Detecting and monitoring common infectious diseases in intensive aquaculture settings is crucial for implementing effective scientific strategies to mitigate fish mortality and economic losses. However, challenges arise due to poor quality underwater images and difficulty in identifying targets, posing significant obstacles to diseased fish detection. To address these issues, this study proposes a model for diseased fish detection in aquaculture using the YOLOv5 network. Given the extensive utilization of underwater cameras in marine ecology applications, there is a pressing need for automated tools to process the vast amount of generated data by detecting and recognizing species captured in natural environments. the classification of fish species from videos and images in such settings is particularly challenging due to noise, illumination variations, and diverse habitats. In this paper, we introduce a two-step deep learning approach for detecting and classifying temperate fishes without pre-filtering. the first step involves detecting individual fish in images using the You Only Look Once (YOLO) object detection technique, irrespective of species or sex. Subsequently, a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture, namely Fish4Knowledge, is employed for classification purposes. Both the object detection and classification models are trained and updated with data specific to temperate fishes of interest, enhancing their applicability and performance in real-world scenarios. © 2024 ieee.

Nowadays, there is an increased concern for stability improvement in modern electrical systems, especially due to the use of distributed generation into the grids. Stability of power system is one of the main challenges to improve the power system efficiency. A Power system Stabilizer (PSS) is a cost-effective controller and efficient device to increase the stability and reliability of power systems. In this paper, the transient stability of ieee 9-bus system is improved with the integration of excitation system and PSS. the relative power angle is considered to evaluate the transient stability. the simulation results show that the existing system has oscillated. However, when the system is integrated with the exciter ST1A and PSS1A, the peak power angle decreases from 132.1 degrees to 103.7 degrees, and the settling time is 5.53 s. Additionally, the speed deviation is improved when PSS connected to ST1A.

Eye-blink control means that users blink intentionally to realize human-computer interaction. An intentional eye-blink signal acquisition and control system based on flexible pressure sensor is designed, which aims to control the object through simple eye movements such as blinking and winking. the system uses two pressure sensors to collect the blink signals at the orbicularis oculi muscles of the left and right eyes respectively. the software part realizes the acquisition and recognition of six intentional eye-blink signals, and transmits blink-control instruction signals through Bluetooth, so as to realize the control of the remote-controlled vehicle. the advantage of this system is that it is not affected by illumination and does not need GUI interface for control. the availability of the system is qualified after system test. © 2022 ieee.

Footed robots have a wide range of application scenarios, in bipedal robots have strongly coupled, nonlinear, and complex dynamical systems. In this paper, we use the proper function of the joint angle variation of the lower limb motion of a bipedal robot as the dynamic gait law input of the system, which can better simulate the movement of the robot's more inadequate limb system. For the representation of the dynamical system obtained based on the Lagrangian method, according to the coupled system decoupling and self-anti-disturbance control theory, this paper derives the decoupling process. the design of the self-anti-disturbance controller to realise the step-stable tracking of the joint angle of the biped robot is similar to the human gait in the presence of sinusoidal and step perturbations. the simulation results verify the validity of the theoretical analysis and provide experimental simulation support and a theoretical basis for the design of decoupling and self-anti-disturbance control of robot lower limb motion. © 2022 ieee.

Nowadays, surveys show that the cooling system accounts for 30% of the energy consumption of data centers. the challenge of designing an effective cooling control system to minimize data center energy consumption cost as much as feasible while maintaining normal operation is a pressing one to address. the traditional cooling control method produces excessive cooling energy consumption, which causes a large amount of energy waste and economic expenses;Moreover, the existing Model Predictive control (MPC) method based on the physical model has high modeling difficulty and model migration cost, and can only provide short-term control strategy. In this paper, we propose an MPC method based on a dual-stage and multi-step forecasting model (DMF-MPC), which can forecast the cooling system energy consumption in data centers accurately and provide a cost-saving control strategy of the cooling system for the next 24 hours on a combination of the peak-valley time-of-use (TOU) electricity price. We firstly propose a dual-stage and multi-step forecasting model (DMFM), a pure data-driven deep learning model, which adopts the historical server features of data centers, future weather factors, and cooling control to forecast the cooling system energy consumption for the multiple future periods, also a multi-step iterative training method is proposed in the training process to reduce the multi-step forecasting errors. In the control part of DMF-MPC, we introduce an optimal control model for the data center cooling system based on DMFM. the cost-saving control strategy for the next 24 hours under the peak-valley TOU electricity price standard can be obtained by solving the model through optimization algorithms. Finally, the effectiveness of the method is verified by validating DMF-MPC in a real campus high-performance computing (HPC) data center located in China. Our method achieves a 15%-25% cost reduction in the experiment. © 2021 ieee.

the Urban Drinking Water Supply (UDWS) systems play a vital role nowadays to support global city management, especially in the context of the fast growth of urbanization. In Europe, there is a natural conflict between urban population growth and the aging drinking water supply infrastructure. In particular, according to European standards, water should be drinkable from the taps. the requirements from these standards not only bring easement in our modern daily life but also are examining the robustness of the risk warning and control response in the UDWS system. Water quality as the key factor in the urban water supply is by default strictly regulated in the municipality management. Currently, the most common water quality control is relying on periodic tests for various quality indicators. In addition, further processing in the treatment plant, including measures and doses, is relatively fixed and weak to respond to the risk in UDWS. In order to address these problems, we propose a Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) approach for water quality risk control in UDWS systems. First, we build a case-based analysis computational scheme for the risk control in the UDWS system. then we provide our methods in feature selection and similarity evaluation between different cases. Finally, the results of an industrial case study are presented. this case is based on our data collection from the UDWS system in Oslo city in Norway. the discussion and analysis show the feasibility of this approach and practically provide decision support for water treatment actions. © 2021 ieee.

Input control using hand gestures is a growing area of research in the field of human-computer interaction (HCI), In this paper, we present the working of the virtual mouse by using hand recognition and its use of only a simple finger gap with no additional hardware requirements to control the cursor of the system. We had the webcam act as an input device that tracked the hand to perform an action. this paper needs a camera-based vision control system that uses finger gestures to control the system and also uses the color tracking technique. the virtual mouse will allow the user to move or navigate the system cursor using finger and hand gestures, and left clicking, right clicking, and dragging can be done using various finger and hand gestures. It will also help transfer files between two systems over the internet. the system uses a low-resolution in-built web camera that works as a sensor and is able to recognize or track the user's hand with colored caps in 2-D (dimensions). Hand gestures are one of the simplest and most interactive ways to perform communication with the user. the output from the in-built camera or webcam is displayed on the screen, and after that, it will track the reference point of the hand and perform movements of the hand to perform the activities. Gesture shape, distance, and position information will be gathered using the hand as a reference point. It helps to improve the interaction between human and computer and makes it more interactive and user friendly. © 2023 ieee.

Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors have gained significant popularity across diverse applications owing to their notable advantages such as high efficiency, reliability, and minimal maintenance requirements. this paper aims to investigate the rotational behavior of BLDC motors through the analysis of sound signals and IMU sensor data. the raw data was processed to derive average Power Spectrum Density (PSD) values, enabling a correlation analysis between the sound signal and the X-axis acceleration captured by the IMU sensor. As a result, the PSD variation of a sound signal and IMU sensor were relationships.

Embedded real-time systems are usually adopted on platforms with constrained resources in energy, but these systems have been required more and more powerful, of which, the powerful functions would inevitably increase the power consumption. therefore, reduction of the power consumption for an embedded system becomes as important as the accomplishment of the task execution deadline. that means, the strategy of task scheduling technology and selection of voltage/frequency mechanism should be considered together, so that scheduling could provide an approach to achieve system energy saving. In the practice of this topic for energy consumption optimization, experimental facts have shown that the adoption with combining the Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling (DVFS) technology and scheduling strategies could be a promising method to reduce system energy consumption. In this paper, an energy-aware scheduling model of embedded real-time system adopting the combination with dynamic power management is proposed, to ensure the tasks executed before the deadline and minimize processor energy consumption. Based on both considering aspects of timing control and energy consumption control, a dynamic power management scheduling algorithm is designed to sufficiently explore the adoption of the DVFS technology, to reduce the energy consumption, with fulfilling the execution deadline requirement and energy consumption adjustment, under the condition of multiple preemptive tasks. © 2021 ieee.

Most of the hydraulic injection molding machines are controlled by proportional relief valves or proportional servo valves to control the pre-plastic back pressure, but due to the limitations of the relief valve and the servo valve itself, low back pressure or even zero back pressure control cannot be achieved in practical applications. this paper proposes to use a proportional direction valve instead of a relief valve and a servo valve to control the back pressure, and to control the back pressure by controlling the opening of the proportional direction valve, and a large number of simulation results show that under different back pressure conditions, the back pressure can be established quickly and smoothly. And the use of dual channel mode to connect the proportional directional valve, can achieve high flow and low pressure of the flow capacity. the system uses a pre-judgment self-learning algorithm to optimize the PID control algorithm, which can achieve rapid and subtle pressure adjustment of back pressure Simulation and system testing show that the system has good steady-state performance and dynamic quality. © 2022 ieee.
