Coreference resolution, which aims at correctly linking meaningful expressions in text, is a much challenging problem in Natural language processing community. this paper describes the multilingual coreference modeling system of web information processing Group, Henan University of technology, China, for the CoNLL-2012 shared task (closed track). the system takes a supervised learning strategy, and consists of two cascaded components: one for detecting mentions, and the other for clustering mentions. To make the system applicable for multiple languages, generic syntactic and semantic features are used to model coreference in text. the system obtained combined official score 41.88 over three languages (Arabic, Chinese, and English) and ranked 7th among the 15 systems in the closed track.

Many services in the internet including Email, search engine, social networking are provided with free of charge due to enormous growth of web users. With the expansion of web services, denial of service (DoS) attacks by malicious automated programs (e.g. web bots) is becoming a serious problem of web service accounts. In order to avoid tremendous attack from malicious computer programs, HIP, or Human Interactive Proofs has been introduced to distinguish humans from computers. HIPs are designed to be easy for humans but hard for machines. Unfortunately, the existing HIPs tried to maximize the difficulty for automated programs to pass tests by increasing distortion or noise. Consequently, it has also become difficult for potential users too. In our proposed technique we resolve this problem by making use of human cognitive processing abilities through emoticons focusing mainly on users. Features like language independence, using this for advertising purpose, ease of use interface for the touch-based smart-phone users, easy tuning of security and usability level make it very attractive to web service providers. In the result section, a microscopic large-scale user study was conducted involving 118 users to investigate the actual user views compare to existing state of the art CAPTCHA systems like ESP-PIX and Asirra in terms of usability and security and found our system can be solved with 88.04% average success rate in less than 7 seconds.

Semantic web comes out with the vision of making human readable information to be machine processable. Ontology, the core of semantic web, with concept instantiations serves as a domain knowledge base while semantic web query language provides retrieval of that information. In this paper, we presented a system that populates hotel related information in the ontology and a natural language querying platform to retrieve the information from a common interface for decision making. A simple user experiment shows that the system is time effective and helpful in making decisions with minimum queries as compared to browsing even with selected sites. © 2011 IEEE.

As an important means of monitoring public opinion through Internet or other languages media, real-time construction and supplementary of sensitive information is important for language information processing monitoring. Because the data of network has a large degree of freedom and has large information capacity and they are difficult to be controlled by the Government. In order to monitor Tibetan web information and real-time construction and supplementary of Tibetan sensitive information, we will mainly research the network language media, combining the manual and automatic discovery algorithms, building a web-based Tibetan public opinion monitoring system to achieve the automatic detection and warning of Tibetan sensitive information.

In the near future, robots with advanced intelligence will be used for the service of society, families, and individuals. In this paper, we propose the concept of an advanced intelligence machine, which is a device that uses both natural and artificial intelligence and is capable of affective recognition and generation of affective speech and behavior. We describe the concept of a "robotics cloud" for use by advanced intelligence machines in human-robot interactions and provide a theoretical framework and technology blueprint of the construction of a robotics cloud. In addition, we propose a "robotics school" for building robotics clouds and describe a framework for the school, its certification program, and a method for authentication of the school. the influence of robots on the development of society, scientific and technological progress, and human-robot relationships are also discussed. © 2011 IEEE.

Nowadays, users of computers store a lot of information on the web. For this reason, the Internet is a good place to search information on any subject. Due to the large amount of information, some users would search information on specific websites that they consider interesting (e.g. ***, news sites, etc.). Traditional models represent webpages by using the frequency of terms or the structure of links in order to assign weight to terms of webpages. this paper presents a semantic information retrieval to represent specific websites. this proposal integrates text mining algorithms based on natural language processing and traditional representation models with the aim to improve the quality of webpages recovered by searching. Each webpage of the website is represented as a vector of topics, instead of a vector of terms. In a similar way, the query is represented as a vector of topics. thus, a similarity measure can be applied over this vector and vectors of documents to retrieve the most relevant documents. © 2011 IEEE.

With increasing of the availability information on the web, document summarization technologies become very important research. there are many techniques using latent semantic analysis (LSA) and non-negative matrix factorization (MF), but there are no researches on matrix reduction and computation speeding for MF method. therefore, this paper utilizes the generic knowledge of expressions from newspapers to extract important sentences as the summary without stemming processes and no filtering of stop words. Form experimental results, it turns out that the proposed method reduce the matrix size reduction and speed up the computation of the MF method without changing on the original relevancy. © 2011 IEEE.

With the decrease of hardware production costs, putting connection capabilities to appliances has become affordable. At the same time, the widespread adoption of the web has gained on Internet users. At the convergence of these two facts the idea of a "web of things" has emerged, unleashing the current Internet of things solutions by exposing connected objects as web resources. While quite promising - now appliances are able to interoperate whatever their hardware or Operating Systems, using web protocols stack - this vision still needs practical mechanisms to allow applications or users to interact with connected objects. In this paper, we propose an approach supporting the use of a "web of things" through the creation of ontological models describing connected objects in order to make them "speak the same language". In addition, we present a framework that processes such semantic models to allow seamless integration and use of such connected objects within web applications. © 2011 IEEE.

To understand emotion and make machine emotion is one of the goals of affective computing. In order to understand language from interface of machine, both the meaning and the emotion are necessary to be interpreted correctly. But until now the study of fine-grained theory of emotion is still full of challenges. In this paper, a novel method to analyze emotion category is proposed according to the statistics of affective word hierarchy in Dictionary of contemporary Chinese. the emotion hierarchy is called complex emotion. Firstly, over 7,000 common affective words have be annotated and their detailed explanations had been collected for an affective lexicon, then we analyze the consistent relationship in the affective lexicon and consequently 52 salient complex emotion state hierarchies are categorized and tagged by a lexical affective clustering algorithm. the complex emotions are compared to the traditional definitions of basic emotions in psychology and have been evaluated to be valid by kappa value in the experiment. Moreover we also have tagged the semantic orientation for the collected words. © 2011 IEEE.
