the need for automatic summarization becomes crucial with the exponential increase of data available on www and digital libraries, which makes the search for relevant pieces of information a difficult task. therefore, needless to say, an automatic summarizer would save a lot to user and operators. However, the development of such systems is also shown to be very challenging due to inherent difficulty in dealing with natural language processing, the subjectivity of the evaluation process and the limitation of the mathematical models. this paper puts forward a proposal for an automatic summarizer system, which explicitly makes use of the semantic relatedness of document sentences using WordNet taxonomy. On the other hand, several other attributes are taken into account in the design stage which include similarity to user's query, if any, which allows us to integrate some personalization to the outcome, similarity to the document title, location and frequency of co-occurrence. the developed summarizer also enables some search abilities, where three distinct search platforms were integrated (Lucene, GTP and Xapian). the obtained results were compared to MEAD summarizer.

XML (extensible query language) has become part and parcel of web for transporting information over the Internet. XML query languages provide us with powerful primitives to query a XML document. Many researches are ongoing, to effectively store XML documents and query the same. One among them is RFX compact storage, where XML documents are stored, with no redundancy of elements. In this paper, we develop an entirely new technique to process XPath queries in the RFX(redundancy free compact storage) in Kannan, R.S.A., et al, (2008), exploiting the self optimized nature of compact storage, using strategy list. We have defined certain categories of XPath queries such that any XPath query will fall under one of these categories. Our approach applies efficiently for all categories of queries (both correlated and uncorrelated)in Brantner, M., et al. We have also made some modifications in RFX compact storage, to make it suitable for storing and querying Inter and Intra relational XML documents. Experimental results conform that our approach is best suited for optimizing the XPath query for the RFX compact storage than any other existing techniques.

the increasing need of small knowledge-intensive companies for loosely-coupled collaboration and ad-hoc knowledge sharing has led to a strong requirement for an alternative approach to developing knowledge management systems. this paper proposes a framework for managing organisational knowledge that builds on a socio-technical perspective and considers people as well as technology as two highly interconnected components. We introduce a conceptualised system architecture that merges enterprise social software characteristics from the realm of Enterprise 2.0, and information processing techniques from the domain of Semantic web technologies. In order to deliver a KM approach that could assist in reducing the socio-technical gap, we suggest deploying such a solution using an integrated sociotechnical implementation methodology. © 2018 SCPE.

this paper presents a case study of an image retrieval system based on a notion of similarity between images in a multimedia database and where a user request can be an image file or a *** CBIR(Content Based Image Retrieval) system,the current System of Search for information(SSI)--***,MIRC,MIR,IRMA,and Pathopic--and the Current Search Engines(CSE)--***,Yahoo and Alta Vista--make image search possible only when the query is a *** type of search is limited because keywords are not expressive enough to describe all important characteristics of an *** example,an exact match request cannot be formulated in such systems and in SSI system,users should know natural language(***,French or German) *** used XIRS(an XML Image Retrieval System) to set up a similarity distance between images,then to compare the request image with those in a *** experimentation of XIRS on lung cancer diagnosis is *** statistics show that our system is more efficient than leading CBIR systems such as ERIC7,PEIR,PathoPic and CSE.

Towards ontology-driven navigation of the lipid bibliosphere

Background: the indexing of scientific literature and content is a relevant and contemporary requirement within life science information systems. Navigating information available in legacy formats continues to be a challenge both in enterprise and academic domains. the emergence of semantic web technologies and their fusion with artificial intelligence techniques has provided a new toolkit with which to address these data integration challenges. In the emerging field of lipidomics such navigation challenges are barriers to the translation of scientific results into actionable knowledge, critical to the treatment of diseases such as Alzheimer's syndrome, Mycobacterium infections and cancer. Results: We present a literature-driven workflow involving document delivery and natural language processing steps generating tagged sentences containing lipid, protein and disease names, which are instantiated to custom designed lipid ontology. We describe the design challenges in capturing lipid nomenclature, the mandate of the ontology and its role as query model in the navigation of the lipid bibliosphere. We illustrate the extent of the description logic-based A-box query capability provided by the instantiated ontology using a graphical query composer to query sentences describing lipid-protein and lipid-disease correlations. Conclusion: As scientists accept the need to readjust the manner in which we search for information and derive knowledge we illustrate a system that can constrain the literature explosion and knowledge navigation problems. Specifically we have focussed on solving this challenge for lipidomics researchers who have to deal with the lack of standardized vocabulary, differing classification schemes, and a wide array of synonyms before being able to derive scientific insights. the use of the OWL-DL variant of the web Ontology language (OWL) and description logic reasoning is pivotal in this regard, providing the lipid scientist with advanced query access to

web based Question Answering (QA) system is a valuable tool for improving e-learning. Many approaches use natural language processing technology to understand questions, which is incomplete and error-prone. Besides, instead of extracting detailed answer, many approaches simply, return hyperlinks to potential answers, which is inconvenient for the users. In this paper we use template mapping technique to detect the type of a question, based on which an appropriate query for a specific search engine is, built. We then extract detailed content blocks from relevant pages as answers. the content blocks are detected using a projection technique and clustered based on similarity. We select the answer cluster using the redundancy property of web answers. the content blocks in the answer cluster are put into one page for easy comparison. In this way We can greatly improve the effectiveness of web QA systems, or e-learning.

In this paper, we propose an experimental CALL (Computer-Assisted language Learning) system named WMCO (acronym for Wiki-enhanced Media Clipping Organizer), which effectively supports language learners viewing video clips as resources for language learning. WUCO was designed by decoupling the system functionality into two parts., video player terminal and comment editing terminal, and the major characteristics is to let language learners select arbitrary scenes from a video clip being played on the video player terminal and manage the related information such as metadata, comments, and control user interface as wiki pages on the comment editing terminal. We developed a prototype system for the proof of concept, and confirmed the effctiveness of the basic design concept.

In this paper, we will try to provide a unified approach to Chinese classifiers and the number system in English. It is argued that the former and the latter are actually two different components of the same linguistic category, serving to divide inherently mass nouns selected from the lexicon into countable units. As a result, numerals can be merged to denote a number reading.

this paper presents a template-based English-Chinese translation system characterized by two important features: Fast Optimal Parsing Algorithm (FOPA) and Universal Algorithm of Matching and Replacing Templates (UAAMT). First, the FOPA parses an English sentence into an optimal parse tree or template structure quickly. Second, the UAMRT matches each source template with the optimal structure and replaces it with the corresponding target template. the basic idea of the template-based system is to represent all translation knowledge in uniform templates which can be shown as context-free grammar rules. It then translates an English sentence into Chinese with FOPA and UAMRT System evaluation shows encouraging and promising results for quality and speed, and the system may perform better by adding more templates without any other changes.

this paper describes on application system that provides web sites with the location information of the internet users using their IP addresses. the IP addresses are very large size of data(2(32)) and the response time of the system should be short enough to be capable of dealing with large number of requests (thousands of queries per second) of web sites. Location information retrieval is similar to network router issue in finding destination of packets with IP addresses but also much difference in protocol, data size and complexity. the location information system using IP address is comprised of array, trie, hashing, and memory database. Experiments of each data structure and their performances are compared and discussed.
