenario by varying one parameter over the range and analyze its impact on the packet drop and other related parameters of CBTC system. Simulation results are presented and compared against existing results under specific conditions.
